    Interesting how all the talk revolves around peloton stock decline is a sign that the company is failing. The stock surged too much during the pandemic, that’s not the company’s fault. It’s now coming back down to a more normal price per share and with millions more users and devices in circulation. I’ve had a peloton bike since Feb 2018 and it’s really come in handy for our family over the last four years, and it’s built like a tank.

      The company used issued shares to borrow against. That’s why we’re talking about it. If the share prices is too low those banks are gonna want their payments in cash instead of stocks. If they can’t afford to pay because the company makes no money. Then the company goes out of business. There are a lot business channels on UA-cam that teach you the fundamentals of business. I recommend you mix them in with your regular UA-cam watching. 👍🏿

    Honestly, I got the bike and it’s just different. I basically build my home gym since the pandemic and never turn back! I can do it in my own schedule and on demand classes or live classes are just amazing! The instructors are just different than any others!

    • @Celineanddino
      @Celineanddino 2 роки тому +3

      I find most of the instructors to be amateurish. Did Peloton for 2 years when there was nothing else out there. When Apple Fitness came out gave it an earnest try and now only do Apple. So much more professional in program design, trainers, video quality.

    Is this really a surprise?? - it appeared to be a limited company with little diversified product range trying to capitalise on the pandemic which would obviously be short lived.
    A bike is a couple grand which was never cost effective compared to a gym membership which gives you unlimited equipment. How it obtained capital in the first place is beyond me.

      @Roger Vieira seems like a lot more like going to the gym, than using a Peloton bike at home. This company had a limited shelf life and had idiots running the company.

    Peloton was designed for a niche market under an unprecedented event in covid. 1. You have to want or need to workout. 2. You need disposable income 3. You need the space in your home. Gyms closing also helped.

    If Peleton really thought everyone could afford one, then they are incredibly unaware of how life works. Additionally, let’s just say folks really could afford the bike or treadmill. Their subscription model is laughable in tandem with the hardware pricing. Stack the logistical issues on top of that and the safety issues and you have a “do almost everything wrong” type of playbook.

During 2020 and most of 2021 we were not allowed to exercise in large group formations so we worked out individually. Now that Im back at work and PT during normal hours and go to the gym to lift i only peloton like once a week if that. I love the app for guided out door runs and meditation and thats only $12.99 so why continue to pay $45 for the bike subscription for a bike i use once a week? Im considering selling.

      +Absolutely predictable. Given the price point, the addressable market was obviously limited. The target market (luxury) is also notorious for demanding what is in short supply and turning their nose up at what is available.
      Covid lockdowns were an obvious demand spike that could not last. They treated it like everyone in the world would want to pay their crazy price forever.

      It's also a cultural thing. Over-the-top and direct marketing work better in Latin American (think "GOOOOOOOOL") and the Middle East than in the USA. I don't know that everyone that tried Peloton was compensating for anything specific other than being barred from gyms. The early pandemic was a weird time, with some legitimately feeling like we would NEVER return to big events, big gyms and the office again (probably introverted wishful thinking on the part of a loud few). In that mindset, Peloton was smart and big box gyms appeared to be in trouble... the thing is that the world return to normal and we got back to our routines, of which Peloton wasn't one. No amount of marketing can change or alter that fundamental reality.

    It was clearly an advertising driven boom while people were stuck in their homes. But when they realized that there was nothing really there but another overpriced piece of junk they bailed. Like a lot of these kind of scams (can you say Therinos), there is no real value just hype and the only people that have anything left at the end are the original scammers. What about criminal charges for those that are publicly saying the everything is alright but at the same time selling all their own stock.
