I just got this lens about 2 weeks ago and love it. I am by no means a professional photographer. I just enjoy taking pictures of wildlife and being outdoors. I find it is so relaxing. I have heard that the L series in this lens is amazing but until I get to that level and expense this one works great for me.
It is a superb lens and one of the best Canon lower budget lenses on the market and light to use compared to L series lens (which I own a few of) and a go to put in my bag when out for a few hours on the local patch...cant fault it
im about to get this same set up, used, wondering how your liking it, now...a few months on? much appreciated. also to anyone else that can offer thoughts good or bad.?
I've been wanting this lens... I could only afford a Canon EOS 800D (Rebel in USA) ... will this lens with my camera give me fairly good nature photos of birds, etc? thanks!!!!
If I have the Canon M50 and I use this lens with the Canon adapter, will I have the 1.6 cutout or will I lose that cutout when using the mount adapter?
When using a Canon EF or EF-S lens with the Canon M50 using the EF to EF-M mount adapter, the crop factor of 1.6x is still retained. The adapter does not affect the crop factor of the camera. So, even though you're using a full-frame lens designed for Canon's EF mount on a crop sensor camera like the M50, you will still experience the crop factor characteristic of APS-C sensors, which is 1.6x with Canon's APS-C cameras. This means that the field of view you get with the lens on the M50 will be equivalent to multiplying the focal length of the lens by 1.6x. For example, a 50mm lens on the M50 would have a field of view similar to that of an 80mm lens on a full-frame camera.
Very nice 👍, the aperture is rather similar to 100-400. I haven't ever been out in a typhoon but where I'm going shortly the dust I expect to be everywhere & the 5D M 4 won't be looking anywhere near as clean as yours. The weather protection offers some peace of mind if it rains etc & you can't go back soon or ever again. Agree for most shooting it should be fine!
the daniel life Typical tourists travel , a bit of everything really. Many similar images to this video & others you've made. Sometimes ✈️ spotting for which I use a much older 70-300 on an old Canon 600D , so for 5D 4 looking at the 100-400 or 70-200 with tc? Very much looking forward to seeing the 85mm f1.4 then I may do some portrait to my tourists images. On that electronic display I understand that it should convert focal length into full frame equivalent when using a aps-c camera, not shown on full frame camera in this video.
Hi, i just got this lens (second hand), and so far i did manage to get a pin sharp image :( There is a bit on improvement if i close to f/8.0. I hope there is nothing wrong it.
It won't come close to the Nikon P900 cool pic zoom. I have one and it's great to zoom on targets. The moon is clear with not much shaking. However, I do recommend a quality universal tripod. I highly recommend it if your a private investigator. The shutter speed is slightly slower that I expected. I'm still getting use to using it. The first night I unboxed it. I was shocked to see strange lights in the sky that appeared stacked. Low and behold I captured a UFO and as my staff watched 7 of the orb looking things zip back and forth in the blink of the eye. The sky in the back of my farm attracted human made air craft who noticed the same orbs we did. I should've adjusted the lens manually but I captured enough proof to what we all watched in awww. My problem is I want to capture night stars and dust nebulous images. I'm not sure if it can handle it. I also have a Canon EOS SL2 REBEL. I'm sending it out to have some modification work and I may send my Nikon P900 along to. I want my cameras full performance without having to spend $3,000 or more. It voids warranty but it's still worth the risk. I'm amazed the extra enhancements cameras can provide if there modified. Anyway. I hope I answered your question but I'm far from a professional. In the event someone with experience decides to blast me. Take it somewhere else.
@@the_daniel_life My Apology. I later on saw the whole video and saw that she was using the display rather than view finder. I couldn't ignore the they way she used its zoom lens. BTW you have gr8 content. All the very best :)

Pressing and holding down the MODE button for several seconds will change the display from dark to light. (the colors will invert).
Next lens on my list. Thanks for this review! A great budget upgrade from my 55-250mm.
Hello, happy to hear that. I was really impressed with it‘s quality. Daniel
How good Is this lens for my 90d ???
It is a superb lens and one of the best Canon lower budget lenses on the market and light to use compared to L series lens (which I own a few of) and a go to put in my bag when out for a few hours on the local patch...cant fault it
I do appreciate your useful comment on this video. I agree, stunning lens, in terms of price and quality. Daniel
It’s also much lighter and less flashy than the L version
Hi.. based on sharpness and autofocus speed..which one is better ?? The L version or the plain one ??

Daniel
I shoot cars and was wondering if you would recommend this lens
Yes I do. Cheap, light weight and fits onto EF and EF-s mounts. Daniel
Hi, would it work on motorsport?
Yes it will.
Take a camera with a good autofocus system. Daniel
Can I zoom out to the moon with this puppy?
You can actually ua-cam.com/video/i8o9GeAOwwI/v-deo.html
Is this compatible with the t3i?
Yes, like all EF-S and EF lenses.
A very nice and informative review. Vielen Dank!
Thanks a lot for your support. Daniel
its ok for canon 60d?
This will work. Daniel
Hi. I can mount this lens in my Canon 7D
Hello mate, yes you can
the daniel life Tanks!! Excellent video.

Thanks for showing me that u have to hold a dslr like that GG's
GG?
You got my support again
Thanks

never tried the L-version. Maybe soon. Daniel

How this beast could be cheap?
How she hold the lens. Ha ha. Lol
Well, her way of doing it 😃
Great review
thasts not a level meter.
You are welcome. Daniel
Hallo,
why is the lady handling the camera as if she is handling the DSLR for first time
Because she usually deals with mirrorless cameras. So you were right. Holding a dslr for the first time. 🤩

Wouldn't call $ 700.00 dollars cheap. Lenses are too dang high anyway. Good lense for the mula.
If you compare it with more common lenses like the 70-200mm than you can call it cheap.
Daniel
Saw a lense the other day 78,000.
At this price you should add 200$ and get 70 200 f2.8 is on eBay 👍
True story. Thanks for the hint. Daniel
How do you manage 200-300mm?!?
200 would be useless to me. 400+
Who the f*ck shoots with both eyes open???
£700, "cheap"
Cheapoooo
@@the_daniel_life I mean! you can get similar lenses for £200 in new-like condition, and even cheaper lenses for £80 which will still do the job.
I got it.
700$ is not cheap at all.
I could get an RF lens for this price.
Daniel
The lady(model) doesn't know how to hold a camera.
Well she holds it like a beginner. Maybe she is a beginner and not a pro-camera-controller :)
