Hello! really cool video, you got my like :) I have had my warriors of rohan since I was a kid when I tried to paint them but it was really hard for me those days. Due to the pandemic I thought it could be a good moment to give it a second chance so I started painting. The thing is, I dont have almost anything of the needed material to do it properly and I dont know what should I get. How important is the first layer of primer black? If you could only use 4 or 5 colours to paint warriors of rohan, which colours would you chose?
Hey there, thank you for watching! A primer is quite important to build your layers on and for the paint to 'stick', I myself use spray paint, but you could also paint it on yourself if you prefer. The colours you'd need really depend on you though! For Rohan, I personally like the green, but I've seen people go with red or blue cloaks too. Secondly would be a metallic colour for the armour and maybe a brown for the cloth under it. Those three will cover most of the Rohirrim. I would also suggest to apply a brown wash. It will create some depth to the entire model, and you can cover both the cloak, armour and cloth with it. But of course, in the end it all depends on what you prefer to use yourself. I'd say give it a go, try some things out, see what you like! :D
A wash is a different sort of paint. It basically is a watery colour, but thinned to the exact amount. Adding water to your actual paint might make it too runny for an actual wash, or too thick, which would create another layer and might ruin your paintjob. Washes are used to stay in the deeper spots of a model to create some depth to them. For the cloak I use a brown was for instance, the metal a glossy black... :)
What miniature should I paint next? Let me know!
i would love to see your take on the gondor Units
@@MrDanielGaming Ah, interesting! I never really got to painting those, so perhaps I might! 😉
If you have any Warriors of the Last Alliance, I'd love to see you paint them :)
Only just saw this comment, sorry!
I think I should have some left, so might paint them in the future! 😉
Great job. I'm also for the warriors of the last alliance.

Thanks so much for the answer. Just to make sure: when you talk about a wash of a color, you mean a mix of water and the color, right?

how you do the red tunic¿?
Doombull brown as a base coat, followed by baal red. Then a red wash and finish with a dry brush of baal red with a small amount of white mixed in.
