  • *SIMILAR CLASSIC CARS ALWAYS REQUIRED*
A supreme and majestic Rolls Royce Silver Spur II with royal ownership and complete history.
    EQUIPMENT
Chrome radiator grill, 'Spirit of Ecstasy' bonnet ornament, chrome bumpers, electronic ride height control, front air dam, green tinted glass, headlamp wash, alarm and remote central locking, lockable illuminated glove box and centre console, leather steering wheel, power windows, electric door mirrors, 12 way electric front seats with memory and two stage heating, individual electric rear seats with recline, twin level air conditioning, folding picnic tables, big and small toolkit in boot, front and rear cigar lighters, premium stereo system and 12 speakers, lambs wool rugs. Factory options; non-standard hide upholstery, roof lining in hide, rear parcel shelf in hide, fire extinguisher, fascia top roll in hide, facia under dash in hide, birds eye maple veneer.
    EXTERIOR
A motor car of true distinction this Rolls Royce Silver Spur is finished in regal Masons Black, (Code 9500701), which encapsulates the traditional qualities and imposing wonder this marque represents. Exquisite chrome detailing contrasts against the deep gloss paint and the Charles Sykes' figurine, The Spirt of Ecstasy stands proud and bold. The twin silver coach line and slate grey roof offer aesthetically pleasing design cues and close scrutiny reveals only minor markings justified in 24 years of driving pleasure. All distinguishing badging informs the knowledgeable of the significant and highly sought after differences between this model and the Silver Spirit and the sheer joy and excitement that awaits the new owner.
    INTERIOR
Sumptuously upholstered in Parchment Savoy Velvet, (Code A3672), this was a cost option over the standard leather! Reserved normally for the Head of State Rolls Royce Phantoms due to the luxurious relaxing nature of the material. Clearly interior ambience was of prime importance to the first long term royal owner as almost every interior luxury item was specified including roof-lining in hide! Electrically adjustable rear seating utilises to the full the Silver Spurs additional rear compartment length with the healboard lamps and lambswool rugs still in place. All electric controls, gauges and warning lights function and there is a small out of sight hole to the bottom of the driver's seat. Craftsmanship personified and the epitome of Rolls Royce prestige and indulgence.
    ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Propelled by an engine designed to give a smooth, responsive performance on demand with almost all engine components hand machined and assembled with precision engineering. The eight cylinder engine with a cubic capacity of 6.75 litres is controlled by a K-Motronic digital fuel injection and ignition control system. In Rolls Royce tradition performance figures are not quoted. The automatic gearbox with electronic gear range selector is seamless.
    WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Aluminium alloy wheels with full width Rolls Royce lockable chrome hubcaps are shod in AVON Turbospeed 235/70 R15 tyres with ample tread. Powerful disc brakes, ventilated at front, have anti-lock and stop the car perfectly.
    HISTORY FILE
Phenomenal. Supplied by Jack Barclay Limited, London, in June 1990, a letter in the file confirms ownership by the family of the King of Saudi Arabia and that it was impeccably maintained by the supplying Main Dealer up to May 2002 and 59,577 miles. Since this point Taylor's Rolls Royce and Bentley Specialists have annually continued to maintain the car with a complete service book fully stamped and accompanying invoices revealing the care lavished on this car. The last entry being in April 2014. With just three former keepers, 73,538 miles and an absolute complete history file the next owner can relax and enjoy the traditional qualities synonymous with the Rolls-Royce marque which cost the first owner £101,424.61 in 1990!
All handbooks contained within the black leather folder are included along with a sales brochure and price list from 1990.
MOT February 2015, Tax February 2015 and HPI Clear.

Ian Whyte Sorry to hear that Ian. I never had one, although my mother did. I have something even better, I think. A 1965 Silver Cloud III, which I bought in 1982. No computers, no DVD player, no sparkling roof lights. These earlier ones really are perfection.

I love to see these cars with velvet rather than leather. If I could have afforded a Turbo R in the early 90s (if only) I would have ordered the velvet. Looks and feels so luxurious.

Very interesting to see without the leather seats I know it is very popular in Japan to have wool and considered very luxurious as opposed to leather, also if this went to Saudi Arabia it was probably much cooler to sit upon, rather than the hot leather in their desert environment. On another note, wouldn't recommend smoking in this Rolls, as hot cigar or cigarette ashes could definitely burn the seat pretty quickly etc.

hot leather, it´s the better material for hot places or do you think that wool is fresh where i live isn´t, south of Portugal where rich are really rich and poor are really poor, and me in the midle buying cars that no one wants very cheap ,this is an example of one, i own others, like the silvershadow and the bentley version of it

@@RUfromthe40s I live in Saudi. At work we have two Landcruisers, one with leather the other with cloth. In the middle of summer temperatures reach 50 degrees and the cloth seats are more comfortable.

@@nickyboy. you´re right too ,but where i live it´s most of summer days 45 or more ,and cloth just gets glued to our jeans or synthectic fabric that´s cooler but with time driving every day ,the cloth gets sticky with sweat and dust ,leather you just pass a humidified piece of suede and it gets easy cleaned, the cloth makes one having to take out all seats and send them to be cleaned with dry type cleaning machine, but this is because we have still 7 nissan´s terrano from late 90´s early 2000´s (all have cloth seats)also two new toyota´s Hilux with doble cabin with leather seats, this new model is automatic change of 2x4 or 4x4 high and low gear ,with only two years we already have alf a million km´s ,some 20 years ago there was lack of cars to go to the countryside and i took a nissan cherry from early 80´s ,the biggest car from Nissan at the time but with kind of velour synthetic fabric ,it was stoped for more than 10 years because it was a powerfull engine but a gasoline one ,either than spending lot´s of money in gasoline the seats were never cleaned ,after driving 200 km´s the smell was like rotten flesh i almost trew up with the smell ,this is why we prefer leather wich is easy to clean, before we had land cruisers but the 60´s model that in Portugal, because of the 74 revolution (before we had a violent dictator) and cars weren´t all available so the all road land cruisers were new in the 80´s but the model from late 60´s new and they were the best but while driving in the countryside ,because everything was made of metal some would beat their heads against the metal inside and after they had to go to a hospital to take some stitches ,we also had UMM´s a Portuguese brand with peugeot engine also all made of metal , the name UMM was union metalo-mechanic, they were the best for driving off road. but they looked ancient or cheap but a incredible 4x4 ,even in the 80´s a rally that started in marroco and across the desert till Nouakchott ,Mauritania a bit north of Senegal (where Dakar is) ,in western Sahara, the touaregs atacked the convoy and all 4x4´s were taken, but they looked to the UMM´s (portuguese fabric)and didn´t took them ,too ugly and looking cheap ,if not for that ,all would have died in the desert ,but thank´s to us with cheap 4x4´s all climbed on top of the car´s and arrived safe to Mauritania, those touaregs were peaky ,with only camels they didn´t like our cars ,that´s what saved everybody in the rally we were all stoped to rest and eat. This rally was kind of a training for the paris-dakar, when it was really from paris to dakar and no brands envolved only guy´s who transformed their own vehicules and dared to cross africa and the Sahara, there were rolls royce´s silver shadow to renault 4´s, the Porshe 911´s were good for the desert they used to win at least for 4 years(this transformed by their owners). Sorry i started to writte about seats fabric and ended up talking about rally´s , regards

J F I agree 100%. The funny thing is RR probably charged extra! Now it probably won't bring half the price without leather. I would not have it for any price!! I hate cloth of any kind! Oddly, the RR limousines from the P Vl back to the early 1900's Limousines almost all had cloth to the rear, and leather in the chauffeurs compartment. Even Lincoln and Cadillac.
