Enjoying Middle-Earth Monday, keep those tutorials coming. We need enough to break the lines of Mordor ;)
That blatant seam down the middle of the back of the grey horse made me laugh, classic sculpts pretty sure these ones came with the magazine back in the day.
Sepia wash over the grey is lovely! I'm painting a 15mm Norman army atm. Loads of cavalry. So stealing that :)
Dont play LOTR, but just love your videos. ❤
The game is worth trying if you get the chance, it’s one of the best tabletop war games I’ve played
Perfect timing I'm about to start work on my Easterling Kataphrakts. Thanks for the middle-earth content
Any plans to look at some Halls of Thranduil? Some painting tips for schemes etc would be very useful 😅
Really loving Middle Earth Mondays, and a horse painting tutorial is always welcome! I think that in the books, it is stated that orcs steal Rohans horses, but only the black ones, so I guess in part that is the source of Nazgul horses? Also, Theodans horse (Snowmane) was white, so I sometimes wonder what a Royal Guard mounted on white horses would be like... Thanks again!
Dude i love youre paintjob on these. I'm a huge Lotr fan and you nailed it =) Looking forward to see you paint those riders. Love from germany as always
Cheers Max
Enjoying the vids, and really appreciate you saying the name of the paint followed by a description of the colour. Being colour blind it’s a great help
I primed a horse for a test of my minas tirith knights yesterday and was looking for inspiration. So this video is released at the perfect moment.
Looks really good. Rohan is one of my favorite good armies, but I am scared to death to finally start mine because of the horses!
Don't worry, horses scare everyone! Hopefully this video helped, remember they'll look a lot better with the riders and when they're in units, so don't get too caught up in details. You got this.
Couldn't be a more perfect timing! I am painting a diorama piece of some Rangers of the Night's Watch and I've been on the hunt for some good horse painting demonstrations.
Oh wow that sounds really interesting! Would love to see it if you're posting it anywhere!
Your horses look amazing and the tutorial is super easy. Awesome video my friend.
Once again you've made it look so easy, the ones i painted when LotR was first released looked like they were done by someone who had never seen an actual horse before 😂. I think the real question we should be asking though is... where was Gondor when the Westfold fell?
Keep it coming. I did a helpful build guide for these horses to make them a little more durable as they are sadly pretty fragile. I have close to 100 horses in my collection in a mix of painted, built and unbuilt.
Have you trademarked Middle-Earth Monday? If not would it be OK to use it for my upcoming series? I just need to make a dozen or so individual trees for my woodland board.
Sounds good pal. And no pal. The more people taking part in middle earth Monday the more the game grows.
These will look great for attilan rough riders, thanks for the video
Oh yes they would for sure! I did convert some attilan rough riders into krieg death riders, that tutorial might help too!
They look nice Andy. I think I'd go a little further with some glazing, but regardless I like how simple the scheme in. Definitely gave me some ideas for my Straud on hell horse mini from DnD.
Off topic, do you think you will ever do sanguinius ? I just finished building mine. Low key terrified to paint it tho 😂
@@MediocreHobbies Don't I know it. Wish I could send you the glorious hawk boy 😂. I'm actually about to start painting the lion within the next few days.
Hello. Greetings from Germany. Your videos are really helpful no matter if it is Warhammer 40k or Lord of the Rings. I paint both.
I have finished my Angron recently and I was wondering If it is possible to get some feedback from you by any chance. I am painting since 3 years now. I am currently working on Lion El Johnson and your video was a big help.
Keep up the great videos.
Next week is Rohan on the painting table and this video will be helpful.
Hopefully I don't sound rude and you can understand what I am trying to say😅
Not rude at all pal. Of course. Just tag me on instagram or if you join my Patreon you get access to my discord and can talk to me all
You want and share you work with a nice community.
Hi! Which primer is better for contrast? Grey seer or wraithbone?
I always use grey seer over chaos black, wraithbone is a lot lighter so contrast will show up brighter so it’s best to do a test depending on what tone you’re going for but 95% of the time grey seer will work for projects!
I'm supprised they don't update a lot of the LOTR range, I'm sure if they looked better a lot of people would pick them up for painting alone ( Seeing all the newer miniatures from both age of sigmar and 40k I know the level and tech they have now is much higher)
Yeah there are some newer models that are amazing for competition painting with the details they have now but I do wish the main range would get updated as well!
Per the two towers, the riders of Rohan don’t ride black horses because the orcs of Mordor and Isengard keep stealing them.
And it isn’t because black horses are evil. The orcs just think black horses are cooler.
You're style really resonates with me. Just enough to get the minis looking great. I get a bit fed up with channels where every mini is a masterpiece which I have neither the skill or patience to achieve.
Cheers pal. That’s one of the reasons I started the channel. So many channels out there thinking there teaching and there really only showing off. Glad it helps you.
