Some really interesting points there Mate. I notice you would consider 2 wool blankets and I think you are right. The only way around this is to rely on the fire which does seem to get you through the night without a sleeping bag, if it is close enough to a canvas shelter. But, of course, keeping even a very small fire ticking-over all night means a very disturbed sleep 😐 Hoping you and yours are all well Mark. Another nice vid cheers 😊👍
Thank you Giles . I've used that type of kit in milder weather so I'm still unsure how to be prepared for a chillier night . Can't always have a fire so may need layers , blankets just in case . You are the man to listen to for this style of camping mate 👌. Thank you for watching take care bud 👍🏕
😂😂😂 . She does have a great right cross left hook 😂. But no . Had bleeding concrete in it gave me right jip for a couple of weeks. I've been slowly stocking up on the gear over time mate 🤪👌🏕. Hope you're good Mt. Tempest 👍
Looks and sounds ideal. There is definitely something special about traditional kit. But as you mentioned pros and cons. Looking forward to seeing you testing it on a camp 👍👍👍
Thanks mate. Yeah pros and cons for sure . Haven't really tested it in the chillier weather yet and I can't always have a fire so a bit trial and error . Cheers for watching mate take it easy 👌 🏕
Thanks mate . Yeah not really experienced with the old school gear. Had a couple of mild nights out with it but really got to test out what works in differant conditions. Take care and cheers for watching mate 👌🏕
Look forward to seeing you camping out with this gear, we seem to be heading in much the same direction using more traditional gear, all very interesting.👍
Cheers Mark . Yes it adds a really nice feel to camp I think mate . Loads of experimenting to do with wool blankets , ground cover etc to see what works at what temperatures and all that . Thanks for watching bud and take it easy 👍🏕
Thank you Darren . Yes mate all on the mend thankfully. Hope you are well and thank you very much for your support. Its appreciated greatly . Take care bud 👌🏕
I understand what you’re saying. Probably a bit like the feel of an old car. The smell and the old reliability. If Giles Binyon can do it, you can do it too. I however, can’t 😊
Hi Tim . Mate it is a nice feel . Lots of experimenting needed before I feel completely comfortable in certain conditions 😂 . Mr. Binyon , mate I don't know how he does it without a blanket 😳 . I suppose the fire he has helps , but still . I don't think I could do that 😂. Sometimes its a bit dodgy for me to have a fire at all . Anyway hope you're good mate, take care 👌🏕
Cool setup my friend, some cool woodland to explore there too, I've just picked up a German army flectarn pup tent ,came today, looking to use one half as my shelter, and using my lk35, and hopefully pick up some other canvas bits, I have wool blankets etc ,this video came at the right time, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig
Thanks Craig . Yes mate it's good to have a traditional setup every now and then I think . I'm getting to like it more and more . As if you have the fabled lk35, they're like gold dust now. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with that setup mate . Thanks for watching and take care 👌🏕
Good stuff as usuaI , I think it’s best not to have to rely on the fire myself 😅, in fact I very rarely have a fire just a small twig stove to cook on .I was given a firebox for Christmas but only use it for day camps really as it lights up the whole area some people love a fire though all the best Mick
Thank you Mick . Yes I do know what you mean about a fire being like a beacon 😂. I normally only use a twig stove to mate. I want to test how warm I'd be with layers wool blankets and no fire . Depends on loads of variables I suppose . Anyway thank you so much for your support 🙏. Take care bud 👍🏕
Nice set up there Mark, really like the SD area, got a good few camp spots in those woods. Last time we did a walk in rather than ride we threatened bringing a wheel barrow for the weight of the winter gear. ATB mate 👍🏕️
@@JamiedoesWildBikepacking Nice one fella. Just seen . I'll have a visit mate , but leave it for you to do a vid bud . Nice spot for a camp and a side story too . Take care mate 👌🏕
Know the feeling mate, keep having things going wrong with me! You packed a fair bit in that bag, Out of interest do you know how much that all weighs?
Hi ya bud ,yeah there was a fair amount in there 😂. Probably can refine and streamline it . Not experienced enough to really know how much of that type of kit to bring for varying conditions. Testing to do i think. That pack was about 14 kg mate. Anyway hope you good thanks for watching and take care 👌🏕
