AirPro K, one of the things I didn't like about the announcers was they kept bashing Wimbush over and over throughout the game which I thought was unnecessary. Once you say it enough in the 1st Qtr, I think everyone gets the picture, but over and over and almost every play was getting to be ridiculous and we couldn't hear any good points for other players making catches and running for yards. As a ND Fan, I think we tend to get bashed a lot by the media covering the games we play, so enough is enough. Ian Book did very well and yes we are all happy to see that he is on the field starting. But we need to see his performance up against Stanford and VT and so on, not just WF... a mediocre team. Plus I see different and better play calling in this game, which I was irritated about in the last 3 games. Even though Wimbush bared most of the blame for the last two games, I still say there are ongoing concerns on the offensive line. They have to get tougher so that Ian isn't running into problems and having to rush his passes. They have to do a better job upfront to create more lanes for the RB's too. We looked good in this game, but we have to do more on offense to lead this time to winning the rest of its games on the schedule. WF was not impressive to me at all, they looked very weak on both Offense and Defense. Other than that, Go Irish!!!
AirPro K, I was referring to WF who to me looked extremely weak as a team. I think overall Vandy played us the hardest, but WF was not the team they were last season... thank God. In the meantime, I still feel that although we have a good defense, we can also get better as well. Some poor tackling that I noticed in all four games, that will hurt us in the long run if we don't step it up. I worry about Bryce Love on Stanfords offense in terms of his quickness and ability to make people miss or lose contain. I think our offense can and will move the ball on Stanford but our defense will be KEY to winning this game. Their QB is a big man who can pass and they have Whiteside who can catch just about any pass thrown at him. We have to toughen up against Stanford and know that if we stop the run, they will pass on us. But Stanford doesn't stop running... no matter how bad their ground game is. They advertise what they are going to do and they do it. Thats why its crucial for us to be on our P's and Q's in this game because it will never be a one dimensional game no matter how bad it is... Stanford doesn't do one dimensional at all. The Eye test for ND this season is not like the eye test a season ago. My eye test for ND especially when I compare them to other Top 10 teams is that, they seem to be unenergetic or just lacking energy that others play with. I'm not sure what thats about... Sometimes I feel its what BK brought to ND, but I don't know what it is. Last season, they had the energy in the first 6 games but then gave us the "deer in the headlights" look when playing Miami. I'd like to see BK prepare them better so we see the same thing consistently throughout our entire season. Have you noticed that though? I mean look at ND in 88' and see how every player use to play with a certain spirit and compare that to how they look now. I know that was in a different era but it still shouldn't matter, they should still play with the same energy and pride as their past teams did back then. That kinda energy is what you see in the top 5 teams this year, which is what we showed in the first 6 games last season. Maybe I'm too critical of them... Idk, I just want to see them bring that certain moxy and pride out like they use to in the good ole days. Go Irish!!!
martini stirred, I see how you discredited Wimbush from the Mich St and USC games and that to me is wrong. I think Wimbush has a lot to do with the winning of those two games. It would be like me saying Boykins' extraordinary catch was the reason we beat LSU. Lets not be like other schools' fans, lets credit our players as they deserve. I too am happy that Ian Book is starting but now we need will have a test up against a real team in Stanford. Go Irish!!!
martini stirred, if we would have started Book earlier we would've had a more successful season last year? Really? What in the world does that even mean? we would've beaten Ga and perhaps Miami to? The play offs? the National title? You are not making any sense. What does that mean "a more successful season" please tell me....
"Michael Young, the freshman...who is a sophomore from Louisiana...." We know, our class eligibility is a bit confusing...since we don't "technically red-shirt". I just thought that was a funny comment.
Re-watching this video to see our '23 starting QB in action. Go IRISH!!!
Ian book and Sam hartman are really good qbs
Crazy to see this now knowing that Sam hartman is our guy
That freshman QB for Wake looked promising. ND should keep tabs on him moving forward.
Awesome highlight video! Exactly what I was hoping to find! Go Irish!

I def agree with a lot of what you say but when you are referring to not looking strong on both sides of the ball, witch team are you talking?

ND doesn't "technically red-shirt?" Uh ... where does that come from? ND absolutely "technically red-shirts."
