    My dad had us 'memorize' years ago, what he learned as the "FIVE HABITS of a GOOD THINKER" 1. Observe widely and intelligently 2. Keep and active and reflective mind 3.Master the largest possible vocabulary 4. Converse much with others and, 5. Develop the habit of doing your own thinking.
    This had a LOT of these!!

    Remarkable person reading this.. It’s going to get better; all it is a season of opportunity to grow and be better than before. Challenging times are meant to strengthen us, not to break us. Success doesn’t define to what happened to us; it is how we choose to deal with our circumstances. The more you grow and develop as an incredible person as you are, the more things will change for the better. Forgive more (for you), be grateful for even the smallest things (we have it way better than someone else), choose love over ego, choose humility over ego (humility is strength), and finally, invest into new skills so that your future self will thank you. Our lives will change forever the more we grow. Be thankful for the challenges for we know something greater is coming. Love you always - Nathalie ✨❤️

    Here's a tip; be skeptical of people you disagree with, but even more skeptical with people you agree with.

    • @Drew_Hurst
      @Drew_Hurst Рік тому

      Skeptical People become more and more skeptical, (as seen in Your joke-comment), just as negativity leads to more negativity.
      Skeptics become close-minded, un-imaginative, de-evolved, negative, dull, boreish, paranoid and easily-manipulated, herd-minded stooges.
      Critical thinking and skeptical thinking are opposites in that one leads to reducing Your joy and life-energy, by making You more insulated, and the other to critical thinking which enhances Your life through better decisions and choices.
      Decernment is going to be needed more than ever as greater deceptions for control are employed by failing hierarchies.
      There are neurons in Your heart and even more in Your gut, practice using Your intuition, and heart, in some more emotionally-based decision-processes so You'll be able to make better decisions when You don't have many facts to go on, or when someone is deliberately attempting to decieve You.
      All the best!

    As much as meditating and reading books helps you to feed your mind, I belive that drawing and painting also has the same effect in enhancing yout imaginative skills. Therefore, being an artist will also greatly improve your critical thinking.
    On top of that, I would say that any kind of art would feed your mind, music, sculpting, dancing, acting since they are all instigating your brain to be creative. Probably this might be one of the reasons why Plato was all about studying and practicing music in his academia during the early education of kids.
    Happy new year everyone !

    Something that will definitely help in developing critical thinking is to emphasize, asking yourself questions about how other people would solve the same problem, how other would understand from their point of view, just imagining that there are all kinds of professionals with different experiences, knowledge, how would they solve a problem that I have, it is also a form of daydream that i enjoy along with playing chess lol

      Something may not “make logical sense”, because you lack a piece of knowledge. Discounting things outright, when they don’t align with your current worldview (they don’t make sense) isn’t critical thinking. Also, logic without an objective moral foundation is not true intelligence. It’s just AI at that point.

    Like you suggested in a previous video I asked one of my friends what my negative aspects are. One replied you are great the way you are. Another replied that I’m extremely forthcoming about my emotions. I am confused as a guy should I hide my feelings. Does showing my emotions freely make me unattractive or affect me negatively? What should I do? Highly appreciate advice

    • @susanwojcicki3581
      @susanwojcicki3581 2 роки тому +1

      The important thing is to watch people closely when expressing yourself, are they intrigued/empathetic or seem uncomfortable? It will be different from person to person.
      You can express your emotions dramatically, or you can convey them in a calm tone explaining why you feel that way. It depends on your personality, the situation, and the person you're talking to.

    • @navodabeyasinghe8599
      @navodabeyasinghe8599 2 роки тому

      @@susanwojcicki3581 so here’s the thing this person knows that I have been used in the past and was telling me being expressive about my past makes me vulnerable is it true should I refrain from mentioning about my past?

    • @ayushmukherjee3470
      @ayushmukherjee3470 2 роки тому +2

      Express your emotions and feelings but sensibly, whatever you think is correct should be done, everyone's opinion regarding you will be varying depending on the situations in which they have observed you, some might have observed your bad side more than your good one and vice versa, on the basis of that they judge, but you have to ask yourself first, that what are the things you are good at, list those things and also the bad points that you want to include, it's your life live it in your own terms. And yes, you definitely can ask people who are close to you, but don't blindly follow their points, consider everyone's points and think it in your terms that is it actually true pr not, If yes then go ahead if not then exclude that part.
      Thank you

    Had a group meeting at a job. The objective was to come up with ideas to up sales. No matter what idea that was given, the head would just tell us, that's wouldn't work or it's been done before; despite I've never seen it done, since that business was new. After an hr+, I left as there was no point of the meeting, other than waste my time on things that needed to be done n any n all ideas that was given was rejected. The rest stayed in the meeting where it ended up as a big waste of time. They went with the first rejected idea which actually was a success. What didn't work for one may work for another, don't just toss it out because it failed before.

    I'd love to still be able to daydream. Unfortunately, I work in the living nightmare of a call center. One call begins as soon as the first one ends. If I'm quiet for more than 8 seconds, I get an event. If I'm unavailable for more than 30 seconds that's an event. More than 3 events in a pay period and no bonus. And I always miss the train because 2 minutes to quitting time, some POS has to call in with a claim or question that takes 20 minutes to resolve. I essentially lose an hour and a half of my free life, even more when the train is late, because some jerk had to wait until last minute to call in.

    Is reading non fiction ok? I only read non fiction bc I’ve had this urge for years to understand the world we live in. I’ve been studying geo politics, history & languages for a while. I actually don’t watch tv or movies unless I think there could be a msg behind it. I’ve basically got addicted to learning. Is that bad? Actually now that I think about it I do take dives into fairy tales and children story’s we were given as kids & especially since they keep coming up again… there’s some msgs in their. But reading non fiction is fun to me soo….

    Critical thinking is a skill about "thinking"... but about what? Before "why" or "how" or "what if" the most important part of any critical thinking is having deep understanding of "what". So everything that you talk about in this video is secondary when a person doesn't have enough content/domain knowledge.
    And, no it's not a natural skill to see patterns.
    And, no it's really challenging to form your own opinions unless you have, again, enough domain knowledge.

    "And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.
    The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.
    Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone NOT FOUND written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire." (REVELATION 20:12-15 NKJV)
    Today, while you are still alive and able, may you repent from your sins, believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that JESUS CHRIST is your Lord and Savior, so that through Him, your name will be written in the Book of Life.
    "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever BELIEVES in Him
    should not perish but have everlasting life.
    For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." (JOHN 3:16-17 NKJV)
    By God's GRACE ✝️, the gift of Salvation and Eternal Life is available to all. You can RECEIVE it. You can REJECT it. May you choose wisely.

    Critical thinking helped me stay Athiest in the face of attempts at religious indoctrination by my family. Question everything and always think for yourself if the truth is something that interests you.

      Military brats have to learn how to improve their skills with constructive criticism. This is a great point to touch on

    Sure dress it up with the word critical but it's really just thinking in my opinion. Also being encouraged to daydream while behind the wheel of a car is not good advice.

    I believe myself to be a critical thinker and to improve that ability, I watch videos like this but watching this video in the context of today's political and social context is scary because it's clear to me that critical thinking is being socialized out of today's young people. You're ostracized for asking questions that go against the popular think.

    The majority of this is absolute nonsense. Minds and computers do not work in the same way, this view was abandoned long ago. Far too much of the "Do" and not enough of the "How to do". This is a shallow, slippery, dance that uses something certain to then make statements that are questionable. Very disappointing.
    Oh...nearly forgot. Totally ignore the fact that the number one step in dealing with information is to check the source of that information. As for daydreaming, it is an involuntary act. We cannot daydream at will.
