      @@cursedhawkins1305Sony wouldn't have spent the 400 millions in that situation, 200 millions were already spent BEFORE Sony bought the studio. Sony just spent 200 millions in development on top of that, and all that money doesn't even include the cost to buy the studio.
      And as for it not being believable, we know for a fact that Sony currently has multiple games in development with higher budgets (400M+) and that the info came from inside Concord's studio, so it's more than "a rumor" at this point

    Concord also had put itself into an impossible task; they had promised more characters (even to rival Overwatch/Rainbow-6:Siege), they had promised multiple maps with "variations," when in truth all they had was 4 maps reskinned to different themes without any reason except it looks cool but doesn't effect gameplay (one round they got volcano mountain, next match they got same mountain but it's all covered in ice).
    But by implementing the 'diversity rival' concept where each character is 're-skinned' with irregular "class abilities" they had stonewalled the ability to make or introduce new characters to play. limiting the entire character roster to what they had at launch, seven characters.

      My understanding is that the figure is unconfirmed, but I do think $350-400M is possible. 6-8 year development, 100+ devs, heavy emphasis on motion capture (which ain’t cheap), they thought this game was going to be a hit so they probably invested in a massive server infrastructure to support it, a lot of outsourcing, and the studio is in Washington state (not cheap to live or work there).

    As a side on the whole coming up with an interesting game design idea, I very much enjoyed the invasion game mode in halo reach. I'm not fully sure atm how to flesh it out into a whole game but me thinks it could work as a base for a hero team shooter maybe. Sure, it a fairly basic king of the hill tug of war mode but maybe lean into it with roles like hacking, scouting etc. Like team fortress 2 but if the classes were more specialized instead of a different method to score kills.

    • @Rokkettdog
      @Rokkettdog 16 днів тому

      As an ex: different classes could and would focus on things other than killing the other team, like the commanders in natural selection. Have defending engineers set up mines, auto defenses. Defending hackers set up detections like cameras to watch for intrusion. Attacking scouts that sniff for traps to call out for their team so the fort breakers can set breach charges in good spots. Maybe close to rainbow six but larger scale with possibly both teams having a base and players filling roles for defense and offense at the same time. Less combat focused classes would have more escape options to incentive non death match gameplay and more tactical strategy.

The fact that she isn't human, and that she only really fights other non-humans makes the CG feel way more at home, unlike Berserk that had mostly humans which looked unatural.
      Nah, the worst part of the show is, surprisingly, the 2D parts. Because, good lord, the human side of the story is SO FREAKING BORING. It feels stilted and cheap, while the spider parts are fun, enjoyable and all.
      I gotta admit I don't know much about what they outsourced or not, so I can't just blindly give credit to the studio. But looking at it from the outside view without knowing about all that, the 3D is pretty fun overall.
