- 3 Reasons not to get a Suzuki Gixxer 250? First, if you want to feel a sense of thrill and enjoyment while riding, the Suzuki may not be the best option for you. Slower and cheaper machines like the TVS Apache RTR 200 do a far better job of this and while the frantic nature of the KTM 200 Duke will put off some people, it's also more exciting to ride. Second, if you're looking for a calm and quick city bike, the Bajaj Pulsar N250 which is an extremely competent commuter and shows off quality levels better than Bajaj's ever managed before, is Rs 28,000 less! Third and this is a near constant, Suzuki's service quality is inconsistent. Do check our other Suzuki stories and FAQs... owners have left names of dealers who did a good job but there are many people who did not like what they experience with Suzuki service.

I have done 40k kms in my 2019 bs4 sf250. Engine is gem. I take care of my bike at high priority. Using full synthetic oil and oil change at 4k kms . No issues so far im 100% sure my bike will touch 1 lakh kms 👍
Unsure if it's just my bike, but I got a Gixxer SF250 last year December and have covered 4700kms.
Did the break-in of engine only after 2500kms.
However, after the break-in and the service after that, I realised the engine makes a metallic noise.
Brought this issue up with Suzuki service centre.
They checked the bike and gave back stating they fixed it.
Surprise surprise, it isn't.
Have used two 250cc vehicles before this to know that the sound is not normal.
There are lots of issues reported with Suzuki 250cc engine. Especially high vibrations afrer, say 5000+kms
Same issue is there with Yezdi bikes as well when I took a test ride of entire Yezdi line up heard this same kind of sound in it when I asked to the service centre they said me that it’s normal

It's a common thing for 155cc Gixxer too.. I have the 2015 model Gixxer and clocked 80,000km with that metallic sound. No issue till now. I think that's how these engines sound.
I've been riding this since dec 2020. Took it for long ride multiple times. Initially i felt discomfort over slightly bad patches and clutch was hard..gears were stiff and bit hard to shift...
Now i got adjusted to all of it and i really love to ride it anytime.
It can cruise 110-120 all day easily- no vibes..
Service centers in Bengaluru is good enough..
Raised the handlebar 2inces which provides relaxed ergos on long rides.
Only concern is that sloppy seat - need to modify it and make it flat. And pillion comfort is so terrible... Not sure why they provided it in 2nd floor 😅. Its hard to hop on it.
You just spoke my mind. I stay in Bengaluru too. And looking to do something with the seat.
Recently I did get new MRF steel brace for my Suzuki 250, it is really good in terms of braking, damping road variations compared to the stock tyres.
How much is the maintenance cost?
How it compares to Apache?
Suzuki and Honda haven't given us what we've been asking for so long. Only underwhelming products with high prices.

The service guys at Suzuki service Dombivli fulfill the job quite satisfactorily as required.
Have taken my BS-6 Avenis for 3 routine services till date and the experience had been a 7.5 or 8/10 till date.
Duly filled job-sheets, reminders/followup calls, delivery within a few hours & no push towards buying unnecessary add-ons.
I bought a used one, BS4 Feb 2020, 7200 kms.... had finalized Pulsar N250, but found Gixxer 250 on OLX for a decent deal
How much did you get it for ?
It's very helpful short and the last point is 10000%Correct. Service Experience is worst. If there is better word then worst I would put that.
Except service issues, Suzuki engine is a gem to ride with

In México, Suzuki #1 in good techical service, Bajaj is not and is far to be better than Suzuki quality. Bajaj is is far to be good quality and KTM omg here is too expensive and is bad in technical service. SUZUKI #1

Owner of two suzukis here. Never faced any issues regarding service experience in Guwahati, but I swear service experience in Delhi was a scam. One denied me my 4th free service, while another (so called authorised service centre) never made an entry of my service in the Suzuki system. Thankfully the service centre at guwahati did my 4th free service without any questions just by checking their system.

I will be the lone crusader against this bike ! The engine is a BORE !!!! The chassis is for touring and is slow to change direction !! You will learn to use it as an appliance rather than an emotion evoking ride.
I don't like the Suzuki product lineup at all. Doesn't matter which product it is. So I guess you aren't alone.
Not sure about the chassis, as the bike corners well, but the engine is absolutely boring. Clocked 25k kms, but I never felt that this is the bike I always wanted.
@@samarthmodi188 I've ridden R15 and KTM RC with the Gixxer 250 , so I guess compared to those two, the Gixxer was way more comfortable but less flickable

I found something different. I have pulsar 150 standard model, choosen that just because of service and spare parts. But waited to get critical parts and service centres ripped me 11000 RS and not solved wobbling issue.
Where my cousin owns gixxer 150, happy about suzuki service in Bangalore.
I will never go for indian brand again.

I am Planning to buy gixxer 250sf.but after watching this I need to rethink on this. Please suggest other 2 bikes in this segment.... Pulsar n250 or apache 200. Besides also make video on both. I am in age of 40s so don't want go for KTM like bikes.

Sf250 is a great option, pulsar N250 doesn't have high speed stability and rtr 200 is not as good as sf 250 so, already you have chosen the best option.
Honda cb300f is good choice

In terms of performance, it is not possible to have the best 250 cc engine with the same power as the Suzuki engine, as it is the most powerful and overcomes the capacity of 300 cc. Performance is pleasure.
Owner of 2018 Gixxer SF reporting that service center experience in Silchar, Assam is so bad that it even makes the roadside mechanics with zero experience look better. If its your first bike, then beware of scams like being asked to replace perfectly fine working parts and luring you into buying 2nd hand parts sourced from other innocent customers, because stock isn't available. Bike is great but experience is equally shitty.

Service for my access 125 in Bangalore has been very bad the mechanics mess up something at every service

Being a Gixxer 155 owner for 8 years, I swear I'll never buy another Suzuki bike again. Suzuki after sells service is shitiest and the availability of spares are nightmare. So think before buy one. Motorcycles are good but not the service. Although in 8 years clocking close to 70k km i have to change blockhead 3 times as suzuki's service centre's reckless jobs.

Not just three, there's a list of reasons for no buying it. Apart from 250cc engine everything about gixxer and sf250 is disappointing.

Suzuki is the mother of over-engineering. Being part of the Big-4 they make beautiful and reliable machines. But, unlike the other three, they just sit around for years even decades before updating. That's where the issue lies.
