- (1967 ) Now that Laura is "dead", Elizabeth awakens from her coma and immediately wants to return to Collinwood. Victoria talks to David about his experience, but the only thing he remembers is the fishing shack. Victoria tells him that his mother had to leave town without him. After David leaves, Burke comes into the drawing room with Vickie and shows her Laura's locket, which he found in the ashes of the shack.

What a great end to this long story arc! This was so well done considering it was early in the history of television and this was a daily serial. At times it is a lot better now than it was when I was a child and watched this on original broadcast.

i just got hulu so i could watch dark shadows. i was so sad to find out that it did notbhave episodes 1-209. i am so happy that you shared these episodes, so we can all love this show together. thank you from a huge fan of this show ☺
Poor David....post traumatic stress disorder forever...won't even be able to enjoy s'mores by the campfire without having a flashback

Vicky has grown quite attached to David. I'm glad Laura is gone! Roger can be surprising in his actions towards David. It's touching
I expected him to hug David though. That would have been nice.
I miss the announcer at the end of the show when he would tell us about upcoming shows on ABC. Now all he says is "DS is a Dan Curtis production." I wonder what happened? :D

well he's written out of a lot of the episodes and everyone is always keeping secrets from him. But I think he realized Laura was up to something for the start, just nothing so magic-related or horrible.
Actually Laura's name was; Laura nee' Murdoch, Stockbridge, Radcliffe, Collins....
The "Phoenix" storyline is over. Yay! Now it's on to Jason McGuire's blackmailing of Liz.....
Lucky for David they didn't have smoke inhalation back then.
in the very last scene they were talking about a locket that he found in the rubble and then she said that one was found in Arizona in the fire and there's only one in the world then she said her name Laura's full name and they both said whoever that was
but the question is which one was it there were two of them, no there were 3 Laura's

I guess the clue as to where this story was going was in the Phoenix story itself when you think about it. They said earlier that the Phoenix would build a nest close to the SUN & that it was the SUN that would burn the nest up & the Phoenix would rise from the ashes. In this case, she built a nest close to her SON & it was David, her SON who set the fire that had he died with her would have caused her to be reborn from the ashes.
You've gotta love Roger though. He comes swooning in acting all inconvenienced because he had to come home early. True to form what does he do? You guessed it; he heads right for the brandy decanter! Oh Roger! If we played the drinking game with you, we'd all be smashed by now! LOL.
Miss Winters better tell him the whole story how he snuck out of the house
and ran to the fishing shack and then she appeared out of nowhere that's after he was hiding in the milk crate from the two men that came to look for him he evaded them and stayed and then she appeared like a girl in the night ,
yes this show is created and it's a TV show and it's fiction
but Roger should say to Miss Winters thank God for Miss winners because if she wasn't there David would have died with that evil entity from 200 years ago.
But there is only one bad thing when they were standing at the edge of the forest and David was watching it burning his mind was being absorbed by the fire and he kept
saying fire fire fire fire I must go save my mother, this might be a continuation of an idea for episodes down the road Little David growing up saying fire fire fire

How could Laura have been reborn after the fire in Phoenix & again after the fire in the fishing shack? I thought the Phoenix only died every 100 years.
Laura in Arizona was the real Laura Collins. The spirit of the Pheonix had killed her in the fire, and took on her identity, until the time came for her to die. Then according to the writers rise again in 2067 in another Laura Collins. Whatever. I'm just glad she's gone, because I was tired of her.
Thank you for explaining that, it just lost me on that one. Yeah, I'm glad that story line is over too, it was dragging on far too long.
Because she is an evil spirit. They are all around us, also angels. They know all about us, and what we have said and done. "Ghosts" are really demons ( evil spirits on the side of satan). That's why some people who think they have seen spirits of their dead relatives say that those spirits they have seen know the things that their dead relatives knew. So they are conned into believing that they are their relatives. The dead do not stay here on earth. Our spirits either go to Heaven or hell. Depending on the choice we make.
Liz has to get back soon, Roger is such a PUTZ!

OK, so we're OK for now, everyone's safe and happy, a truce has been declared between the warring parties. How many episodes do we have before the next tragedy takes shape? Maybe it's about time for someone to get fired from the cast even??

I love watching the Dark Shadows series. However, David Collins just "drives me nuts" with his stupidity. And Victoria Winters gets too over dramatic in her roles. I know it's the actors acting their roles, but it tends to go overboard too much at times.
Roger could not give his son a hug and say how happy he is to see him. ...naa... this is DS and the 60's.
Vicky was 18 years olds at the time David is a superior actor for his time
