Bruce Dickinson, the modern day Renaissance man.
Kymberlyn Reed A symphony of metal! That statement takes on a new level of credibility coming from Bruce Dickinson!
Population of Canada in WW2 was just over 11 million. And close to a million was involved in the war effort!
Including my Dad, mid upper gunner, Lancaster, 415 squadron !
Cheers on that M....My dad was an Air Nav instructor and me mum was the station head Dietitian.....Smart laddie hook-up with the most important 'colleen' on base🥧.
Absolutely awesome! Looks like Bruce had an amazing time! That particular Lanc spent many years on a pedestal in St. Thomas Ontario, and is now flying due to the hard work & dedication of numerous volunteers. Massive props to everyone involved!
SpectreSoundStudios Glenn Fricker! F**k you, apparently...... some German guy said to tell you that :) maybe something to do with lancasters and Germany? Haha seriously though, love your work, and not surprised to see you interested in your country's heritage.
1
indeed the props are massive
Glen it was on the pedestal here in Goderich Ontario not St Thomas it was owned by the Goderich legion and donated to Warplane museum. She has returned several times to Goderich always a treat for our little town.
Live to fly, fly to live!!!
do or dieeeeee!!!
Aces high! 🤘
Won't you..?
ACES HIGH!!!!!!!!!!
Lol, guys discussing about wrong song.... isn't just funny to write in the comments another lines of Aces High? XD Who cares if it is the right song or not, just have fun! Up The Irons!
Bruce- that's the man who joins all his passions together. That's why he is super cool :P
If they sent Dick back in time to 1939 and he just flew over Germany in an Avro blasting "Aces High" from a quad of sub-woofers...
The Germans might have been slightly irritated by the noise.
@@evilubuntu9001 irritated by an Iron Maiden song? No.. it wouldn't work xDD
EVIL UBUNTU - I’m pretty sure the Germans were irritated by led buzzing by there ears !
Two legends - the Avro Lancaster and Bruce Dickinson. Wow.
My uncle Dennis Carty (Sargent pilot) flew Wellingtons in Canadian Bison squadron.
He was English his crew was Canadian and Australian all KIA on their 6th mission.
People forget just how close the bond was in the allied camp.
Hero's all.
He was 21 years old and the oldest crew member was 27
No matter what happens today, nothing can diminish the love, thanks and gratitude the UK feels for Canadians, Aussies, Kiwis or anyone who stood by us during those dark days.
Lest we forget.
Its cool that he’s growing his hair again
Shaggy Rogers yeah I love 80s Bruce
But his hair were longer months ago, I think he cut a big part of his hair...
Unless this was filmed last year and was just finally shown on UA-cam.
Old footage, his hair is currently quite long
@@kilroy4103 oh thnx god! HaHha
Two unnistakable sounds Bruce's voice and the Growl of those Merlin Engines
Bruce being the pilot of any plane i'm in...Bucket List Item!!!!!! 😇👑🇬🇧💓🤘✈🤘💓🇬🇧👑😇

To any and all Iron Maiden fans and hopefully to the band themselves, please listen to my story. I was blessed to be able to go to my first and only Maiden concert, or any concert for that matter, with my dad in 2010 as an early birthday present. The Final Frontier tour in San Antonio was the greatest experience of my entire life as a 12 year old kid and even now. My dad, now in his 60s, introduced me to the wailing of Bruce Dickinson's voice on The Best of the Beast that my 8 year old self found tucked away in his case of endless rock and metal cds. My love for this band and this sound became as synonymous as Texas and football and I have never forgotten how important this became to my relationship with my dad. Today, my dad only has 1 and a half feet because of a MRSA infection brought on through diabetes, his kidneys are failing on him constantly, and I don't know how long he has left. Now that I am living away from him in Corpus Christi 60 miles away my only wish was to hopefully take my dad to one last show before I end up losing him. I had for the last 2 months been donating plasma at my local donation center while working a 9 to 5 job and saving as much of my paycheck as I could to buy 2 tickets and Trooper passes for me and my dad to drive 120 miles to San Antonio from Beeville, TX to see Maiden again. I was hoping to share my first beer of my entire life, an ice cold Trooper, with my dad at the Legacy of the Beast tour. It would have been a moment that meant more to me and hopefully more to him than anything. Unfortunately, my truck that has been in my family for 17 years broke down when I was returning from overtime work in another city. My truck is possibly a total loss and now I don't have a vehicle to visit my parents or even get to work. The money i spent to tow the truck back home to get checked by a mechanic and on the parts I needed to fix have completely drained my bank account including the money I had saved for this concert. I still do not have enough money to fix my truck completely and I doubt I will any time soon. I won't be able to repay a loan to cover the repair costs or make car payments for a used car with my paychecks that go mostly to bills except maybe with the help of donating plasma again. I could care less about how hard the road to recovery is for myself though. The most disappointing thing to me is that I won't be able to see my dad even in sickness yelling at the top of his lungs trying to match Bruce's intensity or the look of astonishment on his face when he sees the giant devil Eddie and the spitfire and the stained glass windows that create such a breathtaking experience in person. This band brought us together closer than ever before and I appreciate everything my dad has ever done for me in my life. He made me the man I am today and I just hoped to repay him for making me believe in myself and teaching me not to ever give up and to try my best in all things I do. I hope that maybe next year Maiden is on the road again so hopefully we can see them. If I lose my dad before then I will still proudly belt out the songs that he introduced me to and I grew up listening to on my way to school full blast making the speakers crackle. I will still wear my Final Frontier tour shirt that he bought me in all its cracked and faded glory from the hundreds if not thousands of times I've worn it. Even when I lose my dad the memories I have will always remain and I will cherish them forever. Thank you to whoever read this through. This fanbase feels like such a family to be a part of the way that people interact with each other and I am proud to say that I am a part of it. I hope that our love and admiration for Maiden only continues to grow and we see the boys for many years to come. Thank you all and Up The Irons...
@@Ravenscaar thanks man I really appreciate it, that's why I love being a fan cause of people like you
Amazing ... This Airplane ... Emotion for Commander Bruce ... Live to Fly Iron Maiden ...
The most iconic british bomber for the most iconic british metal band
Imagine Maiden using the Lancaster as band/equipment transport, as w/Ed Force One, w/Dickinson at control column...MAYBE as co-pilot/2nd?!
"a Symphony of Metal" yep Bruce \m/
I live 10 mins up the road it flies over my house on practically a weekly basis it never gets old
YOUR THE BAND THAT GOT ME INTO METAL!! THANK YOU!!
That Lancaster flights over Hamilton most weekends. Every time I see it I always say to whoever I'm with " can you imagine living in Germany in 1945 and hearing 1000 of them coming?" Incredible !
I was extremely lucky to have seen a restored Lancaster flying at a local air show in Reading PA, USA I believe it was visiting from Canada......the sight and sound of 4 RR Merlins at full song flying overhead was absolutely incredible. 😉👍
Tomorrow is Bruce’s birthday. Lets all celebrate!🤟
Little did I know when I was 12yrs old and listening to Number of The Beast for the first time, Maiden would be my favorite band! 39 yrs later they are still around. And I also share the same passion as my favorite lead singer for aviation (see my screen name...FAA Mechanic I am an aircraft mechanic as well as a PPL holder ). Thanks for all the non “wasted years” as I learned to “fly like an eagle” to the “empire in the clouds”. And not to exclude Steve Harris...I also play bass guitar because of him. Still trying to get that gallop to sound as good as Steve’s :)
Hardcore maiden fan since 81 -82 ,drove many miles ,many times ,to see their concert ,many times ,love their music ,what can I say
🤘😬🤘
God bless 🤘
Weird flex but ok
MY HOME TOWN OF HAMILTON, ONTARIO, CANADA. Mr Dickinson you flew right over my house I wish I knew, that flight has been a dream of mine since I first sat in the cockpit at the museum as a kid. I can only imagine how awesome of an experience it was, I will be thinking of you and the rest of the band on August 9th - 10th while you shred up Toronto once again and from one big time fan to one big time star, what a small world EH! Thank you for sharing this amazing once in lifetime experience and for sharing your visit to our amazing museum with the World!
I've got a sudden itch to play Bomber Crew. Up the irons!
Amazing. My grandpa was an observer, bomb aimer in Wellingtons and Lancaster's and got the DFC for flying over 70 missions and being shot down which I only found out in recent years. Said he would smoke over 60 cigarettes on a mission hence only one lung working properly many years later. Died at 91 and everytime I see a Lancaster I always think of him
What a truly awesome machine
Bruce very privileged to ride in that ...
As we are to listen to Maiden
Seen Maiden twice live and hope to see them again. Have met Bruce. What a real nice guy he is. A singer song writer story teller actor pilot business man and a true gentleman. Keep it going Bruce.
We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight in the streets and in the fields. We shall never surrender! 🤘😬🤘
Joe Blow We shall fight with growing strength and confidence in the air....
We shall never surrender.
Winston Churchill
UNLEASH HELL.
Aces High, Die with your boots on, Tailgunner, Where eagles dare.
Maiden really do have a lot of songs perfect for this exact kind of video.
I live in St.Thomas Ontario which is an hour away from Hamilton were this Lancaster is based out of.Been inside of it myself, fantastic aircraft.Seen it over the years at a few different Airshows."Tail Winds and Blue Skies"
Fly on your way, like a Eagle...
I like seeing someone that has it all get truly excited by experiences. Stay young at heart.
Seeing Bruce flying in this airplane and seeing him all giddy about it was on my bucket list. :)
Wow, what an absolute honor!Thrilled you had this opportunity Bruce, we would’ve been beside ourselves!
Up the Irons! Love you Bruce Dickinson! Aces high! ✌️🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
That is something I would love to do. I saw the battle of Britain Memorial Flight numerous times in the '70s/'80s and have always loved the sound of the Merlin engines. Bruce is such a lucky man to have done this. Up The Irons.
Bruce's passion of history is second to no one. I sorta feel honored for him to be able to do these things. He's brought so much joy to people throughout the decades... of course along with the band. But Bruce sorta brings you along for the ride. HIS ride. And yet again, he brings his life back to the fans. Cheers from my little hole in Florida.
Bruce, can't wait to see you guys in Cincinnati next week. If you have time to stop, you should go to the National Museum of the US Air Force in Dayton, Ohio (where I'm from). It is the largest and oldest military aviation museum in the world. It is truly incredible and you would absolutely love it!
i had the very good pleasure of seeing her twice when she made her visit over here a few years ago.
and she flew with our Lancaster .
to see and hear 2 of these beautiful queens in the sky, and knowing theirs one more making ground runs at east kirby which both flew over during her visit, which i missed
made my hair stand on end and a tear in the eye
That was awesome, saw them both fly with the Vulcan at Waddington, it was just as spectactular as maidens current tour!
La Kingpin
Yes I was there that day too. About 3 miles to the north as the crow flys away.
And when those 8 marlins started. Even at 13.00 with all of the city’s noise
It was amazing to hear.
We was on the Catheadral hill and when the 3 old girls came over I was in tears. My young grandsons will have a memory of a lifetime
@@ozzyd9001 yeah I was at the WAVE bit at Wadders, such a privilege to see, but such a shame it'll never happen again. Still there is the prospect of perhaps seeing 3 lancs one day, let's hope....
La Kingpin yes I do hope to see just Jane in the air one day.
I missed the day the 2 lancs flew over Jane taxiing.
I hear it was awesome
Truly the metal master. Imagine him and rob halford hanging out, the metal masters
My dad took me to see one of these beasts when I was about 8 years old. I got to sit in the cockpit, something I'll never forget and that's getting on for 50 years ago.
Once again, Bruce just keeps adding to his legacy as one of the true heroes of Classic Metal and a contender to be "One of the most interesting men in the world" A Renaissance man as I have ever seen one!!
Happy birthday Bruce !!! 07/08
Good times! I really enjoyed flying right next to him!
Fly the spitfire
I get to see the lanc fly over Hamilton and Burlington every weekend. Never gets old. Saw Maiden on Sat night in Toronto. Awesome Show!
Hey Bruce. When you are in Chicago. There's a town just South of there called Valparaiso. At the Valparaiso airport is a club who has a private collection of ww2 aircraft. I suggest a visit.
Fly to live, ACES HIGH!!!
Love metal music and love flying! Bruce you RULE!!!!
1:20 "Remove all the wheelblocks, there's no time to waste!"
"Iron maiden in nashville tennese" :') I live an hour from nashville :')
the background sound should be "Flight of Icarus"
god allmighty the pilot just like bruce is a legend and a great guy. His wife told me hey you know this guy named bruce from a metal band? LOL
Saw that Lancaster here in the U.K. when it was flying from Kirmington Airport, which was one of many sites in Lincolnshire that Lancasters flew from during WWII, (hence the name, "Bomber County").
The Second Lancaster is kept at Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in Lincolnshire.
Awesome sight to see in the flesh!
Seriously, this would’ve been an awesome 2 hour documentary on this iconic aircraft. Bruce would make a fantastic voice over host for aviation documentaries.
Bruce is fuckin' excellent. Love this dude.
Love Iron Maiden! Long Beach arena 2003, best concert I've ever been to!!
Lucky you. No!! You're blessed to see them live 🤘
A few years ago I was pulling into my driveway and saw a Consolidated B-24 fly nearby. I got out of the car and saw it turn back and fly up my street and over my house at about 1,000 feet. The four engines were turning at a low RPM and had this low rumble, very much like what I imagine Bruce heard with those Merlins. It is a sound not soon forgotten.
Even though I'm a Yank and love our B-17 Flying Fortress I must admit that the Avro Lancaster bomber is my favorite WW 2 warbird.
@UCi7f4l4iD3py0dzC0-w2org Yessir. Back in the 70s I consumed everything I could on the air war in WW II and came away marveling at the sheer guts of those bomber crews facing death with every sortie. They don't make 'em like that any more!
Just think....A bomber group of Mosquitoes with a crew of just two ,instead of 10! or 7 for us....could take in the same load at a 4,000 pound load factor at 400 MPH
and then could fight their way back out.....if they could catch them!
@@rpm1796 Love those Mosquitoes too. Always reminded me of our P-38 Lightnings but more heavy duty.
@@davidbee8793
Absolute!
Operative word is consumed .
.............We all went in...with-out question....
This time and you will agree...we are close to another one...
@@rpm1796 I won't be around to see it but I couldn't agree more. There's a shit storm a'comin'!
Bruce looking handsome as always😏
O miserável é um GÊNIO!!!!!!!
Bruce you are so lucky...that’s just awesome
Can't wait for Edmonton and Calgary at the end of the month!! UP THE IRONS!!
As an American, I'll admit that is a beautiful and awesome plane, shame only 2 are left flying. Doesn't hold a candle to our B-17 or especially the B-29, and I am so glad we FINALLY got a 2nd flying B-29, "Doc".
Seeing them in September! Bruce is Legend.
Classic Iron Maiden, Flight Of Icarus still sounds great to this day, the musical talents of Bruce, Steve, Nicko, Dave and Adrian have worked great together to create one of the best British Heavy Metal bands and they are still appreciated by those of us who saw them in the 1980s, and the younger generation.
Bruce is a straight up legend.
So glad I got to see Bruce on tour
Bruce is living his best life
About to see Maiden for the first time ever! Very excited!
Thanks Bruce, apart from being a mad Maiden fan, my father flew in the Lancaster in WW2.
Thank you Bruce, for sharing your passion. 😎
Bruce seems like a very cool nice guy
Happy Birthday Captain Bruce!
Do what you love, so you can love what you do.
I hope Bruce was able to make a substantial donation to this museum. It is awesome ( I've been there) and so is Bruce 🤘🤘
Washington DC was a great show thank you IRON MAIDEN
Happy Birthday to you, Great Bruce!
I'm from Hamilton and that particular Lancaster flies above my house about once a week in the summer.
Bruce, the real life Renaissance Man.
That is so metal!
Awesome experience!
Look's like you had a fantastic time Bruce, thanks for your amazing talent and thank you Maiden for your music, it has got me through some truly dark times, all the best 🤘😜🤘
There's only one thing better than hearing a spitfires merlin and that's hearing 4 of them ,I can't remember the tag of Canadians Lanc(dizzy moment) only other one in UK (phantom of the rhur) ,plus one being rebuilt after recent fire (thumper 3)
What a lucky, lucky bar-steward!
Happy Birthday Great Bruce!
4 spitfire engines!!!....awesomeeeeeee
Congratulations Bruce.
Bruce, love to see you do more aviation videos, speaking pilot to pilot👍

If the Avro Lancaster could talk to other planes: _OMG Fellas you'll never guess who I got to fly around today!!_
Aviation is such an interesting hobby. Bruce really seems to like it as well :D good man.
Great moment to flight this veteran. Not only for pilots.
Happy birthday Bruce 🎁🎉🎈🍰💪
