I was 7 in 2007 and I desperately wanted to be scene but I was stuck with wearing gap bottoms/gauchos and limited too/Justice tops. But I was seriously into emo music and I loved scene fashion. I remember lusting after those raccoon highlight clip ins.

Haha I had a single pair of gauchos and I wore them for maybe a few too many years after the trend. They were bright blue with a fake sewn-in belt in the same color fabric with a rhinestone circle. And they were hella comfortable.

Same... I used to use temporary, spray dyes and used to wash it out before my mom came home. I guess that's the reason for the shedding I have now..
I had dyed blue streaks in my hair, but my mom was super anti-eyeliner. I would bring it to school and apply it, then wash it off before she saw it. I alternated between a black and white checkered studded belt and a rainbow paint splattered one, and I wrote song lyrics around the base of my knock off converse. Oh the nostalgia!

I think the 00's in general were just a fun colorful time, nothing was taken seriously and you were meant to have fun. Which is very different to now because everything is so serious and miserable, in a weird way the 00's had this weird futuristic vibe.

Omg I agree with everything you said here. I'm a 1993 kid & I memorized a lot of codes for Myspace like when you needed to change the size of fonts, the buttons, the whole layout, size of pictures & top friends list. Myspace was so much better than Facebook.
The emo fashion has not changed. When I saw the selfies, it shocked me how similar they looked to many selfies I've seen on instagram. The dyed hair is really in fashion now, plus the makeup as well.
Plus, the same middle school kids who wanted to buy and dye their hair (but no $) are now old enough to afford it and their employers are allowing it, too. I think this resurgence is just people growing up enough to say "Hey, I wanna try some funky hair... deal with it (A lil 90's attitude vibe much?)"

as a guy, I hate skinny jeans. They dont feel comfortable and make me look feminine. Also, the pockets aren't deep enough. Can't squat or move fast in them either. Summer time was a bitch wearing skinny jeans. Thank god teen years are over. Now as a 26 year old I wear regular jeans. Early 2000's baggy jeans. Mid 2000's skinny jeans. 2020's and onward regular LOL.
The main fashion thing I remember from 2007 (or it could have been 2008) was the arrival of skinny jeans and jeggings.
Nobody wore skin-tight pants in the late 00's except certain celebrities, half the emo/scene kids and those who were in the know.

i was 18 in 2007, and what i remember being huge that you missed, at least in australia, was the fabric belt to mimic the look of layering your tops without wearing two tops, and elastic waist belts with a decorative clasp, worn over a bright tank top and flared jeans. otherwise, holy heck i remember all of those things hahaha

Yes this was popular in the UK! My neighbour and I were in the early teens in 2007 and she always wore this wide elastic belt with a big butterfly clasp, usually over a tunic dress and leggings like Saf's first look. I also remember neon colours being very popular

To me, fashion from the early 2000s onward kind mesh into one interchangeable fashion. I think by that time, we've nearly exhausted all options for fashion and just made slight variations year-to-year.
I agree because, to be honest, the fashions from the late 2000s don't seem that different from today. Just slightly.
Like if you wore fashion from the 50's or 70's, you would stand out. But if you wore fashion from 2007/8, no one wouldn't bat an eye much.

I never stopped wearing low rise jeans from early 2000s
I was born in 2000 and in 2007 all I wore to school was Justice clothing and walmart jeans. I literally wore a velvet pants and jacket outfit to school about twice a week and I of course wore them with the long tank tops underneath. My school had a spirit week and one of the days was twin day. My friend and I wore matching outfits with jeans, long tank tops, and a crop top. I also wore those pregnancy style tunics that wrap around the chest. With leggings and ballet flats of course. I'm not really a feminine person but my grandma liked to dress me up lol. I ended up being kinda jealous of my scene and emo friends in the 2010s
