Many Jewish people immigrated to the caliphates to escape persecution. (Granted, they had to pay a fine to keep their religion but it was better than in Europe.)

I'm not a muslim but the history of the Caliphates brings me alot of attencion since they used to be really big empires from the middle and modern ages. Also as a christian i can say that the wars with Byzantium killed a lot of people and it was a ''Religion VS Religion'' war (That´s how i call it).

Ottomans were not Caliphate nor were the Mamluks. If that was the case then there were Seljuks, Ayubbids, Ghanzanvids, Ghurids, Mughals were caliphs too
the Ottomans literally styled themselves as Caliphs, they took the title from the Abbasids after they conquered Egypt, and the Mamluks weren't a Caliphate, but they hosted the last Abbasid Caliphs, hence why they are in the video
