Yeah, I see gray and purple. I think you have the tire the right way. Rim goes inside and the lip presses against the thin wall of the tire. Like the sprint car rear tires. Have a peaceful weekend.
Those rims look lot better with the outer ring inside the tire. Agree, the paint is nowhere close to the color on cap. I would paint the interior white and do the inserts the blue body color would look good IMO. Have a great weekend buddy and see you in the hangouts tomorrow. Senior
Can u say Burble! Tamiya is known for that carpet don’t match the drapes if u know what I mean! That’s my experience. Get r done Brian. Excited to see it finished!😎✌️🫡🇺🇸
Yeah dude, those colors don't even come close to the caps lol wth? The chrome looks awesome though!! I think white with the blue flocking carpet would look awesome!!
Never fun when the paint does not match what you are expecting from a cap or card. I've continued to use more automotive paints, before was just painting the bodies but now I've been using more of the bases for interior and chassis work as well.
That sure is interesting. I wonder what you might get if you mix the light blue (gray) with the dark blue (purple) together? LOL. Plan B seems to work out better . lol The color blind guy at Tamiya , should not be in charge of paint mixing. lol
As far as Tamiya paint goes I usually look at the bottom of the bottle. Paint some on a sprue first to see the true color after drying. Being your build Its difficult to tell you which color to use. Hope that helps. I;'ll be watching
Hi 😊 You should prime with white primer. What you call medium blue is not medium dua right, medium of any color is where there is no white or black add it the base color and it a saturated color. And it looks like with the dark blue had a thing of red because it is purple. The light blue is dulled down with a little black And white. What to do new paints😢. Here is a tip and I do believe you are capable of doing this. Mix your own , I do. In fact if you have all if the primary colors you can mix any color you would ever want . I did the for over 30 years with my WW1 aircraft , blues, purples goose turd brown ,lilac.match your mix to the exterior color but not metal flake, I did and still doing that to my C2 wide body. And the exterior color of my vett is hand mixed also. Sorry I do understand your problem it sucks, bad
Thanks BD. Yeah I’m not gonna be doing a lot paint mixing like that but you’re probably right that a white primer would have helped with that blue. May not have done much for that “light blue” though. One unfortunate thing is that the only white primer I’m aware of it Stynylrez and I’m not a big fan of because of terrible tip dry with it even when thinning it and adding some sort of flow aid doesn’t seem to help.
I recently ran into a similar issue with the that tamiya blue for the buggy. It looks purple to me also. I had sprayed it on a spoon beforehand but yeah same issue. I ended up using a cheap blue that came with my airbrush. Not as easy to lay but it was blue so theres that lol
Those rims look good, an the way you installed it in the tire s exactly the way they fit....
Thanks JD
That sucks the paint wasn’t what you were expecting. We all run into that problem on occasion. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching Micheal

Nice. The only automotive type paint I use for interior and chassis stuff is automotive fast dry acrylic enamels. They work well for that.
Paint can be a headache, hope you work it out Brian.😊
Thanks David
Bahaha Tamiya caps are, at best, suggestions. I've been struck by that before. Sorry you're having issues. For what it's worth the parts look good.
Yeah I guess I’m gonna need to start doing testing. Thanks Justin

Lol. I don’t know if he is colorblind but he should definitely be checked.
👍🏿 cool
Thanks

Is it a chance that what ever color your base was, changed the color appearance of the "blue" and "light blue"? Just a thought....
Yeah that’s true but it was just grey primer.
Come off grey and purple ish blue.
Yeah someone else called it burble.
Those colors are way off on what they should have been
Yes sir they are.
