A lot of people here saying' how lucky you are Daniel,' and maybe so, but I'd me more inclined to say that is an absolutely fantastic guitar performance! Plus the added pressure of playing together with a globally recognised star of American bluegrass music - and you handled that beautifully. Well done and thanks for the post. Keep up the good work and best of luck - you're going places!
my parents played in a bluegrass band when I was young and this brought me right back to sitting on the porch as a kid and listening to them practice inside :)
Wow! Sierra Hull! I saw her a couple of years ago performing at the Grand Ole Opry! She was great! She reminds me of Alison Krauss. Great job Daniel! I finished my studio so I'm ready to record your next album!!
So cool. "You live around here?" After playing. It's great you have the presence to hang in there, and sweet she is game for this kind of thing. Thanks for posting.
I'll never understand why people within 25 feet of music like this don't stop yakking and rattling pots and pans and all manner of nonsense and take a moment to actually listen to the miraculous interaction between these two outstanding musicians.
Daniel we hope to see you out here pickin and grinning at Telluride or Rockygrass! As a rhythmically challenged white man I try to support those that get my toes tapping without me having to think about getting my toes tapping! Namaste Y,all!
Wow. just amazing,no stress for these 2 excellent musicians, it looks like Sierra was possibly using her thumb fingernail as a pick..not sure... just "talent"at its best.superrrr, 100-100
Bro, I don't know, but it looked like she was into you. Don't know it was "that way" or musically, but I hope you guys can play together again. Sounded great because you have a good rapport together.
Obviously those years at Berklee College helped her playing. IMO shes the best female mando player in the US. Good on guitar too! Now if she could only sing as well as Rhonda Vincent. Her voice is ok but......
arthur ogle she’s not Rhonda.. she’s Sierra. There’s nobody like either of them. Sierra’s voice is great and she is her own musician with her own style just like Rhonda is. It’s comments like this that make me not want to sing in front of people... someone’s always judging you or comparing you to somebody else instead of appreciating what you have to offer.
Women in music ... Soooo many of them are concerned with them ... being women ... that the music is "second priority". This one ... yes: earrings, long hair, make-up ... she's a woman after all ... no problem! ... but she's a MUSICIAN first and foremost! Allison Krauss is another example. The Ladies may be as cute, attractive and sexy as they like ... without that factor we wouldn't be here as a race ... but I prefer women who just CONTRIBUTES to life! A female touch ... yes, we juz luuuv it ... but NOT if it is the MAIN PRIORITY! I simply can't stand good looking chicks who sings or plays just to "show the goods". I should NOT mention names here ... Sierra's voice may sound like "any" woman ... like most women do, but she's a GREAT musician!
That was amazing -great job playing with her and she absolutely killed it as well!
Daniel, you killed it! That was some fantastic guitar picking.

Great duet! Both of you. Awesome.
And great camera! Must have been hard not to move with that cool groove going on there.
Superb rendition. Both players. The tone, arrangement and propulsive rhythm are amazing. Sierras tone is PHAT.
Great pickin' and playing... the Bluegrass Renaissance continues!
a great job! I have teardrops in my eyes. Beautiful. BG 100%!
You funked it up in a great way. Loved your version.
Wow, great job, Daniel. It's like playing with Mozart. It worked beautifully.
Truly incredible!
That was dang good, even better now 7 years later, I'm sure!
Made me smile. Thanks
Every time I’ve played a mandolin outside!!! The TUNING

Daniel we hope to see you out here pickin and grinning at Telluride or Rockygrass! As a rhythmically challenged white man I try to support those that get my toes tapping without me having to think about getting my toes tapping! Namaste Y,all!
Very nice duet.

Sierra is incredible. Her picking rivals that of the legendary Sam Bush.
Magical x2
Well done.
She is beautiful.
LUCKY you, Daniel! And how kind of you, Sierra. Daniel, is your Martin a D28 or D35? You are superb and its evident that you love your music.

Good job Daniel !
DAMN!
Quick Q: when do I stop worrying about bringing my Martin outside?
She makes it look so easy , I heard a female player on NPR that was young & an Amazing Picker. Seriously as good Sonia Isaacs.
Good to see that even Sierra Hull delays a jam by trying to keep the damn mando in tune lol
Who do you study for Bluegrass guitar?
Brent Kennicott I study under Bryan Sutton at Artistworks.com
She plays like a bird sings!
Nice!
Lol. The face at 3:23
YEAH!!!!1
sweeeeet
First 25 seconds proves what my fantastic mando teacher, Sims Delaney-Pothoff, said about the mandolin--"Nobody can ever tune a mandolin perfectly"
Bro, I don't know, but it looked like she was into you. Don't know it was "that way" or musically, but I hope you guys can play together again. Sounded great because you have a good rapport together.
I thought the same thing. He should've asked if he could call/text her.
Who says he didn't?! @@vonormykirk

Bluegrass, it’s not just for boys anymore (sam bush)
Got identical guitar but doesn’t sing like that.... maybe I will swap with him.
Um. Killer.

Typical...it turns out she doesn't even know this boy...
amanda beadle and what is that supposed to be “typical” of?
@@jysmtl typical in the sense that strangers can walk up to each other and jam and sound as good as any group on stage...unique to bluegrass
amanda beadle cool! Thanks.
Rediculous
