The hike is around 7.4 miles total but really isn't too bad! Just a bit rocky in parts. I'll put a link to the NYNJ Trail Conference entry on the route in the video description. Hope that helps!
Wow this place looks amazing, how long a hike was this? If its mostly level and not too too long. I've been looking for some new places that have nice views but not too strenuous so i can take my parents on a nice hike next spring.
There are some steep parts…. I’m 64, and overweight and I have to stop and rest mid- climb on the steep parts. ( I’ve piggy-backed my little grandchildren, though) Most is pretty gentle slope upward and I don’t have to rest on those. Must bring drinking water. Parking was $10 last year. Nice Restrooms at the nice building at the parking lot.
Videos like this has caused these hidden secrets to become very overcrowded with people that don't care how/where they park, or picking up after themselves. Glad you had a good time but, for those of us that live and grew up here, it's sad to see the increasing influx of people these social media videos have caused. All they do is lure people that just don't care to keep a secret or respect of Mother nature. I do apologize for pointing that out.
I appreciate the comment, Erik! I actually created an updated version of this video that mentions the increase in park visitation and the importance of practicing Leave No Trace principles. if you would like to watch that video, tune in here: ua-cam.com/video/DzHi08q6x80/v-deo.html It is my hope that through educational content like this, people will learn the importance of respecting nature - and through that respect - be more eager to protect these special places. #fingerscrossed 🤞Thank you for your feedback 🙂
