Head to: 885 E Highway 66. Peach Springs, AZ 86434
Visit the Fish & Game Office to obtain your permit for $16.27 per person (Debit/Credit Cards preferred) next to the Walapai Market.
If you plan on doing anything other than driving, I suggest consult with the Tribal Council Administration Building up the road on the right across from the Boys & Girls Club to remain respectful and ask for any special permission to the Hualapai Tribe.
The road can be traversed via SUV or truck, but no 4-wheel drive is needed when it's fairly dry. It gets a little wet near the end; for remaining mile down the road to Colorado River.
It's a lot of fun, and there's no where else you can have a cheap adventure, that benefits the Hualapai Tribe with your permit fees, and a super unique experience to drive your car to the bottom of the Grand Canyon to the Colorado River.
