if you are in the market for a new laptop I would recommend an ASUS due to how they are manufactured now compared to HP, Dell, Gateway, etc today. I would go with the Asus i5 20gb Ram 512 SSD drive on Amazon. After struggeling with the official options provided by Acer (Press Alt-F10 on startup, wich did not work) - the SHIFT-Restart-thingy worked for me. Thanks mate!
When I hold shift & push restart, it doesn’t let me go further, it will load and then say “Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart.” It won’t let me factory reset my computer from my settings either
Well I did the shift restart Ok then I chose the troubleshoot option That brought me to Advanced options UEFI FIRMWARE SETTINGS STARTUP SETTINGS Went into them both and no reset option was available

Thank you for this video. My mom gave me this computer and we couldn’t find the old password and I really needed it and couldn’t afford a new one
