Communication, even of bad ideas, is the fundamental purpose of EVERY SINGLE one of your neurons. Severing a nerve that transmits information about damage to the body without addressing the damage is irrational.
That’s what makes “pain killers” so dangerous. Pain is a “bad idea” meant to signify something is wrong. Censorship of that information means the damage goes unattended and can lead to catastrophic failure of the system.

@@hadronoftheseus8829 Rather than point you to my comment, I'll copy and paste it here: A few counterpoints: 1) While the CPO is technically a government entity it operates at arm's length from the government. There is s distinct difference which should be made. 2) I belong to a professional organization which cautions against bringing disrepute to the profession. Need I explain the reasoning behind such cautionary advice or the possible consequences to the organization if I ignore this caution? 3) To suggest, as you do (11:00), that the CPO could sanction anyone based on "innocuous social media posts or any type of public statement" beggars belief. Why would they? 4) Following that, to suggest that Peterson's comments about the PM of Canada being a narcissist, that doctors are mutilating transgender patients, or that Elliot Page is causing other transgender people to undergo surgery are innocuous gives a new meaning to the word. 5) You conclude that every statement a professional says "must be factual" (11:00) when that is not what the policy states. There will always be the opportunity to introduce opinions but ones that wantonly ignore or contradict professional research may result in a challenge. 6) We do not know the complete facts of the complaints nor the complainants because the CPO does not make public comments about either. To state, as you do, "that at least a few members of the CPO, perhaps the majority, became aggravated by Jordan's political ideology. It upset them that he had the right to speak freely. Perhaps they thought that right only belonged to people who agreed with them" is not supported by any facts. To further suggest that he was targetted in order to silence him is conjecture.

In UK , *Covid restrictions* included an amendment to *mental health legislation* such that only one psychiatrist is required to sign off on the detention of someone under the Mental Health Act. In the UK, executing this piece of legislation - section 3 of the MH Act - is referred to *"sectioning"* and involves admitting someone to a psychiatric hospital. The key point is it is against the person's will. (Voluntary sectioning is known as Section 2). It was a little publicised amendment but with enormous potential for misuse.

This may lead to further detention subject to Section 3 for the purpose of treatment of a diagnosed medical MH condition or conditions. Well said Dr. Grande. I just watched a long Dr. Peterson video "Detransition: The Wounds that Won't Heal | Chloe Cole". Jordan seemed knowledgeable and articulate in his video as he interviewed an 18 year old young lady who had started to transition to a boy around age 13, had a double mastectomy at age 15, and then found she deeply regretted what she had agreed to and felt at her early teens she did not have the ability to comprehend the details, ramifications and consequences of transitioning."
That video was very enlightening when it came to how the medical professionals deal with youngsters with gender dysphoria. Or should I say "misdeal" or mishandled. I did find Dr. Petersons concerns about threats against those who do not follow the current popular trends among medical and psychological professionals who encourage youngsters to transition, especially with a lack of long term studies to understand the affects and risks of transitioning. His criticisms against the medial professionals with this trend were very valid. I can see how those in the regulation role who disagree with someone's politics which genders issues would feel threatened by such video's which expose the mishandling and unethical ways which young children who display gender dysphoria are treated. I agreed with Dr. Petersons comments in this regard from the long video with Chloe Cole. I'm not surprised at all in this dystopian world that he is getting some major pushback or being threatened. I do hope logic and commons sense eventually prevail..

One of his client told him she was in love with him. Then he went with his wife to her workplace, a restaurant where she served and she thought probably rightly that he did to embarrass her.
The other reason is because he stopped taking client's calls because he was busy promoting his book and gave those calls I think to his wife, which broke confidentiality requirements and of course meant he was not there if there was an emergency or just give the service.
Otherwise I think there is more to it than you portray. If it was like you say I would agree, but If all professionals start acting like he does, they probably should be banned altogether.
