You’ve gathered a treasure chest here from one of our most iconic, defining rock bands. I had the good fortune to speak to them between sets at The Rat this same year (with The Shirts) and to Elliot and Greg more recently before a Boston Legends show. Humble all the way with a rock n’ roll heart. Thanks for putting this together. ✌️
I love these recordings! Thank you so much! Nostalgia is the hardest thing to describe I think 😊 Are you still collecting info about their soundtracks on movies as I found a new and recent one the other day 😀
Wow, Ric on vocals of “Bye Bye Love.” Thankfully this song got turned over to Ben to sing. Would never have been the mega hit it became if recorded with Ric. Makes me wonder if, in the final years, if Ric had let Ben sing more of the better songs on the albums they might have charted a lot higher.
I think the same as well. The later musik was all about Ric, especially in the musik videos. I think the others got a bit disenchanted about the whole thing; the grueling recording of Heartbreak, Benjamin seemingly tossed to the back of the bus even though he was co-founder and in my opinion the better singer.
"Come Back Down" is a blatant appropriation of the Velvets' "If She Ever Comes Now" -- cool!
Two Fabulous sets, Donna, so down to earth the perfect club band! Big or small I love the Cars! ❤

Love this! And I'd never heard City Lights before so an especially fun find. They certainly did not take it easy on the encore!
