They stick the word "core" basically onto any idea that's always existed. For example, the simplicity movement "voluntary simplicity " was happening 30 something years ago. Think too tight wad gazette. These things have always existed, and I was very into the "simple cottagy" way to live. Now they just say core or aethetic and most are just into the appearance and not the bones of the movement. At least that is how I see the word core used from my 18 yo and her friends. It's honestly caused a lot of confusion in my house. Like...these things, these ideas are not new but to get the attention of genz or even younger mellinials they have to put the word "core" onto an idea. Don't get me started on all the variations they've come up with for goths...like I'm a genxer so I am intimately familiar with goth and punk, having been a little of both, but bow there's like 10 different goth types. Yes, I realize I'm just making myself look old here...but I hope at least I helped you understand, lol
