So your telling me i need one
I have horrible ticks on my property
Absolutely!
They are way better then chickens for ticks.
"They make a lot of noise"...understatement! I do have much less bug issues with my guineas on the prowl.
Haha yeah they do know how to sound the alarm!
They taste great
Hunt tried one yet! I have heard that from more than just you.
Yeah I learned they don’t like to be held the hard way. A couple of them just kinda went with it, although you could tell they didn’t like it, but one got super mad and clawed the heck out of my arm.
I’m sorry to hear about your arm! They definitely can be feisty
We had one wonder in last spring. She was alone. She imprinted on my husband's quad she is amazing. I had never seen one. I've been in the country my whole life and had never seen one before. She's a lavender guinea fowl. She's very friendly she has been attached to our old lab. She's comical she sweet she very vain lolol and extra smart. I feed her grain of course. But her favorite foods are hot dogs, apples and bread. I cut them all up for her she eats it up lolol. She's finally letting me pet her, I've held her a couple of times. I'm glad she wondered into our lives. And yes her name is, "Guinea girl".
That would be _"wander"..._ good lord. 😵💫
Only ticks. What about larva and potato beetles?
I heard that if hatch them from eggs and you raise them with hens they become less noisy and jittery
Nothing is going to stop those things from being less noisy. Lol.
They also eat fire ants. And they sleep in the trees. They’re really wonderful birds.
i had guineafowls but the neighbor did a noise complaint and got them taken away by animal control, not really upset because they were so loud LOL
What state are you in? Crazy that animal control took them away! Were they in a fenced in area. I’m just curious how animal control actually captured them.
How have you tamed the keet production? Or do you just eat them to control the number every year?
If I was getting too many keets, I am in an area that I can sell them very easily. I also have never had any of my guineas sit on any of their eggs so I’ve never had the issue.
@@LittleFarmLand I have some broody females for ya ❤️
If we clip their feathers , can it fly above 4 feet fence
I don’t like clipping the feathers as much because it makes it harder for them to get away from predators.
And they're delicious.
I haven't tried them yet, but I have heard as much
Must taste good!
I’ve heard! Haven’t ever had one cooked up
Have you?
@@LittleFarmLand No, but I really wanna try
