Zeus has left T1 - it was announced yesterday that the star top laner who had won two Worlds titles with the org has now join Hanwha Life esports.
It marks the end of the greatest roster in League of Legends history but beyond the immediate sadness from fans - there’s drama.
Rumours have been raging on social media that the entire move has been a mess from start to finish that neither party wanted, that Zeus’ agency are responsible and that T1 are far from happy.

I think T1 got doran early enough in the down season to begin integrating him into the roster. He's not zeus, so oner(especially) and faker need to learn what resources he will need and can give to keep them being a top competency team.
Well, maybe how Zeus first join T1, getting constant gang the 0/7 start game, but doubt Doran can do that, he looks like 2nd Canna.
it's crazy how they tried to remove T1 from the scene with unending DDOS attacks.. T1 can't even play soloQ anymore.. but they still won worlds.. they can't beat them at the game so they try to lessen their time playing and training.. now that that didn't work, they're trying a different angle.. they're attacking the business and financial side of T1 to try and drag them down.. if they still win worlds next year.. goats for a reason..

Well Zeus has very high level understanding of the teamfights and he sees things before they happen like Faker. Whatever he asked - T1 has that money and he was worth it. GL to Doran I wouldnt like to be in his shoes with all the pressure from all sides.
People need to give Doran some respect for signing with T1. If they don’t perform, most people will start pointing fingers at him. That is a lot of pressure. I hope he does well.

Nah everyone was pretty much calling Doran a savior for t1.... Because if he was not a free agent and did not wait for T1 offer then T1 will not have a top tier lck top laner.

Regardless of how he perform I will always be thankful of him for saving T1
To be fair to Doran, he had Zeus on check in 5/6 finals of LCK. Problem with Doran is his international performance is sub-par.
T1 will help in internationals, and Doran might be the click they need in domestic.
At this point, I do not even care about wins- the fact that Doran waited 6 hrs (which can be said otherwise for the other party) when he himself could have been in jeopardy contract and team placement wise PLUS ALL THE BAGGAGE THAT IS T1 he will get and have to overcome after this. I WILL SUPPORT HIM IN T1 ALL THE WAY.
I personally also think he saved T1. So Doran, win or lose, play with OFGK! Enjoy it, play your best, learn the clutches as best you can, stay safe and healthy- BACKING YOU ALL THE WAY!!!

I think T1 can help contribute to Doran's success internationally. It's not a massive downgrade we might even have an upgrade but the brand ZOFGK just hits different at this point.

zeus leaving is not the problem. if he left properly without deceit T1 would send him off with a heavy heart. but he and his agent decided that burning the bridge with T1 is worth the money (which is T1 is willing to offer).
ghosting T1 even when you verbally agreed that you will sign is snake move. delaying until kiin (same agent as zeus) gets signed to further up his value. What a snake. go slither away from the backdoor, no farewell video for a snake like you.

Zeus must've hit his head much harder than we thought.
There's a whole conspiracy theory in that the agent managing Zeus also manages Kiin, and they want T1 to fail so these 2 top laners would succeed so they get higher salaries, and in turn, higher cut for them.
By denying both top laners, T1 would be forced to most likely pick up a rookie or untested top laner, had they not rushed to pick up Doran in place of Zeus.
@@neo_child Doran is in a better place contract wise. He does have a lot of pressure from the die hard T1 fans, but the org, T1, would appreciate him more and will give him whatever he needs at this point cause he basically saved them looking for another top. Good move from his agent waiting, who knows he might have been shipped off to lpl or other regions too. It would be even better if he slaps these agents faces by winning all the way with T1. One could hope... and cope 😅😅😅

Fr. Like he could've been vocal about leaving and that this is his last year in T1 not a fxking last-minute false promise. Zeus and his agent could've said "we want to see his market value after that let's set a proper date for negotiation if you want me" not some BS ghosting and no contact till last minute. Kinda feel bad for Doran with all the rumors speculating. Dude probably down right now feeling he got used as leverage for contract negotiations and signed only because he was just the only one available left. I hope he plays extremely well moving forward.
Don't feel bad, he's a huge faker fan. Regardless of the rumors and controversies, this is a dream come true for him as he wanted to be teammates with Faker and Join T1. It's a Win-Win for T1 and Doran. Not like there's any other A+ tier Top laners left anyway.

Doran is a decent top laner he is even in top 3 laners of lck alongside Kiin and Zeus. He literally carried HLE tho.

Maaan, Zeus's side (agency) really chose the short term bag to HLE than Long Term (Brands, Merches, Fame, Legacy, & Money) with T1. Props to Doran saving T1 by signing in T1. For sure, the team will help Doran improve and overcome his "choking" issues and he will prove them haters (Don't forget that Doran played with Keria during their DRX days, so they might still have that familiarity of their gameplay). As long as OFGK still in the lineup they might possibly make it to Worlds next year.
You can see t1 effect on doran already. His insta followers from 60k to 150k its crazy. Agent really dropped the ball on this, it's just a petty and stupid move imy. Faker might retire anytime soon, and one of the zogk would have been the successor, they were on their way with the fanbase and eveything, but we got hle zeus 😢😢😢 surely money from the contract couldnt be more than t1 merch royalties and prize money pools. They dont care about brand deals most likely because they dont make money off of it, only zeus. They are likely only making money on the contract, that's why they want zeus to sign a big contract.

T1 rep said they offered Zeus +agent a 1+1 and the accusation from T1 is that Zeus and agent played delay tactics that lost T1 an opportunity to grab Kiin from Gen G. Complicated is the fact that agents for Kiin and Zeus while on paper are separate companies, are actually the same and so T1 is accusing the agents of collusion.

Kiin was never going to downgrade to a T1 from superteam Gen G, Chovy wanted him to say, so does Kiin himself and Gen G. Nothing was delayed whatsoever Kiin was never in the market in the first place. These are just T1 coping drama.

It wouldnt surprise me if there was agent sabotage. Just think, if T1 cant get a foothold 2025, gen g or hle might win, thus increasing the market value for zeus and kiin. It has never been about Marin, never been about Bang, Wolf duo, never been about star studded roster of Khan, Teddy, Mata, Clid, has never been about ZOFGK. It is always about that goat in the Midlane and whoever stood beside him, Faker.
It could have been respectable departure like Bang, Peanut, Scout, Wolf, who even after leaving T1, came for Cameo and nostalgia streams. so facts are:
1. T1 offered 3+1 (Team or Player option unknown) after the worlds and FA started.
2. T1 and Zeus+agent were gonna have meeting at 9AM on the first day of FA, but Zeus's agent cancelled.
3. Zeus's agent gave 3PM deadline for meeting for offer.
4. T1's COO and whoever on the way to the meeting but late.
5. @3:40, Zeus's agent told T1 that they decided to take offer from another team
6. Zeus signs 1+1(Player option) with HLE
These are from T1 or Zeus or his agent. Everything else are rumours?
1.3+1 at a massively lower salary than the agency expected the market to value him
2. They extended the deadline essentially.

4. T1 missed the deadline by 40 minutes. This is a nonstory point at this point, a massive organization like T1 should never miss a fucking agent deadline wtf.

I presume T1 promised huge pay reward to have him re-sign just 1 year for "low pay" for his value. Only small increase in pay from this year, which is highly undervalued for his worth. Isn't that asking for paycut for 2 years in a row to a two-times world champion topliner?
If T1 did pay what he asked for, I assume T1 will have hard time signing Faker and Guma next year also.

they said that zeus and kiin have the same agency but different on paper. and its dangerous because they are both top laners. So this agency can manipulate which team will win the top lane according to which will benefit more. i think the changes is good fot T1, so they dont have to deal with that.

That is also the reason why they hurriedly remove all of Zeus photos and image in their HQ. Imagine producing merch/product thinking one of the people involve gave you the word that he will stay but then backstabs you leaving you dead to rights with no viable Top Laner if not for Doran saving T1 THEN you are forced to scarped all of your ZOFGK merch due to the Players Agent prioritizing personal gain.

Everyone is missing the part when Faker had an injury and left the team for few weeks and the team with all their "stars" start to loose every game. So idk why so much hype for one player leaving. I wish him the best but i really think T1 is god FAKER

I just hope T1 never miss an international tournament and Doran plays well even if they get bounced in Worlds or MSI. He'll get flamed really hard if he under perform and they lose which he'll never deserve, considering that he came in as replacement right away when Zeus left T1 just like that.

If the rumors are true the one person who got fleeced the most is Kiin. He could've bargained for a waaaaaay bigger contract, Gen G. is the old Samsun Galaxy who was notorious for firing or dismissing academy players whenever money became a topic.

thing is, Zeus's agent also screwed over Kiin by making Kiin resign to GenG so quickly, meaning that Kiin didn't have any real time in FA market to try and get higher salary, even with GenG. Dude went all in on Zeus and completely fumbled the ball, going in really grey if not illegal territory to secure what in the end was just an okay at best increase in salary for Zeus at HLE.
T1 have all the right to sue and take legal actions against that talent agency, Zeus is an idiot for how this was all handled and he chased a short term bag while throwing out a huge potential legacy, retirement home and long-term $$$ at T1. It will be a test to see if Zeus is truly a great player in his own right or if being slotted in a different team and org causes him to not show up. Zeus has had plenty of hot and cold performances, high highs and low lows, which maybe why the contract had disputes and I mean despite being young and having the ability to wait 2 back to back worlds wins will probably be the highest chance for these players to get their biggest paychecks. Sticking with the team while best for the fans may not be for these players’ futures if they lose next worlds as they have their perceived value drop and lose negotiation power. Short term gains that are guaranteed vs longterm high risk high reward.

The agent said Zeus signed with HLE but he didn't , so T1 at that point was forced to sign Doran even though Zeus wasn't signed yet.. He then heard T1 signed Doran then he took HLE.
Also the Zeus his agent waited till Kinn was signed to force the free market price to go up for Zeus , the agent also declined an in person meeting , delaying it with Zeus himself because they already had a verbal agreement. It was normally sure that Zeus would extend the contract....
And normally there will be legal consequenses for the agent , T1 is suing them.
T1 offered a 1+1 with a team option. That's essentially a 1 year deal.
HLE offered a 1+1 with a player option. Big difference.
The agent said that they were going to take HLE's offer, they didn't explicitly say the contract was already signed.
T1 immediately signing Doran and releasing the tribute video was essentially a way to get back at Zeus by saying they are no longer interested meaning HLE isn't competing with T1 anymore. Also they wanted to signed the best available top laner remaining of course.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong - the general consensus is that the "grey area" could either be:
1. While Zeus and Kiin have different agents on paper, those agents are under the same parent company. This is relevant bc of the timing of events - Kiin re-signs with GenG in the morning, that same morning T1 and Zeus's counsel were supposed to have a meeting but the agency canceled and gave T1 a v tight deadline to make a counter offer (same day at 3pm), T1 then repeatedly try to re-establish comms and even tried calling Zeus and his family but they were basically ghosted, finally T1's COO and GBM resorted to driving from HQ in Gangnam to Zeus's house in Incheon. By the time they got there around 4pm, Zeus had already signed the HLE contract. Kiin and Zeus's agency basically dragged everything out until the very last second and ensured that T1 was absolutely effed by the end lol. Because by then they couldn't even TRY to negotiate with Kiin, the only other player contending with Zeus for best top laner in the LCK; but Doran came in clutch and signed with T1 almost immediately (same day before midnight iirc).
2. T1 claims they had a verbal agreement with Zeus that he would re-sign this year. Verbal agreements or oral contracts are legally valid and enforceable under Korean law.
Take this with a grain of salt, because we have v little official information at this time. The info I mentioned was just what I remember from reading translations on FMKorea posts, Reddit, and Twitter. Hopefully, T1 proceeds with their intent to make all this public haha.
TL;DR: Grey areas could be either: *Zeus and Kiin's agents/agencies are under the same parent company* OR *T1's verbal agreement/oral contract with Zeus was violated*
