I'm looking into this for a solution to running my coax. Not too fond of drilling or those bulky pass throughs. How was the noise level? Did that thin cable cause more noise in either receive, transmit or, both? Great video! Thanks!
You could try a RG178 coax cable. It's the same thing (1.8mm cable), except the thin plastic/metal plate around it. And a 20 cm piece with two connectors doesn't cost more than 5 $/€/£...
There are some other, cheaper variants of this with BNCs on available on eBay (or sometimes screw type satellite receiver connectors), and it seems some people have used them for very short runs on low power from handhelds and the like. May be worth a go for a budget solution. Not really made for TX though.
Looks a great bit of kit if you cant go through walls or roof tiles . Keep it up tim 73 !
That's a fantastic piece of kit. I think i'll invest myself. Thanks Tim, 73' :)
Cheers buddy 👍
Is there a balun in each end box to convert from 50 ohms unbalanced coax to balanced ladder line and back again? Quite impressive.
Hi John. No Balun just the thin small piece of feeder. 73

Hi Scott. The losses are negligible owing to the short length. No issues with noise and it was very useful to use!

3 year check in. Hows it survived on 100w?
Changed my shack so not needed but still kept it.
