Thank you much! And don’t worry, Greg isn’t permanently outside, outside of a couple hours on Halloween, he lives on our set inside. And we have enough layers of gesso and latex house paint that he’s decently sealed against the elements. We also got two inches of snow this Halloween, and he survived!
Greg has survived two halloweens outside. And he is sealed fairly well with latex house paint and acrylic paint. However we do keep him inside off-season and will bring him in at night when it’s spooky season. So in a long winded way, yes he could survive outside fine with how we’ve sealed the paper mache.

I’d like to make this with weatherproof papier mache.
We actually have him coated in enough house paint and varnish that he’s pretty much water proof.
