I was reading an archery manual from the middle ages, it said that when you are shopping for a bow it is a good idea to pull it back to your drawlength in the shop before you buy it because it was very common for new bows to break. It sounds like inferior products have been around for over 600 years.

That is so cool.Where do you even find that manual

@@Alexanderofthe9th "Toxophilus" written in 1545. You will be able to read about 90% of the words, the rest make no sense. For example; "Divers" is there way of spelling "diverse".

I started with a Black Hunter recurve but I bought the bow on its own and a better quality arm guard, tab, bow stringer and so on.
I've been very happy with this, I now have more expensive, better quality bows yet I still enjoy my low poundage BH recurve

The 30 lb version of this bow was delivered to my house two days ago. LOL I came to the same conclusion you did sir. I couldn't buy the materials to build a bow for less than I could buy this one for. I still hope to build one some day, but I've wanted to get into archery for a while, and this looks to be a good way. Thanks!

Due to past serious shoulder injuries I have had to sell ALL of my bow equipment. I have been wanting to get back into archery but with no luck finding a decent low poundage bow that I can draw properly. Because of you and your video of this particular bow, it the 30 pound draw, I will be looking into that one. I know that if I were to purchase it, my children would enjoy it as well.
Please keep up your AWESOME videos as they are extremely informative and helpful.

About 2 years ago I found your video on how to make a longbow for 15 bucks, and since I was wanting to make a bow, I did it. Of course, that bow broke because I messed it up, but it sent me down a road that caused me to start selling my own bows out of PVC pipe. I've sold around 35 now, and have made probably somewhere around 75. This channel helped get me into archery, which is something that I love. Thanks!

Thanks to your videos I just started archery this summer after trying it a few times younger, I bought the cheapest 30-35lbs recurve I found. Very second day I took the handle off and made a custom one from birch, been hitting target from 10 meters now pretty much 90% of the time. Im thinking about upgrading and your videos are very educational! Maybe some day Ill be good enough to invest in your bow 😂

I being a person that only shoots recurves with metal risers & only American made recurves bows with American made limbs , I have seen people take a cheap Chinese bow & tweak it just a bit & shoot it as well as hunt with it just fine , I’ve seen them last 2 minutes & I’ve seen them last for well over 25 years . It’s just about how well of a bow you want , doing your research on the bow as well as the company that makes them , the up keep of the bow & knowing all the secrets on how to make any bow work well & how much you want to spend on any bow .

my wife and son started 3 years ago with a 45 p Samick Sage $100, and two Core Argery bows 30 p each. $69 each..'All take down bows' . We shoot almost every day and they held up fantastically. With the same string, still. I change them in a month or so. We are happy. We gradually went from cheap arrows to real carbon arrows and we shoot well. (Not the Lars Andersen stuff though)😁

    Kramer,
First off, I am an avid viewer of your videos. For a while, u was leaning into another youtuberer who has appeared on a certain TV show that rhymes with "a bone" and has a book available about bow making. His stuff is knowledgeable but honestly not nearly as down to earth and realatable as yourself. So, you qin my award for best bow making vidwo maker. I just wanted to tell you (and your staff) that, secondly, when ever I am in your area we have to meet at your shop. I have to get to know you because there are so many subtle differences between your experience and my own that not only do I know I can learn a lot from you but I think we will get on well and have a good time talking shoo. Probably sounds weird but I don't mean it to be. I just have a gut feeling that you and I have something worth sharing.
Hopefully in the future... Keep the content flowing .

I just bought a "Genuine" Left Handed Samik Sage 62in 60lb & apart from a very little finish (tiny bubbles) on about 1/4 inch on the riser it is perfect, it draws 61.6lb & it has a lovely release & I paid £60 for this delivered with a spare string & that Stringer you showed, why so cheap? the guy had a load of LeftHanded risers & offered all the limbs at the same money hoping that people would only buy the lighter ones, it's a really nice bow for the money, I also recently purchased a 70lb(67lb in reality) Compound Bow for £90, this came with almost everything including 12 arrows of pretty fair quality, it's only real drawback is its relatively heavy at around 5lbs but for the money, it is pretty good, I dropped it out of a tree about 9ft+ on to hard ground & it was fine. ?There are some bargains out there, but there is also a huge amount of Shite, even some at BigMoney, the price doesn't always reflect the quality. An excellent post, thank you.

Re strings coming with a bow as opposed to picking which string you want to buy with the bow. The string on two bows I've purchased the serving was centred. I.E. there was no top or bottom to the string and no matter how I strung the bow the server ended exactly where I would install the top nocking point. In other words, using the Mediterranean release, my top finger is on the bow string the server doesn't go that far.
I can't find the GLASSHARRIER Creative XP for sale online at this time, 24Nov22 (about a day after Kramer posted this review). Eventually found it sold out, though more expensive. It sounds like a perfect beginners or guest bow.
    Loved your review.
I knew the Black Hunter is a bow whose makers supply the same bow build for others to rebrand as their own bow, Black Hunter • Glass Harrier • Deer Seeker. Delighted, you share some of the other brands of the same bow. GUANGE • Sharrow Lol! To name but a few more.

Hey guys, another great video. I ended up with the Blackhunter longbow, have since gotten recurve limbs for it up through 45#. That is a fine shooting platform for beginners like me. After that I got one of your bows, another great shooting bow which I love, it’s at 35#. Another bow I bought, before watching your negative review, was the $86 TopArchery 56” TD recurve at 40#, just received 45# limbs for it yesterday. I know you reviewed this bow as it came, but this is a great bow with minimal input. First I replace the continuous loop string with one of yours, my flipper rest did not fit but I had already ordered a plunger and flipper set up from Lancaster, it was cheap. I then installed some beaver fur string silencers and after some shooting have come to the determination that it’s my favorite shooting bow, but hey, I just started down this archery rabbit hole. Thanks again for great videos!

I really like the Black Hunter bow. It isn't a trad bow. The manufacturer is like most others, making something for a living. It's not a scam and it's not junk but it certainly isn't the quality of your equipment.
A raw beginner isn't going to buy your expensive quality equipment. So these bows are actually a positive for you.
It's the red-tape salespersons in this world who piss me off, not people who add value to society.

Manufacturing cost: bigger than labor is the cost of the plant. Overseas doesn't have business capital tax, real-estate tax, lease usage surcharges, add-on fees to the utility bills, worker's comp insurance, liability insurance, employer paid retirement tax, and lots of others. It costs about 1/10th as much to operate a factory there compared to here.
