To be honest, I'm going to use a DIY pass-through, but I could watch your videos all day long. Very well done!

Good video mate. At least that unsafe tower climbing guy with the Hawaiian shirt is gone!

I have one of these and love it. Works very well. I replaced some of the options for something different so I had more so239 options.

I learned to use a dowel rod on the inside to keep it from being opened, but not before adding a small hook eye or something similar in case I wanted or needed to remove it to open the window. makes it easier. Can’t be too careful today

Sweet setup! Add another piece of wood to the other side and then find some additional wood and run it horizontally and bridging the two vertical pieces and carefully run a screw into the two pieces tying them together. Top and bottom to create a frame and it will not shake out from the frame. Are there provisions for grounding the metal frame? Grounding on the inside with Polyphaser or Alpha Delta protectors? You can add additional protection from break ins by getting some 3/8” Lexan polycarbonate cut to fit to the Frames of the window and using some backup straps of aluminum and screw it into the outer frame of the window. This is an option only if you don’t plan on opening the windows for ventilation.
I like the idea of a metal shed. Is it framed with steel or wood studs and is it insulated? I have been slowly restoring a military modular comms ISO container for my shack. I need to find a compatible connector for the power input to the unit and finish shelving inside. It has a large 45,000 BTU heat pump installed but it’s three phase and it’s not a modern efficient design. Now if I could just find one of the newer M1022 Mobilizers, I could move it from place to place.

Why not a utility box secured to the wall with pass through pipes though the wall? That way it can be locked and not creating an ingress point …

Well that’s pretty obvious mate, you would have to create some serious holes in the wall of the shack!!!!

@@nivid01 not really that’s exactly how I have mine running into my home. Through the wall.

it's very expensive for what it is... I bought a piece of scrap delrin and did the same thing with a bunch of 2.5 inch barrel connectors. cost me half as much

How do you think this would work with a crank open window that opens at an angle?

I have an MFJ 1622 apartment 1010 or no I really shouldn’t expect much from an apartment antenna but it really wasn’t that will put together loading coils a little loose. The little alligator clip came off the first day wasn’t solid right or good enough for the back spring maybe I’m just losing faith in MFJ products I think I buy anything else will be more expensive is an antenna. I guess it’s only one experience I’ve had but geez I could’ve done a better job soldering things I should I get the feeling that MFG is made from junk not mart nephew. I’m glad they’re American me, but I wish. Maybe they’d have a better quality control!

Hey guys, I am looking to put up a small DMR repeater in an urban environment however I don't want a crazy big tower in my back yard as I live in a residential neighborhood. How tall do you thing the antenna really needs to be to get about 3 miles of range out of the repeater. (will be making the repeater using 2 Motorola XPR mobiles)

For the $100 or so that these cost, they are a rip off. I wish another company made them with a better build quality.
