My great-grandmother was hired to make biscuits at a local restaurant. She and all the wait-staff/clean-up were hired for 10 cents an hour. After tasting her biscuits, they started paying her 25 cents an hour so she wouldn't leave. The biscuits were so delicious that the place was soon so full of customers that there was a line out the door all day, every day. Yes, we are still so proud of her!

If you press the 'o' for a couple of seconds an option panel will pop up that will include an impact. Holding the 'o' with one hand tap the umlaut panel with the other. The ordinary 'o' will change to an 'o' with an umlaut over it. For future reference. Its fiddly and there's probably a better way but thats what I do.

Then straight away told if we don't make it we are missing out! But I am glad I did, as the bread's doughy soft centre looks just right! Thanks for sharing this. And you didn't waste that last bit of precious melted butter left in the glass dish either :)
My aim was to sincerely make sure that no one misses this recipe and makes it at home. Since I come from the 60-70 generation, we don't waste anything :))))

You are so right, it is a really delicious bread. Be sure to try it. The smell of warm bread is fascinating. I don't put anything on the razor. However, if the dough is too wet, flour the bread a little and then cut it with a razor. Or oil the razor. Thank you for this nice comment.

If you do decide to make this, or any recipe, then do yourself a huge favor and buy a scale. They're not very expensive. Using a scale makes baking with grams very easy. Grams are a more precise method of measuring baking ingredients. It's very easy to convert a recipe using flour from ounces/cups to grams. Most people who are bakers use 144 grams to a cup of flour.

Cold water! I make bread all the time just use 3 cups of flour 2 tsp sugar with 1 and half teaspoon of yeast. Stir. With warm water and sugar. To activate the yeast. Then add my flour maybe a little more water little salt. Kneed well cover with plastic wrap light over it let rise an hour then push and kneed let rise a second time. Then use parchment paper in a hot Dutch oven 450 preheat with pan then add dough make cuts add seeds if you like bake for 35 min. More of a crust take cover off leave 5 more minutes in oven. Comes out perfect every time

You must correct the spcifications on your ingridients list. 500g of bread flour IS NOT 5 CUPS ,but 4 cups. The unit of 17.6oz IS NOT the same as 5 cups, but 2.2 cups. This only create problems is we try to follow your instructions.

Everybody has an umlaut. You just have to find it. German keyboard. Or just copy and paste from somewhere. Not hard. öööööööüüüüüüüüüüüääääääääääää

Was the receipt 5 cups of flour ? You use cold water to put the yeast into. I always thought you had to put the yeast into warm water ?

Hay muchas razones para esto.
-- El valor proteico y el contenido de humedad de la harina que utiliza son importantes. Mi humilde consejo es que consigas la harina en la panadería de tu barrio. La harina que se vende en el mercado no es muy conveniente. Debe ser harina panificable. La harina común para repostería y baklava no es apta para pan.
-- Asegúrate de hornear el pan en un ambiente lleno de vapor (a menos que sea una receta especial). Si su horno no tiene función de vapor, ponga agua hirviendo en un recipiente y coloque el recipiente en el fondo del horno.
-- El pan debe hornearse a temperatura alta y colocarse en un horno caliente.

You must correct the spcifications on your ingridients list. 500g of bread flour IS NOT 5 CUPS ,but 4 cups. The unit of 17.6oz IS NOT the same as 5 cups, but 2.2 cups. This only create problems is we try to follow your instructions.
