I first heard this tune on Tony Rice's "Manzanita" album, and that did it. Bought an HD-28, and the heaviest flatpick the store had. GDCGCGAD, etc. for a year.
Blackberry Blossom is a fine tune for taking bluegrass around the bend like these guys do. Scott has recorded some of the most tasteful, wideranging music for flatpicked guitar.
I still like this song after 400 years of playing it. Love both of these dudes picking.
Listen to the tone of those Thompson’s outstanding!!

Flawless and fresh !
Finally a technical virtuosity but a proper great sounding guitar playing.
Made my day lot better.
Beautiful
Great playing from you both.Loved it.
And that Scott's guitar,what a tone!
Great playing! Those guitars sound awesome!
Such a sweet Bluegrass Song!.... we would play it for 15 minutes, or more!!🎶🎵🎶
These cats can 'scratch it! 👍👍Very tasteful rendition of a great old flatpicking tune!

That’s some tasty pickin lines through them chord changes.
Check out "Beaten to the Puncheon," by Scott Nygaard. If you like this, you will love that.
Very nice!... anybody knows the name of the tune at the end (starting at 2:42)
sounds like Temperance Reel
@@benjaminaltman9135 yes it is Temperance reel! Very much appreciated, Thank you!
This is my favorite tune of all time guys
I have listened to quite a few videos to figure out the basic melody but everyone plays all kinds of stuff that isn't really part of the melody.
I hear a little Mark O'Connor I think?
Guitar on the left actually sounds better
Was Lester Nygaard the brother of Scott? Awesome music.
