Iron Maiden is the only band on the planet that can make me feel like a kid when they release new material. It’s an event in my house. I have been a fanatical listener since I was 11 years old and I’m 46 now, they will never get old to me. They always put out inspired music…up the irons!!!!!!!!!!!

I was 12 when the first maiden album with DiAnno dropped in 1980. When Bruce joIned in 82 for N.O.T.B. I was elated. I have been hooked since the beginning. Now here we are in 2021, and I'm 53....they still give that same feeling I had in 1980.....41 years later. Can't say that about very many other bands that's for sure! UP THE IRONS!!!!

First time I saw Iron Maiden, I was 14 years old and saw them on Dec 9, 1984 on the Powerslave tour. Ever since then, it's been Up the Irons for life for me. I have taken all of my children to a Maiden concert, and they wore my jean jacket with the Aces High back patch I have had since 1985
Iron Maiden at this point really has nothing more to prove. I can’t wait for this album, these men over 60 make better music than people half their age.

I remember when the single for Speed of Light came out. And honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of it at first. It wasn't a bad song to me, but it didn't really make me feel excited for Book of Souls. Book of Souls is still a great album overall, but the first impressions from that song just didn't do it for me. Writing on the Wall is completely different. It's a stellar track and plays into all the strengths of the band while keeping the feel both completely unique but with that iconic Maiden feel.. I'm hyped for Senjutsu. If the rest of the songs are anywhere as good as Writing on the Wall, this is gonna be one of their best albums, easily.
I don't know; Speed Of Light had the energy to me that is sorely lacking in Writing On The Wall. However the new song (and the mixing) seem to polarize Maiden fans, so we'll just have to wait and see.
@@MadMaxBLD I definitely do appreciate Speed of Light for being a high energy song and showing that Bruce still has that in him. I did warm up more to the song after several times of listening and the rest of the album proved to still be quality stuff. This is a new direction Maiden is taking, I imagine spurred on by Bruce's surgery. It's a completely different feel to anything Maiden has done before. It was gonna be divisive and I'm sure they were aware of that. It's not gonna be every Maiden fan's jam. If there's anything I've grown to appreciate over the years, it's how they adapt to whatever fits Bruce's voice and don't try to recapture the same feel of the 80s and 90s. I think Dance of Death and Final Frontier are prime examples of that. Shenjutsu is gonna be a "love it or hate it" album. Time will tell how well it'll be recieved.

@@ba55bar he had a hip replacement during a break from touring, I didn’t realise he had it done before recording the album though. I believe Bruce still does fencing 🤺 and Steve still plays football ⚽️ so they are both very active physically outside of band duties. Good way to stay in shape.
