I'm fairly certain that ride was trashed beyond repair. Beyong the gondola damage it looks like the main support spars were bent
I'm impressed with how well it held up, honestly. Would have expected all the gondolas to be gone
This is a great example of why guests should happily accept temporary closures when wind or lightning is nearby.
Frrrrr they always like “wHeRe Is ThE LiGhTnInG???” And I’m like bruh it’s within a 10 mile radius you won’t be able to see it. They have to close the ride cause storms move quick.
I’m not going on Ferris Wheel 1. It isn’t safe
looks too intense for me
The video clip looks like something straight out of my dreams. I’ve been having dreams about amusement/theme parks about 2-3 times per week, ever since I was a kid. A lot of the times the rides are going wild or have little to no safety precautions, and were intentionally designed that way, despite the obvious danger. Can’t tell you how many times dream-me has been yeeted thousands of feet in the air out of subpar restraints or made sick by a loud, fever-dream-drug-trip-of-a-ride at “Disney” or nearly bludgeoned instantly by an impossibly fast swing arm attached to yet another swinging arm of a flat ride. Other times I’m left to witness similar things happen to other park goers. For the few times my subconscious does provide a safe fantastical park, it’s about ten times more likely to thrust me into a situation where severe bodily harm is the inevitable outcome. In either case, I tend to wake up considering the dream a thrilling fun time.
Needless to say, the world is probably made safer for the fact that I didn’t pursue my childhood goal to become a rollercoaster engineer 😂
Also, I’m relieved to hear no one was on the Ferris wheel at the time! What a way to go.
Ahh, the amusement park dreams. Know those well also. Always a blast especially when they're vivid. The rides are always absolutely absurd lol.
@@zackv3957 seriously hahaha I kinda love how insane they can get
@@SylverArc my therapist said the same! I guess we’re all out here feeling like we’re without a lapbar on the rollercoaster of life 🫠👍🏼👍🏼
Now i have an idea for a new Flat Ride ;D
Is it a Rock-O-Plane but faster?
that looks terrifying. holy smokes!
Are there any protocols for tall rides like Ferris wheels to prepare for a big storm with high winds? I’ve often wondered about the rides on ocean piers during hurricanes.
Also that ferris wheel looks like a Zipper ride spinning like that!
I imagine there won’t be time to disassemble or prevent damage to the ride before the hurricane. Sure the gondolas could become projectiles, but the park will be closed and the entire coastline evacuated regardless
Finally they get exciting!! Ferris Wheels are so boring (unless they are manufactured by Intamin)
Thats sad
That's Terrifying what if people were on it oh my gosh!!!!!
That’s scary, I don’t like Ferris wheels too much and now I hate them more
last fall I rode Giant Wheel on a windy day. it was surprisingly stable. they engineered the hell out of that thing
You shouldn’t hate a Ferris wheel more because of a 100 mph storm with no riders on it. It was still in good shape compared to what people would expect after the storm, most are built well.
@@quix9556 I just find the lines too long for the ride experience, that’s why I don’t like it
Me when riding pre-retracked legend
Extreme
omg that looks so fun lmao
Is is bad thing i wanna experience that ?
That actually looked like it would be fun
Call of duty
Free ride if youd like lol
