"The exit is on the other side of the train" "okay thanks" walks down the platform not listening at all
I mean, he *did* walk to the other side of the train.
"the OTHER other side"
“Thank you for the info, but the customer is always right, I say that it’s over here instead.”
That’s definitely how the GP acts
They deserved this accident...it's pure stupidity
The best part is, this gets grouped in as part of "rollercoaster accidents" and will be used as part of a statistic to show why rollercoasters are dangerous
Fr
you bet!
gotta drive that "coasters are dangerous" narrative!
And people like this would be the result for ride closures/Court cases for their own ignorance. Look at Tornado water ride at KD for example.
@@joeyharper4976 there's one I'm still mad about as the family got the coaster destroyed because their idiot family member broke so many safety rules
It’s still low compared to the millions who die in traffic accidents
But how do you just…walk off a platform and not see anything right in front of you?
Because there's a copious amount of dumb assholes all around you, Katie.
Lack of presence of mind I guess
Dude thought he could fly i guess
You would be incredibly surprised at how many people live every single day in such a dangerously low sense of overall awareness. I used to work in retail, and no matter how massive and brightly colored we made signs that said "we do not accept checks" people would immediately pull out a checkbook and start writing a check at the register, only for me to point out the massive sign literally right in front of their face... And they would still get pissed at me as if I personally made the executive decision to not take checks at a massive fortune 500 company lol

Didn’t follow directions. Listening skills were not on par
When you delete the exit ramp under a peep in RCT 😂
Bro went full peep.
Hahahahahaahhaha. This made me laugh WAY too hard.
OMG I LUV U lol
Guest 362 has drowned! Mechanic 8 has drowned!
Reminds me of trapping employees in the animal cages in RCT 3 deluxe

Michael! Michael no!
Where i live, people have ended up driving down train tracks when following the directions of a GPS
exactly the feel I get
@Pineapple road my mom knows someone whose daughter died because the GPS led her onto train tracks and a train hit her car
That's not funny. People have actually died that way.

You just know some clickbait channel is going to twist this story into the accident being the ride’s fault when the victim literally walked off the ride platform.
"Hm, yes this 8 foot drop looks like an exit. Surely I can safely leave via this drop seeing as how there's no safety fencing on this section."
Fr
Well, the good thing at least is that they didn't die from such a humiliating fall!
Now that would’ve been sad
death by roller coaster platform
That's my local park. HOW did they mess that up? The exit to that ride is SUPER obvious
Ikr
@@kobaltextreme3517that’s my local park as well, how do you mess up that bad on the simplest ride to figure out?
As a ride operator, you’d be surprised how many people can’t see exits
@@Wolfie54545Not seeing an exit is understandable for anyone who has never been on a ride before. Just walking right off a ride platform, more than just not seeing a ride exit.
same like ???
Ride operators know, this is exactly how guests follow directions
As a ride operator for a smaller amusement park, you’d be astonished at how many people can’t see exit signs or exits in general.
You’d expect a job like this to be fun cause you get to see other people having fun, but that quickly gets washed away at seeing the utter stupidity of people.
It’s not that they can’t see it’s that they don’t look to see
Honestly, I have no idea how you were able to tell this without laughing, lmao

This is the MOST Darien Lake thing I’ve ever heard😂😂
Darwin award nomination for that person.
Darwin Awards only count if said person dies. But they can be honorable mentions.
I don't think they removed themselves form the gene pool in this accident though.

People really make me wonder sometimes
Were they impaired by a substance or just completely obstinate?
Report doesn't specify, I imagine it could just be the heat.
Maybe looking at cell phone and walking. It's happened before, but usually with exposed manholes.
@@ki5aok nope, not an excuse if the employee said to CROSS OVER THE TRAIN. No one’s at fault but the rider
@@nymphohalo Wasn't trying to excuse the rider. Was only offering a potential explanation on why someone would just walk off a platform.
Yep that’s a customer alright. We have a window at my work with a giant sign that says “NOT A DOOR”. People ask us where the exit is and we tell them. Someone still walks into it once a week, so we moved a mini fridge in front of it. A woman asked me where the exit was, I told her it was the same way she came in, and she said “okay” and walked straight to the window, SHOVED THE FCKING MINIFRIDGE TO THE SIDE, and smashed face-first into the glass. Then turned to look at me like it was my fault.
Where is Judge Judy and how soon can she yell at that woman?
😅😂😅😂
"Hey guys, watch me do a Wile E. Coyote"
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Best comment ever. Period.🤣
At Disneyworld, you know how some of the rides have an audio loop of “please exit to the right, please exit to the right”… well, when I was a kid, I was riding with my grandmother on PeterPan…and she exited to the left and fell. She was alright, I think she was just not really thinking.
I think this falls under, I didn't think I have to tell you not to do that.
Seriously you know you're on a ride platform. You think you would make sure you're not walking off a ledge.
Well that's a unique accident. Not many people just walk off the edge of the loading platform.
Did they not want to climb over the train to get to the exit?
Dumbest accident… or smartest lawsuit?
*Inception noise*
BWAAAAAAAA
This was my first thought aswel😂
i thought that as well but could they really sue for something that was so obviously due to their own stupidity?
As a Busch gardens employee, I wouldn’t be surprised if this happens more often there
Oblivion Guards be like:
I have been on this ride more times than I can count. It is a great time, don't let this stop you if you visit Darien Lake. You would never have a reason to walk on the platforms that are in place for maintenance workers. This ride has lots of really obvious pathways on and off the ride.
That's uhm... I don't know what it is, but it's something, I guess.
I'm donezo 😂
“I fell off a rollercoaster I swear”
the rollercoaster
Dude finally realized his dream of becoming a Looney Tunes character.
Yeah, that's dumb. There are signs above the train with an arrow pointing and saying to exit to the LEFT. Also, the exit gate is marked as such.
This is why at my ride, we are required to stand at the front ends of the station, so that guests don't do this lmao
The funniest one is this picture of a lady who fell in between two cars of a B&M. The look on her face is amazing!
You know, there's going to be a warning sign at the end of the platform warning guests not to walk off the end of the platform.
There is no accounting for stupid. 😅
People from other countries wonder why we Americans have fences and protective rails everywhere …
If I was the ride op I wouldn't know how to contain myself😭😭😭
As a local of Darien Lake, how about telling the story of the staff letting someone with no legs get on the Ride Of Steel and promptly flew out of his seat mid ride
Already did a video on that!
The person that fell deserves a Darwin award lol
The fact that it happened around 4:20 pm makes it more insane 💀
Im convinced the person who walked off the edge was a sim
"Sir, the exit is on the right"
"Alr thanks"
*Proceeds to fall off the platform*
Oh wow that's wild. Darien Lake is just a bit outside my hometown of Buffalo NY, been more times than I can count when I lived in WNY, & rode that ride a bunch.
“The exit is on the other side of the train” Guest proceeds to walk off platform.
See kids, this is why you don't text and walk off platforms.
Imagine riding the ride, and seeing someone just walk off the platform npc style. That’s some matrix shit right there
That is a extraordinarily dense thing to do
That No-limits coaster looks really cool, and familiar 🤔 Nice to see my coasters again 😂
Can’t always account for stupidity unfortunately :/
I work at a theme park and I am often shocked about people exiting roller coaster on obviously the wrong side. Sometimes they think that the slimest ways with no railing towards the tracks were the right exit. As if our safety laws would approve that! 🙈
It often gets me shocked. And those people clearly have no regrets and get mad at me for not showing them the right exit before. They could have just followed the others…
Exactly like guests falling out of exits without paths into the water on RCT.. didn’t think humans were just as dumb
tbf, the phrasing could be easily miss-interpreted to think the operator meant the other END of the train vs the other SIDE. But there's no excuses for just....missing that there's literally no exit signage, gate, or stairs???
Hey did you create that graphic or is there a park resource somewhere?
The fact that this is my local theme park and I stumbled upon it while scrolling is scary
How… how do you not look first? Like, just to make sure you make the first step? How do you just walk up to what you think is a staircase but not look at it, even a passing glance first to see where the first step is??? Wild
Did they have a visual impairment? That's the only decent reason i can come up with as to how they WALKED OFF. It would have been one thing to have them go to that area and see there was nothing, but either they couldn't see or they were not looking if they did something that severe.
I liked how they used a simulated computer animation to show what really happened. Neat graphics.
I didnt expect to hear that but ok
Picturing Wile E Coyote falling off of a cliff 🤣🤣
Technically, they did as told! lmao
“Hey where’s the exit?”
“It’s on the other side of the platform. You gotta cross the train to get over.”
“Ok cool, thanks.”

Bro was acting like he already HAD a head injury 💀
I remember this! Darien Lake was my go to amusement park as a kid and let me tell you compared to the uh… couple deaths we’ve had here, this just looks even more silly
That's either stubbornness, or too many Sims games and the guy was expecting for a deity to place a platform there.
"Where's the exit?"
"It's on the left side of the track"
"Okay. Thank you very much" *Proceeds to yeet themselves off the station platform*
Bro is legit an npc and walked off the edge of the platform 💀
As a ride mechanic for 5 years, we know guests will go where not supposed to go. So a barrier or sign to obstruct the way is needed at the edge of platform.
Why would anyone wait until they got on the ride to make-up their mind whether or not to ride? You make your decision BEFORE you get on the ride. What is wrong with people?
The NL2 visualisations are great
Cue the Wile E. Coyote classic falling whistle
I’m a designer for just such things. I put catch-platforms below edges like this so people don’t go all the way down. Why not nets? Because those have to be inspected and recertified daily.
“No, dummy, I meant the closest exit, which is clearly this opening directly in front of the trai-aughhh!”
If this was 6 Flags Darien Lake, I've been there and it was a pretty clean park with safe rides. Western New York is nice during the summer.
Can you do a video on the Idlewild's Rollo Coaster accident?
Yes
"I want to get off Motocoaster. I'm lost!" - guest 420 moments before smiting themselves against the ride
I shouldn't have laughed as hard as I did
Right? I'm reading comments laughing
of course one of the dumbest accidents happened at my home park..
The ppl on the coaster about to go on the ride were prob so pissed they had to wait because of that
Almost don't believe this actually happened. Seems like that person was not aware of their surroundings at all
It happens a lot more than you think lol. Official report in the video description.
I was at dollywood and a lady walked in front of the train on the track on Lightning Rod
Her husband got all defensive after the staff yelled across the platform about it, causing an E-Stop.
It got to the point security was called and the worker had to be relieved as the man kept shouting. I honestly hope they were ejected. Like you made a mistake, own it, say sorry and move on.
Edit: Yelled as in mainly confronting her, not belittling
We live near Darrien Lake, and I have went on the MotoCoaster before. It is rather hard to imagine someone would just “walk off” the platform. The drop is clearly visible. How do you not realize?
I’ve been an enthusiast for over 10 years and just learned that this coaster exists lol
Right On!!! You can’t fix stupid.
This is so tragic and horrible! This is another HORIFYING accident, and you're all laughing!
This is not a “roller coaster” accident. This is just someone being stupid next to a roller coaster 😂
the area where the animated roller coaster is i swear is straight out of my night mares.
I really hope they didn't try to file a lawsuit. A lot of people make mistakes out of sheer stupidity or ignorance and then blame the other party for their own mistake. I'm sorry that they got hurt and I hope that they recover it just is something that I will never understand because that is just common sense.
Do the accident on the meanstreak. Where the rider in the rear seat had his left hand hanging down as the train entered the station. As the train came it the platfor the riders hand/arm became severed when it was stuck between the loading platform and train. Operators called for assistance and pushed the train back. Freeing the rider and his still attached severes hand. The rider servied and his use of hand is unknown.
The guests in RCT are smarter than that.
This roller coaster is actually awesome
Bro acted like a skyrim NPC💀
Also w timing at 4:20
They were definitely looking at their phone.
Link to the accident report is broken.
Let us not forget, Lloyd Christmas fell off the jetway more than once.
Did the victim tried to file a lawsuit?
This is so dumb, it could be on purpose, like those car accident scams
