- One hundred years and one day from our grandfather's opening and starring in the "Ziegfeld Follies", June 21, 1915, "W.C. Fields Centennial Celebration at the New Amsterdam", June 22, 2015. “...different views of the ‘W.C. Fields Centennial Celebration’ are visually arresting and engaging and fun. Looks like an infectious good time.” Steve Friedman, event photographer.
W.C.Fields was perhaps THE GREATEST comedic genius of the 20th Century. He CERTAINLY belongs in the top five.
His grandson looks, talks and behaves exactly like W.C.
Love it.. I'm a great fan of Mr. Fields a genius he was.....
It’s like these people are living their lives off of WC Fields name. I love watching WC Fields movies. He was a great actor, entertainer, and a master juggler. He must be up in Heaven right now saying, live your own lives stop living off of mine. Lol
RIP Mr. Fields!!!!!
THE GOOD PART starts around 20:40 into the video. Dick Cavett, as always, is articulate and interesting.
It's a Gift. A timeless comedy.
Bravo! 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you for sharing.
John Cleese did a video talking about how he learned about W.C.Fields. His impression was that Fields was doing Monty Python-esk jokes decades before Monty Python came out.
Is it just me or does his grandson Ronald look just like WC?
@ Are you sure you are not thinking of Armitage Shanks??
You look just like WC. It’s you

"Tartuffle? What kind of a tartuffle, man or woman? Are there two different kinds? " a dictionary definition of this term is sadly lacking, but a tartufo is an edible fungus, like a white truffle. Uncle Bill's use of the term, I might add, thoroughly confused the Google speech-to-text engine when I said the word to it repeatedly: kartoffel, tartufo, kartoffel, talk couple, takaful, nothing but the comment artiful, TARTA for you sir are that very thing, tart apple, takaful... And in Phantom I mean Etc to Infinity
A few funny WC memories. Ah yes, Drink...one of the greatest pleasures in life. CHEAP...it cost me $5 a gallon! On our excursion to Afghanistan we lost our corkscrew...we had to go for days, on food and water. I bought a wonderful club in Toronto, yeah, a Canadian Club. Why do you drink so much...cause I like it.
I noticed today that WC is even funnier, if you slow the playback speed down to about 80-85%. :)
Mr.Cavet, Mr. Fields has a copy rite on his act which includes his sound. This is an active file for his grandson perhaps and using W.C's act to endrandise oneself is perhaps ridiculous.
If I need a laugh, I just put on WC Fields...
