A little over twenty years ago I owned an MZ Silver Star. It was a great bike as long as you knew its limitations. It had a 500cc Rotax engine and enclosed chain drive and was a great bike for secondary roads. Commuting back and forth to work and curvy roads on the weekends. The engine was not happy over 60MPH, the vibrations through the seat, pegs and bars made a tachometer unnecessary. Living on Long Island, NY at the time, some of my co-workers would tease me that I was riding a moped instead of my Yamaha sport bike that I owned at the same time. Most of them were either sport bike or Harley owners.
Get a bit sentimental here watchin so many of the bikes from me growing up in the 50s and 60s. Always been a MC addict, even today at 72 I have 7 bikes from 50cc and up! I so remember that MZ 125 -67 or 69. A friend of mine also had a 250 MZ! That is the only one I have ever seen as the Japanese took over completely around 68. The Moto Guzzi used to leak a bit of oil after a while. Thanks for your videos! It is medicine for us MC veterans still going strong on two wheels! I even spend half the year touring in Thailand. THAT is exiting!! LOL! 😆
Thanks to a very generous brother, who taught me to ride on his Guzzi Stornello, equipped with ace bars, alloy guards and a reverse cone mega, obviously the most gorgeous thing ever to this 13 year old; thus was born my lifelong love with Guzzis, which included a Royale, and a Norge...........bliss, thank you......
I'm an older man, maybe always an older man at heart. So the exclusion of Matchless, is a bit of a disappointment. None the less, I'm here for all the bikerdood vids.
be good to see the bikes you are talking about and in sync..not heaps of more modern models randomly filling the screen..I love your clips generally but would have for instance liked to see the guzzi in line racing v twin as you discuss it.
My TS150 “Eagle” was all I could afford in 1984 (£50). Did 20k on it, wonderful machine haha.
Had a couple on MZs always found them surprisingly enjoyable to ride
@@bikerdood1100 Good man! Yes, great torque and when I inverted the handlebars it seemed like a cafe racer. Very good videos, thoroughly enjoyable.

Had an MZ saxon tour 251. Loved it.
Styling was getting a bit wacky by then
Very capable bikes no doubt

These were made just to keep the channel ticking over while I rode across America
In both directions
