Colin, to finish the side wall as you were trying to do, you should take a high resolution photograph of the dirt/rock wall. When the project is complete, you can print the photograph in large format, and make a custom metal box frame with LED lights along the inside track and weld it to the wall. This will give the impression of the backlit window idea you had, but much simpler and you don't have to worry about the condensation issue! 😀

You're not slow Colin. You're actually pretty quick compared to construction crews that have a full team and you got up to 5 people there at a time doing work at the best of times. At worst, just yourself. You're actually doing amazingly for the tasks ahead of you.
for not being a 20 man crew you are doing pretty good it is a much bigger project the any of the previous it is more like many projects all nested inside a bigger one. and you are not just slapping it together. one step at a time .looking amazing!!
I'm 5 years into a 3 year house rebuild, doing EVERYTHING myself. I'm still on the strip-out/repair/get-the-base-layers-straight-to-make-life-easier-later stage... The original plan was get the house done then move in. Now it's get the basics done (electics/plumbing/bathroom/kitchen) move in and sort the rest out later!
I hope your relatives are blessed with hearts of saints. Man that sounds rough. And I pray it'll all work out exceedingly nice in the end. If you have kids I bet they know what they're gonna do when they grow up
I love the way you present these videos and the way you are constantly positive, especially when it doesn't go perfectly. I have much to learn and much to do to treat adversity the way you do. Suffice to say, Please keep it coming and please keep being you, you legend!
I can't be the only one who appreciates that the little hydraulic ram rock stabber thingie is still relevant in this project. For being a quick productivity fix in the early days of the bunker, it's certainly gone some mileage.
Tis might be a tad late, but if you want to see rocks on some of the walls: use the rocks you mined to build a (faux)wall back up. Concreting it in to reinforce and stuff.
Dont worry about the wait Colin, “The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.” echoes well as time is a price too not just money. nice to the see the OG 'HUUUDraulic' ram in action! Its heartwarming to see you have a good team around you on this (and many other projects), from Freddie being a legend, your good lady Charlotte putting up with all of it and helping out, Tom getting in on the digging, and always a pleasure to see Rick back in the background I do hope hes doing well. Looking forward to the scan vid!
I enjoy these 2Much vids, because it's a lot less manic then the main channel, and it's Colin being a guy doing a job. Thanks for sharing the hard work!
I'm chiming in with so many others here: First, though it seems to be taking too long, what you're doing is HUGE, so time is just going to go by as you get on with it. Second, you're Colin Furze, so maniacal speed is your thing, and for just how huge this project is, you have gone wicked fast!
A piece of pipe insulation or a pool noodle glued up to the inside edge of the hatch opening would be really nice. The back of your head will thank you. Im sure that's the 100th time. 0:08 I commend you on your professionalism to finish the shot instead of getting irrationally angry at an inanimate object like I would have.
Reminds me years ago when I built a huge extension unto our bungalow with a walk out into the back yard. It was a huge job, of two floors that ran into the fall and snow was beginning to fall in Canada. We ran into issues where we had to wait for permits to be approved and it caused the project to go later than we anticipated and it was extremely stressful at the time. I just got married I had three kids and my new wife had three kids we were the brady bunch and it was a lot on our plates for newly weds but we did it, and today we have a beautiful home that is fully completed, and we will not sell, until we are beyond our retirements that's for sure.
Colin don't worry about how long it takes, I get so excited when a new upload pings on my phone, it's the best thing on UA-cam by a country mile. Keep up the fantastic work and be safe 🙏👍👊
That looks like the winch that i have on my bikes to raise them out of the way to the ceiling. Cheers Colin, glad that you are getting nearer to your goal. Enjoy getting progressivly slower as you age, there will come a time when the activity stops or nearly stops and that will drive you bonkers (it did for me).
"It didn't used to take this long." I know that feeling. You are getting old Colin. It can sneak up on you. It's not all bad. Everything goes slower when you get old. It mostly sucks, but there are benefits, and you can get faster again as you recognize exactly what kind of mess you've found yourself in. And then, you get more fresh mess dumped on your head so you have to do it again! Getting old... Always something new to learn. Never a dull moment : )

Im soo happy too see this project continue. Its honestly been supper cool and ive enjoyed every episode since the backyard bunker and the first tunnel. It does make me wonder what big projects if anymore will happen in the future. I think of the biggest and coolest things of this project is its not like a one off video where u mite see the trike in the background or something. This is a project we will fet too see in a tone of future videos as the back ground. Just like the old and trusted work shop. I can see collin expanding the tunnel system more. As i bet in the summer its alot cooler under ground.
for what it's worth, time is what it is. I have no need for a regular IV drip of videos, I just deeply appreciate when they come along, wait be damned. You're a treasure, Colin.
It’s going to be amazing when it’s done, imagine a smoke machine pouring smoke out from underneath the DeLorean as it rises from the secret garage, be like BTTF. I love that you have stayed in the same house & not changed whereas other YTer’s get massive egos & lose sight of reality, thanks Colin for being you!
Also unlike @Jerry Rig Everything , colin is doing this mostly himself and with the help of friends unlike jerry / zack who is hiring dozens of companies and shoving sponsors down out throat
Hey, that's Tom Lamb! He's a farmer. You two seem like solid friends, the type that would spend all their time together if they could. Thanks for the video Colin, your grand vision is getting closer to completion and will be absolutely fantastic to see!
I think you should take a high-quality photo of the dirt wall have it printed on vinyl (high quality, of course), and adhere it to that wall when complete. Just an idea.
IIRC, he said he wasn't going to do it. There would be too much condensation/rain water on other side and he wouldn't be able to clean it off. Also, it would compromise the structural integrity of the wall.
"I don't know why this project is taking so long" my brother in Christ you're building an underground garage and an underground tunnel that connects the house, shed, bunker and garage together as a two man team. Of course it's gonna take long😂
@@davidanalyst671 oldest video isn't even 4 years old. You have to consider the much harder and different challenges that this project has compared to the bunker. He dug the hole for the bunker, constructed it and pumped in the cement and then covered it up. For this one he had to be much more precise, dig around utilities, under his own house's foundation. All of this while fighting with the usually shit British weather. Maybe the garage part could've been done faster if he took the bunker's approach. Dig the trench, pour the slab of cement, build the walls and then fill it back up with more cement. But with such a big pour it's difficult for someone who hasn't really much experience in the building sector to be sure that it's all poured correctly and that it can infact hold firmly the front facade of the house. There are so many more things to keep in mind and it's understandable that he went with a calm and well calculated approach instead of just rushing it. If the garden sinks a bit you can just put more dirt on top but if the floor of the house caves in it's much more difficult to repair and infinitely more dangerous for him and his family. Plus, you're just watching it from your phone or pc or whatever device you're watching this on and you're sitting comfortably while he's covered with dirt and just working on it little by little. If you're in such a hurry you know... Just pick a shovel up and go help him🙄🤷🏻♂️
I think what you do is awesome, so inspiring and really entertaining to watch. I'd love to see you travel the country helping other people with their unique home improvement projects.
Brilliant content. Good things come to those who wait. Been watching since the first bunker and never let down even with waits in between! Thanks furze
It will get done as long as: 1. You are willing to work long hours until you are dead tired and broke from the effort. 2. Or it can take a bit longer while you enjoy doing it. I have finally learned that #2 is worth the wait.
You should take some of the stone from the walls and have it cut into signet ring setting sizes, and polished. Even common stone can be finished to a high polish. Have the stones set into a set of rings for you and your mates to remember this project by. Least that's what I'd do, maybe I'm odd.
what you could do with that exposed rock face... How about a water and moss feature? You could put a livestock trough or similar below with a water pump sending to the top, chisel a bit to encourage the flow down a controlled area. Add a light, plant some moss, ferns etc. and have a little jungle.
This is not good enough, Colin. Waiting so long for our tunnelling/secret garage fix is causing problems. This promised next video better be quick or else we may have to send the boys round to sort you out ! Make it snappy, you hear.
11:06 - Colin Elbow Deep In Concrete 21:00 - I wonder if there are conveyors that can simply this - essentially you only load the conveyor on bottom and on top it goes into a bin which is then unloaded into truck 26:10 - "Colin, you never used to be this slow" - hey, you're still aster than absolute majority of us, we're yet to even plan digging the hole

Very fitting that the ram did the final dig, after doing all the tunnel
😘😘😍😍💎💎❤❤💖💖👍👍
Super project. It's taking a long time because it is a huge undertaking to execute on your own! Fascinating to watch and more enjoyable than most TV entertainment. Thanks Colin.
The best way
my neighbour is 20 years in to a 2 year house build ..... best to do these things while youre young .... like under 80 :/
@@heartobefelt😂😂😂
I hope your relatives are blessed with hearts of saints. Man that sounds rough.
And I pray it'll all work out exceedingly nice in the end.
If you have kids I bet they know what they're gonna do when they grow up
If you gunna do it, don't rush it and always do it right.
One of my endurung memories of my Dad, a Vet, is of him with his hand up the back of a cow. Thank you for bringing that memory back, Colin.
He never did tell us if his house was calving or not.
I remember seeing that and with an elephant too.
Don’t say that about your own mother. Disgraceful.
Was he a vet in Milton Keynes?…….
@@gdfgggggfking hell 😂😂
👍👍💖💖❤❤💎💎😍😍😍😍😘😘💕💕
Dont worry about the wait Colin, “The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.” echoes well as time is a price too not just money. nice to the see the OG 'HUUUDraulic' ram in action! Its heartwarming to see you have a good team around you on this (and many other projects), from Freddie being a legend, your good lady Charlotte putting up with all of it and helping out, Tom getting in on the digging, and always a pleasure to see Rick back in the background I do hope hes doing well. Looking forward to the scan vid!
❤❤💕💕😍😍💖💖💖💖😘😘
I enjoy these 2Much vids, because it's a lot less manic then the main channel, and it's Colin being a guy doing a job. Thanks for sharing the hard work!
While still being Colin. I kinda like this Colin, I could have a brew with him.
@@RussTi Like it's the "real" Colin, and yeah, I relate more to this version. Cheers!
I commend you on your professionalism to finish the shot instead of getting irrationally angry at an inanimate object like I would have.

Who needs Thunderbirds when we have Colin Furze 🚀🚀🚀🚀 😀😀😀😀😀😀
With all going on in this country right now these videos regardless of how long it takes there very much appreciated Colin 😊
Colin don't worry about how long it takes, I get so excited when a new upload pings on my phone, it's the best thing on UA-cam by a country mile. Keep up the fantastic work and be safe 🙏👍👊
Much love Colin, stay strong it’s hard to get through, love to your family especially your wife who must be exhausted- thank you!
"It didn't used to take this long."
I know that feeling.
Summer? What summer!! fair to say you've battled the elements this year so don't be too hard on yourself. Don't think there's anybody else on the planet doing what your doing. Were just enjoying the ride!
💕💕💕💕😘😘💖💖💖💖😍😍😍😍
This is Awesome, Thanks for taking the time to share with the rest of us, Really looking forward to see how things progress over the coming months.
Bruh I ain't tripping, idk about the rest of the world but I love watching your vids. I know you have a family you spend time with so just glad you are even making vids 💪❤️ keep it up Colin
I've never seen anyone with your work ethic and patience.
You are Blessed.
10:50 you'd make a great veterinarian colin, youve got the technique for checking cows down perfectly

There's a calf in there somewhere
Hi Colin, I wanted to buy some awesome merch but everything is sold out! Happy you're doing so well, I'll wait for my chance to buy something and support you and your channel... Have a great one! Oh and don't be worried about being slow these days, it's the square meters or feet, that get you... Keep patient!
We didn't have a summer this year... you are at the mercy of the elements.
Love yo see the progress, you are so close!
11:30 In this video, Colin leans what it's like to be a vet

12:00 it looks like Colin has asked his house to turn it's head and cough 🫴🏻🍒😂
I was thinking birthing a cow
Yea, the other one is turn your head and cough! Lol

Colin. I have followed this from the beginning. Well done. We are with you all the way. Thanks for taking us on the journey
for what it's worth, time is what it is.
I imagine the smoke pouring out once the garage door opens
I imagine you'll get this effect for free on some days
Instead of buying a mansion to show off his wealth he just builds an underground tunnel system instead. 🗿
Also unlike @Jerry Rig Everything , colin is doing this mostly himself and with the help of friends unlike jerry / zack who is hiring dozens of companies and shoving sponsors down out throat
I watch this second channel before I got married, and now my wife is 4 month pregnant.. time sure flies..
Thats awesome that you got Charlotte involved in this, awesome to hear from her!!
It's funny because Colin is now the third youtuber I follow that's got their missus interacting from being the camera... 🤔
Keep up the good stuff!, Been watching for years and amazed by your workmanship
When people with passion, meet another people with passion, than they can make amazing stuff witch smile on their faces 👏😍👍
Hey, that's Tom Lamb! He's a farmer. You two seem like solid friends, the type that would spend all their time together if they could. Thanks for the video Colin, your grand vision is getting closer to completion and will be absolutely fantastic to see!
The new camerawoman is doing great work!
Jeez, this is some real proper sheetmetal work, what with the winch and all. You could use a crew of the guys that weld up ships!
Id love to be doing that full time for a living. I'm just a parttimer unpaid rn 😂
Take all the time you need Colin , I just love any content you make.
It doesn't matter how long it takes, we enjoy seeing how you move a stone every time and immediately see a very nice result
I think you should take a high-quality photo of the dirt wall have it printed on vinyl (high quality, of course), and adhere it to that wall when complete. Just an idea.
Or maybe tack weld some steel mesh on that wall when it's completed. Have it plastered carved and painted like the rock looks now.
He said ages ago he's going to try a window there and just doesnt know whether to leave it bare or fill the gap with epoxy
If he takes a couple highres photos at slightly different angles it would make a really nice 3D Displate for him to sell though
IIRC, he said he wasn't going to do it. There would be too much condensation/rain water on other side and he wouldn't be able to clean it off. Also, it would compromise the structural integrity of the wall.
❤❤💖💖💕💕💕💕👍👍👍👍🤞🤞
"I don't know why this project is taking so long" my brother in Christ you're building an underground garage and an underground tunnel that connects the house, shed, bunker and garage together as a two man team. Of course it's gonna take long😂
Don't you know that as soon as the camera isn't rolling, an army of gnomes takes over work and Colin's just "supervising"?
yes, but its been 5 years from the house to the car. Everything else was built before this
@@MarcoTedaldi That's not true, he has Oompa Loompas.
Just pick a shovel up and go help him🙄🤷🏻♂️
@@MarcoTedaldi rick and tom are pretty tall for being gnomes🤔
The slow down in progress is understandable the garage is a big step up from the rest of the tunnel
I think what you do is awesome, so inspiring and really entertaining to watch. I'd love to see you travel the country helping other people with their unique home improvement projects.
Brilliant content. Good things come to those who wait. Been watching since the first bunker and never let down even with waits in between! Thanks furze
20:24 Is that also why Tom bought the small bucket too.... take a few more days shovelling!! 😂😂
It will get done as long as:
1. You are willing to work long hours until you are dead tired and broke from the effort.
2. Or it can take a bit longer while you enjoy doing it.
I have finally learned that #2 is worth the wait.
Thanks for all the hard work on these videos!
What you up to today then colin? “Funny you ask, I’ve taken up nuclear fission.” 😂
This is not good enough, Colin. Waiting so long for our tunnelling/secret garage fix is causing problems. This promised next video better be quick or else we may have to send the boys round to sort you out ! Make it snappy, you hear.
11:06 - Colin Elbow Deep In Concrete
21:00 - I wonder if there are conveyors that can simply this - essentially you only load the conveyor on bottom and on top it goes into a bin which is then unloaded into truck
26:10 - "Colin, you never used to be this slow" - hey, you're still aster than absolute majority of us, we're yet to even plan digging the hole
Don't have to worry about us dear Colin, we will still be here even if it takes years ❤
Keep up the great work, Colin. Remember, a positive attitude will make everything go right (well, at least if they don't, it won't seem as bad).
Welcome back Rick's back!
🙂
Ive been working, and I really needed to move this piece of metal around without hitting Rick in the back. Oh, there's ricks back
The reason it's bad luck to walk under a ladder is that the pillock standing on the ladder will most likely drop something on your head
That rockery in your garden must be enormous by now Colin.
😁👍
Colin keep going you have done so well so far and the end is near your support team of 68k are on your side saying yes
"Funny you should ask" needs to be the motto of this channel! I love it!
Collin, I hope you know that progress videos are for the main channel. Over here, we're looking for UPDATE videos! How are you doing, what are you up to? What are you excited about? What's got you down? Where's Chris Bibby?
if someone is graving for more Colins tunnel videos then Tom Lamb just uploaded 2 videos from his perspective of the dig a couple of days ago ;)
Colin your so slow but it's looking amazing
It was a really wet summer remember, so don't be too hard on yourself. It's looking amazing.
Neil Armstrong at work, "one small stepladder for a man!" 😂😂
Colin, you need to invent a work tower possibly made from connectable metal tubes with a platform from may be planks of wood. I can't work out the technical bits but I'm sure it'll make a stable and safe working area when working at height. 😊
You're not slow its just a massive project! Keep up the work, at least you'll be underground for winter. Need a better temporary roof cover for winter if anything but I'm sure you are already a few steps ahead.
