- Fishing the Beach for Bluefish in New England. At this point there wasnt much to catch in the salt so I was just happy to cast a metal as far as I could into the ocean and catch something.

Downunder here in Australia we call them Tailor and can be found pretty much everywhere.Sometimes called choppers because the fierce bite they have. I've caught a lot in our local esturine lake as well as the ocean.
Do you ever use steel leaders? Or do you find that the heavy florist is enough? Are use crimped 130 pound fluoro for musky liters. I’ve had blues cut through 30 and 40 pound floor leaders like it was nothing. Lost my Chug Norris to a second blue that hit the front of the lure that way. On a boat sitting up pretty high and watched it happen

Used to go out on the Miss Chris in Cape May for night time blues in the late 70's. They were called "slammers" and we would catch one after another and they were huge. People were given big canvas sacks to put them in. Average size was 20lbs but we had a pool winner at almost 30lbs. They still catching the big boys?
I use an swivel right before that castmaster lure for improved action.
