Thanks for videos The pretty Vank (Armenian) Cathedral, suspended between heaven and earth in Isfahan, Iran.
During my adolescence and in the summer of 1972 (during school holidays), I worked several days as a worker with my father at the Vank Cathedral: My father was a technician and attentive worker, as a craftsman he participated in the installation of the boiler room and the engine room (plumbing) of the magnificent Vank Cathedral in the Julfa (Jolfa) district of Ispahan. I have unforgettable memories during this short period. the Church (Cathedral) of Vank as a whole, is a precious, magnificent art with the vaulted architecture of Armenian-Iranian-European and Middle Eastern, which is one of the masterpieces of indefatigable stone carvers , it is the fruit of architects, masons and grand masters (qualified builders) more than 400 years ago. The paintings and the work of the frame and the vaults are flamboyant (I think the construction of the vaults are against earthquakes? The layout of the frames at the 4 corners of the beginning of the vaults are crossed), the effort and the love that used in the construction of this Cathedral are unique, where the heavens and the vaults on the earth and at the Cathedral of Vank; touch each other. I am also proud that in the summer of 1972, I accompanied my Dad in his passionate work.
@2:03 Why are most of the people painted here in light skin color? Are these Persians? Is that Moses with the 10 Commandments? Why is his skin not in dark tone?
Paintings are Orthodox Christian icons following Byzantine forms but with the figures done in a very typical Persianate style. It can also be seen in secular and Islamic Iranian art (which was not aniconic) beginning with the Ilkhanate but reaching a high point during the Safavid era. Note also that the Egyptian Copts, Ethiopians, and Malayali Indians practice a very similar form of Christianity to the Armenians, for which Vang was constructed, and their icons follow similar forms adapted to their own national styles. Levantine Arab Christians traditionally use a strict Byzantine style for their icons that is largely indistinguishable from Greek and Balkan models. It should be noted that all of these people adopted Christianity earlier than Rome, and their rites have existed in something approaching their present form by the second century and fully rubricized by the eighth century.

It’s a catholic cathedral not a mosque or an Orthodox Church!
Don't write a nonsense, this is Armenian church.
It's Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church.
That’s is. It mosque
It is a church...Armenian Apostolic!
