I think I discovered most of these in the process of playing many times, apart from silent walking (still didn't realize that could be controlled) and the alien not being able to pass over open vents. One occasion I was in Seegson Comms vent where the alien got trapped in a glitch, I was able to test out all my weapons on him without him being able to get me. Stun batons have no effect on him, even if they kill humans and stun joes. Bolt guns stun him too but they are too slow to use to keep him back. There's a few vent areas where he doesn't seem able to go, including vents with "steps" up or down, and I've never been able to get him to enter that small room accessible by vent from the Systech Lobby. Can he go there? I thought I knew all his scripted drops, but a couple of days ago I was playing on hard difficulty and the first glimpse of him in the Tech Support HQ room I thought, "I'm safe, he doesn't drop in this section unless there's a glitch" but he did, after I ran down the corridor on the left, he dropped out of the vent hearing me and just killed me. Still finding out stuff I didn't know about the alien's behavior. Noticed the alien often doesn't respond to the noisemaker on other difficulties, my only sure fire way of making it drop in some places like the medical labs is a flashbang or a pipe bomb. Maybe I overused them and it got bored? forcing me to use louder methods to attract it. I'll use the KG341 vent trick in future, it's always a bit hairy trying to flame him when you can't always be sure which direction he will run from. Useful info about how to take down super joes with guns though, I will leave my revolver at home.
@@PsychoHypnotic Medical always seems the worst for it (pre evacuation procedure). One time I did a nice little experiments. I tried out how many times you can shoot the alien with the shotgun, before it attacks you anyway. I thought it was odd that the game gave you a shotgun, but didn't seem to want you to use it except for Working Joes. I guess it's more of a psychological thing if anything; the game is way less scary if you realize your guns actually do something. If I'd have known this, I probably would've taken more chances and tried to think of how I could use the stun effect to my advantage.

I haven't tried anything lengthy on nightmare. Nightmare is more of a challenge mode. I'm not a speedrunner, except I did some sub 6 min getting over it runs. But I do enjoy breaking down mechanics like you see in this video and mastering them. This is good stuff. Love it.

Hehe you are welcome, I hope you can finish it :) if you still have problems we have lots of knowledeable people in my discord that could help and you can also download mods for different experiences :)
Damn I had no idea you could straight up force the alien to approach you slowly and cautiously. I always just doused the bitch in flames any time he found me.
At 3:30 if you stand in his way he just knocks you back & you loose health, if you're below half you die. At full health you wont die. Atleast on hard.
Just completed the game on nightmare. I tried to use items as less as possible, as I didn't know where something may be useful next. So it was sometimes annoying just to hide around. Few times I noticed that Xeno doesn't see me near fire. Or maybe I was not in the cone? Super Joes was annoying at the reactor. Many times I thought: it's damn good they cannot run 😂 and just walking like ducklings
My dad got this game a long time ago on a ps3 (bc it didn't run on his old work computer), and it's just been sitting in our basement gathering dust. Meanwhile, I just was wondering why it only had 37 minutes on Steam.
Sehr interessant.
I'm actually surprised at how many of these I actually use even though I play on console. I didn't think myself much of a speedrunner, and then surprised myself; currently going back through nightmare difficulty using as little resources as possible (as of end mission 10, 2 bullets, 1 flare, 2 medkits and about 60 flamethrower). I sat down for the first session and realised I'd only been playing 3 1/2 hours and I was already in the meat of mission 8 which is a record for me.... considering I'm also going back to scavenge as well. Can't really do crouch-hopping much because clicking the sticks rapidly with small hands is a massive chore and sets off my carpal tunnel. I will use it for short bursts if needs be. My favourite thing that I think I might of blanked out on, is not triggering an attack when killing a facehugger. I mash it with the maintenance jack and it almost never has repurcussions. I discovered this by accident when I was a bit of a noob and didn't have my flamethrower equipped. A light bulb went off in my head and made certain parts much easier. I really think more people should see this and maybe it'll help quell the 'fear' factor if they know how it reacts.
Thats awesome that you already used most of the stuff. That means you really took a deep dive into the game which is awesome. I also hope this guide helps people that have to much fear to complete the game.
@@PsychoHypnotic That's precisely why I love this video! I've got several friends that just get struck by the atmosphere and can't mentally coupe with the game. One couldn't even make it as far as Axel out of pure terror. I love this game to pieces and I recommend it as much as I can. I'll certainly pass it along to anyone that needs a helping hand.
Yeah! The first one I came across I panic fired thinking I had the flamethrower out and bludgeoned it, It was so quick I couldn't even figure what attacked me
I completed this game on hard mode without ever understanding how to use the flare. Since I was using my keyboard it was difficult for me to actually process the situation where Alien is hunting for me. So anything other than just silently moving away felt hard.
I appreciate this video a lot. I'm currently trying to go for the no deaths trophy on hard mode. I'm also going for the mercy or prudence trophy, so the EMP tip is gonna help a ton against that security team that comes in late game. I've really been underutilizing the smoke bomb too, they would have saved me so much pain while trying to use the torch to open up doors with the alien lurking about. Anyway, I'm wondering if the smoke bombs are useful against facehuggers at all? Will that also disrupt their sight, or do they just continue making their way towards you despite the smoke? I've been saving my stun baton charges specifically for the facehuggers, cause I know they're gonna be such a pain to deal with while going for the no deaths trophy.
I panicked on the anesedora (I know it's spelled wrong) and bludgeoned the one that comes out of the boxes to death and that's when I learned just the regular attack with the maintenance thing works
for the security team you can just sneak in one of the rooms, open a closed doors with a terminal and let a super Joe do the job (yes, it can kill the entire security team with little to no effort, just remember to hide)
Were you already using one of these tricks? What is the best one in your opinion?

But I do enjoy breaking down mechanics like you see in this video and mastering them. This is good stuff. Love it.
Thanks for the tips. Very useful! Alien is one of my fav films and very much enjoying this game
Thanks man this is helpful I'll probably try to Speedrun this game in the future ✌️
Thats awesome William! Glad it was helpful 🤘❤
ty, well made! i didnt know any of these, pissing my pants in fear even on second playthrough!
One cool mechanic in this game is if you step on the aliens tail or if it touches you it will turn around and attack you immediately
i've just finished my 2nd playthrought of this game , on Hard mode (1st one was shortly after game release).
Knowing all those tips would make the game a ton easier...but would also destroy the experience :)
Tip number 18, keep an extra pair of pants around when playing this game.
Damn man you are amazing at AI I recently finished playing it but it's always fun watching your videos keep up the good work !!! ❤️
Thank you so much! Glad you like it 🤘❤
This is the best video of tips and tricks for AI. Thanks dude🎉
Such good tips my dude. Also Potato Psycho! Lol 💜 ya my dude.
Thanks man, really appreciate it
I love potatoes 🥔
Haha xD
Thanks for sharing these tips. Now I have no more excuses for not finishing it! 😢🤣👍
Hehe you are welcome, I hope you can finish it :) if you still have problems we have lots of knowledeable people in my discord that could help and you can also download mods for different experiences :)
Ive been able to one burst on hard difficulty. Funny thing is these tips still really useful for when i need to get out
Damn I had no idea you could straight up force the alien to approach you slowly and cautiously. I always just doused the bitch in flames any time he found me.
At 3:30 if you stand in his way he just knocks you back & you loose health, if you're below half you die. At full health you wont die. Atleast on hard.
Preparing myself for a legit one shot . Thx
Meanwhile, I just was wondering why it only had 37 minutes on Steam.
how do you make the game look so vibrant and colorful?
probably from his editing software
Very useful! Thank you!
best channel ever

Hey Seth, I stream every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 9 PM CEST, would love to see you there 🤘❤
Lmfao this is the first video of yours I've seen but you got a great UA-cam personality so I think I might stick around 😂
Me, watching this knowing full well I'm not playing this damn game again: *Fascinating*
Really good video psycho nice editing
Also
*IGN wants to know your location*
Haha thanks xD
"... make the alien go away" 🤣
Did you know that pipe bomb works the same as the mołotov for alien? Sorry but I am polish not english so i could make some language mistakes
Preety good English you just need to learn where the word "the" goes
Thanks
The Alien was meant to play with you, but you play with it instead ;) GGs
Sehr interessant.
Great video :)
Did you know about the Horse Burger in the food vending machines on Sevastopol ? ^^
Haha yes... always getting a nice horse burger on Sevastopol xD
Tip 14 is so rewarding for me😅
Thanks pal
Welcome :)
Nice video
Thank you so much 🤘❤
What can I say except you're welcome
Once the Alien arrived to the scene
Me: I am dead
