ETHAN, Don't forget, if you hang gutters, you'll have to CLEAN gutters. I would lay big rock, bigger than gravel under the eaves of the building for the rain to run off the roof & splatter upon the rock. Now & again pressure traces off the building. That would be easier & safer than teetering upon a tall ladder cleaning gutters. !
put scrap of wood next to box for nailing it. i like same old skool outlet😊 But I do think Plastic boxes make sence Liftmaster is one of the common names of garage door opener manufacturers sure hope it all works out Well for you
They make a special bulb for door openers. They will withstand the vibrations from the opener motor and will last much longer than a regular bulb. I don;t know how long LED bulbs will last. That question can be answered by the people at Home Depot or Lowes, or Menards, which ever you have. Barn looks great and everyone has done a great job.
That pole barn is going to serve you so well and long into the future. Looks so good with the home too. You and Rebekah have a wonderful homestead. One of the best channels on UA-cam. Keep up the great work! Looks great!
Evan, when you get ready to wire receptacles in the wet/wash down areas instead of buying a bunch of gfci's @ roughly $20 bucks a pop you can buy a gfci breaker & protect the entire circuit that way ( it's a little cheaper ). And you are absolutely correct about bonding the neutral & ground @ the main panel then separating them every sub panel thereafter...........
@@roscoejones4515 you are right sir.but in an area like a wash down room where the gfcis are prone to getting wet they won't last nearly as long as the gfcis breaker tucked away in a nice dry panel.
You are right on the outlets, the garage doors will plug into a outlet and you will have garage door openers and you can code them to your truck and car and open and close them from your vehicles. There will be a opener for each door and you will enjoy having a remote. Each opener will have a code you can set. The pole barn looks really good and it will be great to work inside out of the weather.
Pretty fancy! Nothing is cheap these days, Evan, but this building will be worth every penny over time. Plus, check with your tax man; you may be able to depreciate the cost since it is part of your farming operation.
Someting you may want to consider for the future is to try getting some DUCK weed growing in your pond. It grows very quickly and is fairly high in protein and your ducks should like it, plus you can harvest some and add it to your pigs feed.
You have a very good looking building. Since your putting on gutters have you considered capturing the rain water for your animals and other farming needs
The great thing about having it done now is you can use it. Rather than build as you go. The only thing that may have been nice is a large door to bring wider equipment in for winter work. Hopefully you can get a tax break on it. It hurts the pocket book now but will pay back in many ways. I went to the Led light in my garage they work well. The cold doesn't t effect them. We all seem to out grow our buildings. Really nice to have a place inside when things break if you need it. Have great week it will get there.
Great job, the only thing is that I know is most all the electricians take off their wedding ring when working with electricity, safety Sally here, but above all amazing job and congratulations.
You do very nice work... thoughtful and thorough ... no one knows it all even though they pretend.. I didn't see a green neutral to ground bonding screw in the panel you didn't mention it so assume it must not be there... no inspections... no problems... of note 15amp outlet on 20 amp circuit is a no no.. just FYI
Wow!! That's the cost of a small house 😯 It's looking fantastic, though. I woke up this morning expecting a video and no sooner did I sit down with my coffee that the video popped up ❤️ Thanks for sharing
Good video Home Depot sells what they call a valve box about 25 dollars to put in the ground over your service ground connection so you access to the attachment point also y’all should consider a surge protector for that panel just my two cents
Great garage!! Thanks for sharing every step of the job. You’re probably planning to install same LED lights as in the old barn, just to make it easier- they sell them in bulk of 12 and 8 footers, not the 4’. And don’t trust that flimsy bracket to hold them to the beam, that are only good for first installation, you’ll need to add 2 strips of plastic or metal underneath, (pipe hangers) and to the truss.
I highly recommend putting a strut along the top of the top panel of the doors. The operator arm pulls from that position, and can stress that top panel over time. You may not need it if the springs are well balanced, but it could lead to that top panel being bent over the years.
You can build a pole barn and look at all the little things to make your project right. I am sure you have a contract for everything you do. Look at everything you do
The only issue I see with the garage doors is they are not synchronized to go up at the same time. Just kidding, they look and work great, good job!👍🏼👍🏼
Don't forget to leave those boxes proud of the wood by the drywall thickness! I'm always forgetting that. Little nubs on side of box to indicate. You're also meant to leave those tabs half attached where the wire enters the box to act as a wire grip so it can't pull out ... it's kind of a pain in the butt though
lift master is a common opener!! all you need is light bulbs ha ha . 12" more than the height of the door you are using for the power. it is coming together looks good!!
Love your choice of doors....very rich looking. It is a beautiful structure. Looking forward to seeing the add ins as you go. Thanks for sharing this with us. Have a Blessed day.
Looking good on the building, and the doors with openers will really be a plus! I highly recommend that at a minimum us metal clad cable, like BX or MEC. Birds and especially rodents will damage the non- metallic sheathed cable. 👍
Looks good. Openers are a great investment in back saving for the future. Be sure to figure out how to open the doors during a power outage before you need to actually use it!!
what a dream shop
That's an awesome garage!
Good ol’ garage doors
Hi...... Evan nice to see you, thank you for sharing your video homestead 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 🎥👍👍👍
It looks great
Lift master is a very good company.
That is one fine looking pole barn, Evan. You have done well. Enjoy every minute of it.
You have a way of making a growin man jealous lol.. what a great looking shop..kudos
Journeyman Lineman here, box looks good a whole lot better than most.
Same brand of doors we have. Very quiet.

Heavy duty wood work bench with large vise. Love that barn!
Money well spent looks great

LIFTMASTER is one of the big players for garage doors
Great video
We are one week from starting our new barn. These videos have helped out a great deal. Super appreciate your honesty !
Looing good guy, a great man cave.
Glad to see you are using Square D.
helps keep out the giraffes? Birds didn't surprise me but whoa! 😂
The doors look amazing just like the rest of the building !
Farmer. Welder. Craftsman. handyman. Electrician, you wear many 😏hats
The pole barn is looking great.
Good Morning! The first rule of wire, Even if there is no possible way for it to tangle, it will tangle.

Need a mounting board behind the panel, also you need another ground rod ( 2 required ) Nice job love it
conduit or bx
Only 1 ground rod required

Looks great!,,
In years to come, you will forget what you paid and just appreciate that you did it so well. You should be very proud of the way it has turned out.
You sure fooled (us) me....I had already decided you are an master electrician, plumber, mechanic,....I know there's more...
looking great
You've come a long way in a hurry with your new barn. It's lookin' great! I hope you show us some of your move in and organization. Can hardly wait!
My first comment and I've been with you from day one. You are one awesome man. I will forever keep up on you two. Tipping my hat to ya.
Good morning.
👍👍👍 The garage doors are really nice.
Everything just looks chic. Perhaps you could consider security cameras in the future budget.
The Craftsman steel toolbox is a good choice. Better than the plastic or tin ones others make.
Beautiful, money well spent xox
Gooood morning Evan excellent video! The pole barn is amazing! God bless y'all!
The garage looks AMAZING!
...lookin' great, stay safe..

I plan on installing GFCI protected outlets.
All receptacles wired downstream of a gfi are protected by the same gfi. You don't need many.
@@roscoejones4515 you are right sir.but in an area like a wash down room where the gfcis are prone to getting wet they won't last nearly as long as the gfcis breaker tucked away in a nice dry panel.
Thanks for sharing the cos!
It has turned out really good. You have a great addition to the farm.
The barn looks really nice 👍
congratulations. thanks for sharing. Love the color choices.
That color combination isn't one I would have thought about, but damn it looks good.
That is the most beautiful shop I have ever seen !
That is a great building

On your gutters check out Leaf Drop Gutters has a massive opening to the downspout.

Your barn, but I would use Conduit running your wire for fire and rodent protection ! Just a suggestion . It's your wooden barn/shop.
LiftMaster makes the best garage door openers. Far superior then genie or overhead door.
Hello my friend, your wonderful and beautiful work. I congratulate you, my friend.👍👍👍👍🖐️🖐️🌹🇾🇪🇾🇪🇾🇪🇾🇪🇾🇪
Nice job on the pole barn now you can enjoy it!!!

That building is so nice, I don’t think it can accurately be called a barn. Luxury workshop, maybe. Congratulations, it looks great.

I have been looking at some different LED lights. Some High Bay Garage Lights.
1,2,3,4... that's the combination to my luggage.

You are getting some really great prices I wouldn't be upset at all
That is a fine barn/shop! Very nice.
The garage doors look great
The barn is looking great!
Really looks good, I am so happy for you and Rebecca.God bless as you go into the next steps.
Very nice building!!
Hello Evan
Eight feet would be a challenge in MO soil, Cole County. Bout six inches down you hit chirt. 😎
Looks good! For residential style garage doors we always figure the height of the doors plus 4 feet for the operator outlet.
Very nice!

Your Craftsman tool box, I have an identical one that is probably 54 years old. If you hit a metal box it doesn't break.
Good morning from Grand Forks
You didn't talk to long everything made sense to me and I do say construction cost are alot higher right now.
Those doors are sharp looking! Love the colors you have chosen.

I may have mentioned this but have you ever thought of digging a big hole next to the lake to get fill then flooding the hole when done digging
Building looks great i am like you i am not a electrician but i have done lot of it at a plant i worked for 40 years everything look fine with me.
