Be sure to watch part 1 where I kit-bashed this overpass. ua-cam.com/video/5_JHvvGZAoY/v-deo.html
[thank, you for you're video]👍
Nicely done.
What great tips for making a bridge look realistic and weathered. Keep up the great work and keep sharing it with all of us modelers on UA-cam. We love to watch and learn.
-from Tom Pilling
Very nice, that bridge came out looking very realistic
Thanks Joe.
Great job!:)
Ron: You look very nice in a button down collar shirt! Adds class to your show. There's no need to always wear T shirts, just because lots of less valuable U Tube N scalers shows sport them. It's nice to have a top grade show like yours around!!!
Thanks.
Looking good Ron, thanks !!
looking good ron keep going
Nice Work Ron !
Thanks Ron , The bridge build is very cool and looking forward to the abutment.
Mike
Thank you Mike.
Very realistic . Thanks for sharing.

excellent job. at the start i was thinking it looked way to uniformed. but once it was all blended together. it just has that real look. awesome.
Thanks, Sparky.
Yup, I really enjoyed that. It looks incredible. Nice work Ron!
Thanks, Steve.
Nice step by step, Ron. I used to railfan at lunch by the Saginaw grain elevators. Lots of traffic. Great area. I look forward to seeing more of your miniature version.
I drove through there twice a day to and from work for 3 years, which is why I decided to model the area--it simply begged to me modeled. Thanks for your comment.
enjoyed the video very much.
Good show....thanks for sharing....Jack
Very nice
Great job as always, Ron! Looks perfect
Thanks Jeff.
They look great, Ron.
Thanks.
Looks really good!
Hey, James. Thanks.
Looks good Ron, I use chalk powder to weather my roads.
Ron, thank you for this how to video. I will use this as reference. John
Hi, John. Thanks.
hi Ron... your over passes look great .. 2 thumbs up... vinny
Thanks Vinny. Good to see you.
Just need to add a Stobe the Hobo type character underneath the bridge when you're finished.
Good looking results.
Thanks.
Both the Ammo by Mig and AK Interactive products are fantastic for weathering just about anything. Great stuff. :)
Yes, they are somewhat new products for me but I am loving them.

Thanks, Gary.
After you get your masks in place you can spray the model with dull coat before you paint your strips. It's a trick i picked up from modeling camouflage on military models. Looks awesome.Thank you for sharing another outstanding video.
I have done that when air brushing, but with these little strioes it just didn't seem necessary.
Fantastic tutorial, the detail you put on these things is incredible. Your audio sounds a little different, did you change something in the editing?
I recorded a voice over for this video instead of talking as I modeled. It makes a better video, but it also takes more time so I don't always get it done.
Looks great Ron! Love seeing the techniques you use. I'm a huge fan of weathering powder on plastic as well.
I've driven across that bridge many times. Are you going add DFW rush hour traffic!!! LOL
I used to drive across it twice a day myself. I do have a plan for traffic, but that is yet another video.
I thought you would airbrush the stripes, but your brush technique of coloring in a faded manner was darn good. I hope you find a backdrop to blend the overpass into the skyboard.
I haven't quite figure out how that is going to work yet, bu rest assured it will not stay as it is.
as long as it is not over troubled waters
Coming together nicely Ron. One question - one track under the bridge? I thought there were two in the prototype inspiration.
There were, but I'm not modeling the double main here.
The overpasses look great. I was just curious why you didn't scratch build the entire thing? It looks simple enough.
Chuck
Yes, but there isn't time to scratch build everything. I have plenty to scratch build. When there is a kit that gets me 60% of the way there I will go with it.
I’m looking to make a four lane bridge. Is it possible to kitbash a four lane overpass (undivided) with a Rix Kit?
Sure, just but join the edges. I would add a little extra styrene in the middle, similar to what I did here, then Jersey barriers down the middle.
Hi Ron, what is the grid size on the cutting mat.. cheers
1/2"
Hi Ron, I was wonder what foam you use? Should I use styrofoam for hills and mountains?
Use extruded foam, not bead board. You will be much happier. You can find it at lumber and building stores.
First
Ron have you tried this for highway signs? www.kurumi.com/roads/signmaker/signmaker.html
I have not, but I am looking at it and it looks great. Thanks for the tip.
Started new layout: Pics and more on Railwire BNSF PONDEROSA SUB
I used it on a Rix project on my first N layout in 2008. Might have some pics - Stand by.
