Mel, I've been watching your videos for years, almost 4 years now, and let me tell you truly, this hair just fits you so so so so well, I can't stop staring at your face!!!! Literally so stunning
I love this ❤ I too went the BOB route and I wanted to cry at first because it was soooo short! Shrinkage is real! But you helped in boosting my confidence and I am forever grateful for that and now this BOB is just SLAYINGGGGGGG! ❤
Drinking nettle is something a lot of Polish haircare fanatics have been doing for years :D and a bunch of other herbs like horsetail but nettle is king. Yeast with warm water has been big for hair growth too, but in my experience nettle tea goes down easier xD love your videos!
I love your videos I have super curly hair growing up I tended to straighten it alot and I mean alot but over the last few years of watching your videos I have learned to embrace the curls.
FYI: Mielle has created the Rosemary Oil, but a Lightweight version (Currently available at Target) for those with finer hair texture in case anyone was interested. 😉👍🏻
Just hearing you talk about short hair is making me itch to pull out the scissors. It's not even that long (unless straightened) but styling it is starting to feel like a chore and I think a cut will help... I think I know what I'm doing on my next day off😄
Love bobs; they're a great reset length for me when I've gone too long without a cut or need a change or I'm starting over with a new stylist. Strangely enough, I went to a new salon a few weeks ago and the stylist literally told me she could not cut my hair because I was asking for a "complicated" haircut (a bob). It was a good filter for both of us, as I want a stylist who is capable of cutting a bob and she'd like a client who never goes above the shoulder blades. And I might add, these salons are charging $100+ for a "cut"! Anyway, YOUR bob is the most chic and I'm learning a ton from you, thanks!
I bought the Overnight Blowout set! It's so easy to use. It works for a blowout but it also works for overnight between day 2-3 to add volume back to my natural waves. I also love that it helps even out where my waves fall in some areas but curlier in others without using water.
I love everything about this vid, you serving looks, the knowledge you have, the information you deliver, the way you said Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate, the key ending up being a p, its all a vibe 😆💯
I think your predictions are right on but I can't help but wonder when frizz will return in full force. We've seen it pop up a little here and there but this trend toward volume is bound to lead us to full on frizz at some point. In fact, you mentioned punk rock curlies and I think rocking frizz is probably the most punk thing a person can do. In the 80s crimping your hair was really nothing but artificial frizz if you think about it. But, eh, maybe I'm already jumping to 2025 here? lol
My curly hair is poofy frizzy and my husband loved it that way so that’s how I have been rocking it for a minute with my Farah Fawcett bangs. Totally embraced my inner 80’s childhood, but don’t with style!!! 😂
Love this. I have just had an Italian Bob, mostly because I had some seriously colour damaged hair , so I decided to have as must as I dared cut off and embrace my natural hair, which was a honey but is now mostly grey. Because I would rather have soft bouncy curls and waves that a fabulous colour with the downside of dry, damaged waves. So I am accidentally on trend, which has to be like the first time ever I have been on trend.
The drawbacks to taking almost ANY supplements, they take at least a solid month of continuous use & consistent amounts before you might begin to notice any results or benefit. This is especially true when it comes to hair &/or skin supplements. Oftentimes people give up on a supplement long before that & then give a poor review that it “does nothing”. It takes A LOT of patience to see it through that timeframe. I feel a solid 3 months is a perfect amount of time to be able to say I truly tested a supplement & can provide some good feedback. We may see results before 3 months but supplements don’t normally work quickly & giving them time is important to see if it’s doing what it supposed to. Idk how much hair, skin benefit a person can get drinking supplements as a tea, I’ve not tried it. I’d be curious though.
My question is if you oil your hair before shampooing, wouldn’t the oil seal in all the products used during the week, ie: moose, gel, hairspray, etc. and would prevent the hair from getting clean? Also, wouldn’t the oil prevent the water from getting into the shaft, thus not hydrating the hair? Could you address this in an upcoming video?
Maybe oiling only on the ends is a better idea because like you said maybe oil disrupts how effective the shampoo can be. I think the point of oiling hair before washing is to protect it from drying out and our ends need the most love
imo oiling can break down a lot of the product buildup, similar to how oil cleansers/make-up removers do; as for moisture, you can do oiling with a "base", i.e. oiling on wet hair or putting a moisturizing conditioner/a humectant like aloe vera or sth (protein stuff is not out of the question if you're into that); and because of the presence of some other humectant/conditioner, the oil emulsifies easier and is easier to rinse out
i really wouldn’t suggest oiling if your hair is already moisturized and healthy. Especially for those with finer hair and looser curl patterns like me, because it can diminish volume and definition. Amazing for coarse or dry textures though, they crave it!! Massaging is good but you don’t need oil to do it and it just adds an extra step to your routine which I am not bothering with. Plus makes no sense to add oil to already oily hair just to wash it off?? But yes ALWAYS oil your ends!!
Also, quick question: since you don't recommend coloring "chunky highlights," could they be achieved with semi permanent color like at-home toner Overtone? Actually I don't do highlights anyway but as a silver-haired gal, I do sometimes use toners to give grey strands a little oomph without damaging my hair by coloring it. And I love that they wash away without the dreaded skunk line. 😄
My curly hair is healthy but seems so dry in this cold weather. What’s a good moisture shampoo & conditioner that won’t weigh hair down? Looking forward to Amanda’s makeover ❤
I want to cut my hair. I have been putting it off for a while now but it's time for me to cut my hair. I'm still learning about my hair. Keep your videos coming, love. PS I am obsessed with your hairstyle! 🥰
Hey Mell! I have fine curly hair and am looking to grow it long. I’d ideally like to add about another 5 inches in length. It’s just past my shoulders at the moment. After years of sometimes dangerously low iron levels and so little hair growth, I have finally fixed my iron issue and am starting to see some growth. I recently saw someone with similar hair to mine get extensions and it looked fantastic. So now I’m torn between being patient and growing my hair longer naturally now that it has more of a chance to grow, or trying hair extensions. The things that have me hesitant are the cost, how regularly you need to get them done, and if they’re damaging to hair. Any advice that you (or anyone else) can give would be very welcome. Thanks! ❤
I think Mel did a video a little bit ago about curly extensions! I believe she talked about them in one of the hair trials for Amanda’s wedding. I think she might have an older video that goes more in-depth about the different types too! If I remember correctly, the more “permanent” ones that are like attached to little sections of hair with the metal beads are the most natural looking, but you also have to take breaks every so often or else it can really damage your hair and cause breakage or even tension alopecia. The less permanent like clip in ones are cute and fun for a special occasion but don’t damage the hair
@@jasminelambert3753 thank you so much for the help! I’ll be sure to check out the videos you mentioned. The salon I’ve been referred to offers both tape and weft 👩🦱💕
I would say try different hairstyles and have fun with your current length, length is not that important when it comes to how flattering your hair is on you. When you finally have longer hair you would at times want to have shorter hair again 😅 I’m sure your hair is rocking even now 🥰
OK for us GenX girls, we have a lil awkward HRC (Hillary Clinton) memories of the 90's. Are headbands okay for us 40+ curly girls, in terms of us not trying too hard to be youthy while also being okay that we're not still 20? haha
It’s fun to look at trends but also to know what works for you regardless of what’s in. I just colored my hair pink with big chunky hairlights and bangs 😅 so totally on trend here but I love pink hair and it’s not a trend, I just know it’s what makes me come alive 😊
