how do you even find out about new patches now? is there a website? it says google translated..thats surprising, should been chat gpt for more accurate translation, but anyhow where you found out about this? i was wondering if theres more games patched like this
Some games that have been left on translation purgatory for years can now finally be playable thanks to machine translation. It is not being worked on by a massive group, it's just me and a friend, so that's why we don't use chatgpt. Google translate is more viable for the way we do things, and ti optimize our time. When i have the time, i do a revision on the english, but working on massive rpgs with 3000 individual files to be translated, it is very rare for me to have time to do that. I'm working on Shining Hearts next, i hope to have it finished soon.
@@Rihcterwilker what in machine translation is different from then to now? It's easier to hack and replace text? I myself would suggest chat gpt for it's insane quality and I say that from experience playing diverse games translated by it, I really wanted see translation for a super robot wars games, we have a massive community and eagerly await any translation for older games such as Super Robot Wars Alpha (ps1) or Z (PS2) or Z2 (PSP) if there was ever any chance it would been great.
@@Ikarusu romhacking games still is kind hard. The difference is that now with machine translation that uses google translate as a basis, the process is accelerated by alot. A translation that would take around 5 years can be made in 5 months. I'm thankful for the people that do human translation, but some games just get neglected for literaly decades, which sucks. It still requires a very time consuming amount of work for people like us that are doing it as a hobby in our free time. As an example, Shining Hearts has around 2400 script files, and each single file has like 3000 lines of text, where you have also the code of the game mixed with the text to be translated. And specific tools have to be developed to work on each specific game, which is usually the biggest wall for most translations. Luckly, my colleague is very talented on that aspect.
