Thank you for this video. I enjoyed visiting Canada. I spent alot of time in Niagara Falls Canada, before 2020. Haven't been back since. I really miss it. I liked watching this video and again, thanks for sharing. Have a beautiful day.
London has alot of potential. Unfortunately ever since covid hit we have seen a huge increase in drug addicts and homeless. The downtown is completely over run with crime and the east side (which is the side I'm on) is crazy scary. Hopefully london can get it together and tackle this issue.
I feel so bad for what this has done to everyone. I feel fortunate my family is safe. I hope things get back to normal. People have lost so much. It is depressing. Thank you for watching. Stay safe!
I lived EOA forever and that’s just life East Of Adelaide. It’s been that way forever. You either love it EOA or not. Also homelessness and addiction have been a major problem in the city for years. London’s just really really good at keeping it low key and out of the public.London doesn’t really have a crime rate cause there’s no reporting on these things because it’s bad for business. We got problems just like any city. They just hide them really really well.
Recently there has been almost 80 tiny home units (heated/electrical/wifi) setup for the homeless at 2 locations (York & Clarence + behind McMahen St.)
London Ontario has the Largest Arcade in Canada as of August 2021 called TILT Arcade Bar London (Talbot & King St. - Downtown) and London Ontario is surrounded by 3 GREAT LAKES (Lake Erie, Lake Huron, and Lake Ontario) an average travel time 45 mins. per direction to a lake. 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Thanks for sharing this video. It has so much information about the city. I am moving to London in a couple of weeks for my PhD from WesternU. Hopefully, I will be able to visit all these places. Really excited about the trail though.
@@leonardsheatravel Thanks. PhD is going great and I am thankful to Western for providing me this opportunity. I just love the campus and am totally in love with the city and its people.
@@crazyibby41 The city is small but very welcoming. It is peaceful and offers a lot of fun activities. I come from a third world country so any city in Canada is far better than what I have experienced. As far as the University is concerned, it has great research output and good reputation not only in Canada but outside as well. You will not regret completing your exchange program here. The rents are not that high, although they have gone up in the recent years. You can easily rent a single room in a shared house for 550-750 CAD. Wish you all the best for your exchange program.
Moved to London 5 years ago and although the city is pleasant it lacks substance! Restaurants are few and far between, it’s the students that make it fun! Older people find friend making very hard, nothing really organized for them like “ meet up groups” . It’s a colder city on many levels. Really consider a move here.

Pretty much every reason listed explains why london is one of the trashiest towns in Canada. If your life doesn't revolve around getting smashed on cheap beer and cheap tourist traps it's a complete dump. Sober people generally stick out in the suburbs/shopping malls. Great things about London, close to Toronto/Lakes, the Thames river trail is amazing, the weather is great, they have really big malls. Pretty much everything else is dominated by homeless people and addicts. London doesn't offer anything that isn't common pretty much anywhere else in Southern Ontario. EDIT: They call it forest city, but the majority of the trees are deciduous, so once winter comes it's completely devoid of anything green. The surrounding area is nothing but farmlands so you have to drive a while if you like hiking in actual forests etc.
Ya, many places in South Western Ontario are having problems like you pointed out. I still think London has lots to offer and can be a great place to grow up. Thank you for watching!
Stab City... London is perfect for those morning walks by the Thames river that smells like poop... Aswell careful you don't step on a homeless person or needle bc they are everywhere.... Aswell bc it's a student city... Except to pay alot on rent and houses. They have beautiful metal fake trees around downtown. Definitely not a friendly city. Now everyone compares London to Toronto... London is definitely not to far behind Toronto for affordably. What do I know I only lived in London 30 years. Thank God I moved. Do your research. More and more Toronto people move to London bc of these adds. But when you move to London... You realize you made a mistake... Night life is great if you feel like getting stabbed. Jobs are mostly part time and very low wage. You will need 3 part time jobs just to pay rent. Transit definitely sucks. London is growing to be known as a crackhead city.
