Hello Jim, Thank you for breaking down the reasoning behind the switch. Looking forward to benchmark testing of before and after timed runs. Best Regards, Jack
Hi Jim, I am ordering a car and some parts tomorrow, I don't want to jump the gun but would you tell us/me what guid flag you might use on this (my favorite GOAT body) build? Thank you for your time and help!I think you might see me at the track soon too.
Any standard 32nd scale guide will fit, but as long as you are starting from scratch you can get the MRSLOTCAR guides, MR2202 for wood tracks or MR2201 for plastic tracks.
Thanks I have ordered all of the parts. Looking forward to the next installment. Looks like the motor shaft has to be cut down. What is the best way to accomplish this?

Hi Jim can you tell me what the code is for the pod?
MOTOR POD SIDEWINDER FOR FK050 "SLIMLINE" MOTORS WITH BUSHINGS
MR2112
Use with 4.5mm Pinions/16.5mm Axle Gears OR 5.5mm Pinions/15.5mm Axle Gears

A Dremel with a cutoff wheel. Put the motor in a plastic bag (with the shaft sticking out) so the dust from the shaft doesn't get into the motor.
Also chamfer the end of the shaft so the gear fits easier.
Hi Jim when are you going to do an update for this project
I'll try to get it done within the next week or so. I have to arrange to use one of the tracks in my area to do a proper evaluation.
