Madam, My son (studing in boarding) for the first time wrote a letter to me in English, i read & I felt happy but i felt something was missing. My son started the letter as 'hi mom & dad' by reading this I felt that I am reading a letter written by someone else, so I told him to write in language which we speak at home. (my mother tongue & what we speak at home are different languages) as I am most comfortable to local language. Now when I read his letters I feel like I am speaking to him, I feel my son is with me through his letters. Expressing feelings in a language that we are comfortable brings closeness & happiness to us. Knowing or studying other languages is also required to face the competitive world. KNOWLEDGE CAN BE GAINED IRRESPECTIVE OF ANY LANGUAGE.
