I love how perfectly scaled these plugins are. I tried Amplitube and was INSTANTLY overwhelmed with all the options. Did it sound good? Yes, but I could have spent a lifetime comparing all the options where here I literally plugged in and instantly loved it. ML keeps it so beautiful and simple
Contrary to many people in the comment section, i think it sounds excellent! Tried it with my Gibson SG Standard and it sounds fantastic! I think it comes close to the real thing. Obviously, it's not exactly like a real JCM 800, but it's super versatile and can be used for various different genres. And it's cheap!
Fluff, if you haven't tried it yet, the Plugin Alliance Friedman BE-100 plugin is phenomenal. Give it a try. Their Deizel Herbert plugin is really good, too. 🤘🏻
Sounds nothing like the JCM 800. Probably because those stock cabs are lacking bigtime. The only thing that perfectly nails the tone of my JCM800 is the UAD Marshall plugin.
I have the free fluff amped roots plugin, but I'm a noob when it comes to this kind of stuff, I don't know how to load it into reaper so I've never been able to get a sound out of it.
Make sure you're updated to the latest version of Reaper, then scan for plugins. It should show up, if not run the installer again and ensure that you've installed the VST3 plugin file into the correct directory
Yeah but at least they’re pretty cheap. I don’t know if it’s still discounted, but I bought it a couple weeks ago when it launched and it converted to like $35 and change USD
Still sounds good for an amp sim, demo didnt sound any less quality then when he does it with regular amps, or that could just mean he's really good at mixing and could make any amp sound good in a mix.... but I dont even know what a 800 is supposed to sound like, but i will be trying the free trial and see how it stacks up to the Marshall clones that come free in cakewalk. So far they've been my go to tone out of all the amp sims ive tried, albiet with a bunch of other plugins to dial them in. Most recently adding impedance curve before the IR that made it sound way better, I got that tip from another youtuber i never seen mentioned yet, i think it simulates the reactive load part of the equation you dont get with just an IR. I wonder if this is what paid AMP sims are doing since theirs always seem to be better than any IR i can load before i knew about this. You just load the impedance curve in the IR loader before your regular IR, so you got 2 plugins one going into the other and it makes a huge difference. That being said I was about to drop $120 for the Abasi Nueral DSP plugin i liked it so much, but after turning off the head, using my own amp sim with their cabinets, it sounded just as good, meaning it was the cabs that were making it sound awesome, a free amp sim was just as good with those cab ir's, but they also had some sweet delay and reverb so there's some good value there still. Anyone interested in the impedance curves check out this video /watch?v=t8EDqv3BvV0&t=445s
"Let's hear this in a mix" proceeds to play the score to every teenage comedy in the 00's
[Record scratch sound]. "You're probably wondering how I got into this situation..."
just to clarify: that's an awesome thing :D
Yes. But can we please have full version of that "full mix?" Gives off real nice Blink vibes! (but somewhat more metal)

That "in the mix" was very 00's pop punk.
"Let's go over to Low"
*clicks on High*
Nice Pop Punk mix at the beginning 😆
Just bought this yesterday. Really great amp sim.

Hearing fluff saying “Tiny, tiny bit”. Gold. Pure gold.
The sound in a mix was so good and then he just ended it so abruptly and I was sad
Definitely one of their best amp sims for sure
First off love that Burny! Gonna check the ML800
I use this on the lesft channel and an ML Plexi on the right and I get the most authentic tones I could ever dream of!
Sounds great...great review!
Sounds cool but doesn’t really sound like a jcm800 to me.
Fluff, if you haven't tried it yet, the Plugin Alliance Friedman BE-100 plugin is phenomenal. Give it a try. Their Deizel Herbert plugin is really good, too. 🤘🏻
And the Orange! Lol
Just checked out the Orange plugin, and it’s great, too. Sounds great with my Les Pauls. Very vintage sounding.
Sounds nothing like the JCM 800. Probably because those stock cabs are lacking bigtime. The only thing that perfectly nails the tone of my JCM800 is the UAD Marshall plugin.
Sounds great to my ears. Although my ears were destroyed by the duo of a JCM 800 & 900 as a drummer. Protect your ears kids!
Sounds killer. Seriously.
I bought it. And I love it.
Fight Fair called and they want their riff back! LOL Sick riff and sound! Gonna buy it tn!
man this thing sounds so damn good.
It would be pretty sweet if the IRs on this one were made available to the other ML sims in an update.
Anyone know how to backup saved presets? Great rock mix Fluff. 👍
Bruh... pushing that blue just a tad too much. Your eyes look like you've been to Arrakis! lol
I see a Dune reference and I hit thumbs up
That track in the beginning reminded me of Sum41 Into deep.
I’m curious about the delay. Will the timing of the delay match that of the DAW?
On freeware side The Modern Deluxe Plugin had the same sounds and features
Will these cabs work with the amped roots amp?
What’s up with the reverb cutting the volume?
Still no AAX for PC. :(. I’ve been wanting this since the original Roots sim... is the market for AAX PC too small to bother?
Yes, since ProTools isn't the only DAW on the scene anymore.

@@KaiDown Thanks I'll try that.
My wallet hates that ML keeps putting out all these high quality sims.
Probably cheaper than a real jcm tho

What guitar???
Gotta say, as an owner of a 2203x, this sounds way more like a subdued 5150 than a good JCM 800. Cool demo, though.
To be honest, not very impressed with this one. Really doesn’t resemble an 800 much at all to my ears. But to each his own. Great demo though Fluff.

I hear every bit of a jcm800. And a lot of tones from bands I know used marshall on their recordings as well.
*I'M THE 1,000TH VIEW! :D*
Try dimebuckers
First!
Sounds super muffled. Like you have a blanket over the cab or a half cocked wah. I'm gonna say pass.
Little too digital sounding on this one
