    • @dodo.h2
      @dodo.h2 2 роки тому +7

      I wouldn't say they were rude, they just don't speak English so it was an uncomfortable situation for them and the camera didn't help as well. A lot of people don't want to be filmed for obvious reasons. They probably couldn't even understand the language.
      The lady asked him in Hungarian to check if he speaks it to help her. He didn't so she wanted to get out of it as quick as possible.
      Thanks to our educational system, most of the people don't speak or aren't comfortable to use any foreign language besides certain areas of Budapest, not even German (which could be more useful in some cases, as Austria and Germany are closer).

    André, it's bad to see you got a plain garlic lángos. That's not how most people eat it. Then when you went back and got only cheese on it, that's just ridiculous from that woman who served you. I don't think I've ever seen anyone eating lángos with cheese but without sour cream.
    These are the levels:
    Plain lángos
    Lángos with sour cream
    Lángos with sour cream and cheese.
    In addition all these 3 can be seasoned with garlic oil.
    Next time you come back to Hungary tell them: Sajtos tejfölös lángos please. You will love it.

      @@ww1www Sorry, I just noticed your reply. Yes, I'm sure. Many people eat it with just garlic or garlic oil, but i'd say with sour cream and cheese is the most typical. Lágnos with just cheese? They don't even list that option on the menu. If you want cheese on it, you automatically want sour cream too

    • @qorilla
      @qorilla 2 місяці тому

      People are split. on this. There are some old school langos eaters who prefer the barebones version with just garlic oil, while the other big version is sour cream and cheese. But the garlic-only version is quite traditional too, peasants didn't have fancy cheese and sour cream always ready to go...

    • @PhotoOwl

      Lángos with sour cream and cheese. In addition all these 3 can be seasoned with garlic oil."
      We are basically saying the same things. Yes, lángos with just garlic is also a thing, but lángos with just cheese isn't. If you put cheese on it then you also put sour cream on it.

    The different honey colours are depends on the pollen that the bees did collected. If the pollen is from acacia tree flower its gonna be a different colour than the one if they collected from linden tree flower, or from wild flowers for example. Simple as that. With the Langos there was a miscommunication. She asked id you would like to have sour cream on it in hungarian but you did not understand it, and she did not speak english so she just gave you the most basic one.

    Veszprém is my hometown and we used to go to that market many times when I was a kid. There were big bazaars outside on every Tuesday and Friday that time.
    By the way, you should have put sour cream as well on the lángos like she suggested.
    Kefir is not exactly a drink, it’s like yogurt as she explained there.
    EDIT: Also, if you want some really fine honey, go to the opposite direction from the beginning of the video, turn left by the wide road and when you see an old green building on the right, turn there and walk down the street until the end. There’s the house of my old neighbor who makes the best honey 😂

    For lángos: We mixing water, flour, sugar, salt yeast and milk(some using yoghurt or sour cream, depend what they think is working more).
    And we don't use an over for it, we use a big bowl of boiling oil.
    You can also find "kenyér lángos" what is looks like a small square pizza to you.
    Almost the same dough, just with baked potato instead of milk, so you will have more like a "heavy pizza dough", baked in an oven.

    The color of honey is different because it is made from different flowers. Beekeepers can make pure honey from only one type of flower. In addition, there are also mixed flower honeys, they are cheaper.

    The color of the honey depends on the flower the bees are captured. The most frequent honeys are made from "mixed flowers", acacia, linden. The price also depends on the basic plant. The "cheapest" is the mixed flower, and one of the most pricier is the chestnut honey. The opacity depends on the amount of sugar and how the sugar behaves in it. But beware, the honey is usually forged / faked.
    Kefír is a drink producedfrom milk and somekind of mushrooms. I suppose bulgarians also drink this.

They could give you some grated cheese on the top and smotana in slovakian, which is like sour cream on the top of it. maybe creme freche. that is delicious, like the creamy halusky in slovakia that you had before. I hope you are enjoying Hungary.

      I wanted to visit Bratislava, get some Bryndza for my sandwiches, get a beer, and whatnot but the drivers went full GTA the moment they saw our Hungarian license plate... I have at least 1/16 Slovak ancestry by the way. Do you know a place where I could get Žinčica from in the southern parts where I won't get beaten up for being from Hungary?

    • @sandokan5410

      @@redactedcanceledcensored6890 Oh cmon dont be so dramatic. You definitely wont get beat in the south since there is lot of hungarians/half-hungarians living. Bigger problem is that you probably cant get zincica or bryndza in the south (maximally in supermarket), because its only traditional in the north/east region where you can get it in every restaurant or small shop.

    Kefir is actually sour milk. Altough we drink it for nutritional supplement mostly. By the way differ color honey means differ ingredients and taste. Liked your tour in my hometown, but should let you know you were only at the small market in the city center, tho the only one with heating and roof. The hugest market is way out from city center and 4-5 times bigger than that one and its an open-area market.
