My car broke down the day before I was supposed to see them live, so I bought a train ticket and traveled 6 hours across Texas to see them. The line for the venue was winding blocks down the street, people would pull over in cars and yell "what's going on!?" Because mostly everyone was dressed up for a viking invasion. Still one of my greatest memories. 😂

      This...
When I tell people about them, I usually try to explain her to them with "imagine a goddess of the winds..... now... imagine that goddess using the calming but powerful and sometimes shrieking sound of the winds, to sing"
And I in general refer to her as a goddess of wind (which I guess has double meaning, having to use "wind" for her vocal cords)...
      She's incredible!!!
It's all increadible... but she's something extra special

Other times, for whatever reason (strung out, not taking care of themselves etc) the live performance is just shit. Some (most) of the last 10 years of Manson live performances have been garbage. Same with Fear Factory, In both cases due to years of abuse and damage on the vocals, by the second song, it was just trash.

I just had the pleasure of going to their ritual in Austin. Their music transcends language and time and, when you listen to Heilung, you can feel something ancient and primal waking up in your soul. Something long suppressed. Going to their ritual, however, will release that out of you. You feel it in your blood, your heart, your soul, and your bones.

They talked about this after the 2021 Red Rocks ritual, which they wanted to record for a new Lifa but the speakers died halfway in, and said they theoretically had all they needed to do it anyway.

But I totally get what you are saying ; we need more analog / naturally talented artists such as Heilung who are brave and good enough to try new things that don't fit into the same old trite boxes .
Folks act as if everyone has been done before and nothing new is possible but humans have been proclaiming that since when Mammoths stomped around the Earth . The spirit of the cosmos is constantly whispering beauty in the form of new ideas and all we have to do is listen carefully with the right sort of ears . This wasn't written by eight fourty year old men in a conference room and we can tell -- we can feel the difference and respond positively to it .

I was never really a spiritual person untill I saw Heilung live for the first time at one of their first shows ever at Castlefest.
It was stunning, bordering on eerie, how they were able to capture the audience in their trance and make them chant or fall silent at their will. I still don't know what if I am a very spirutual person, I'm not religious, I don't believe in reincarnation or chakra's or miracles. But I do believe in the power of this band and of this music. It is a language that speaks to a buried part of ourselves, a part that especially in modern times is screaming for attention.

When I first saw a video with Heilung and soon after an interview with Maria, I thought she seemed familiar to me.
I found through friends that i did meet her at a larp in the 90ies.
I will not claim I know her, but I have talked to her. 30 years ago. Weird feeling. And so happy for her and her "tribes" success.

    This song is powerful.
It feels like something ancient and essential, lost irrevocably. Like a semi-faded memory of which you can only recall the feeling, never the detail.
Very much hope to see Heilung live one day.

I was at the Denver performance. I don't know where else to be able to tell them this so here I am. You guys saved my life. I was in such a deep dark place before I found you, hospitalized for safety for myself, just the worst depression of my life. I legitimately owe you my life. After I got out of the hospital I found out you were playing nearby and I did everything I could to see you. It was my very first "spirit journey", and I will never ever forget it. Seeing you live was the most wonderful experience of my life. I experienced true calm and happiness for the first time in as long as I can remember. Your music makes me feel something magical in a world that feels like all the magic has been sucked out of it. If it's the last thing I do, I will meet you guys and thank you in person.

I concur with this! Prior to discovering Heilung I was going through outpatient rehab for prescription pain pills and I know it may sound cliche but once I listened to them it helped with the healing and not only that but it brought me connection to my ancestors and allowed me to learn about myself. I can successfully say ever since discovering Heilung I haven’t had any relapses and 110% sober.

It's like on a movie that I heard once...... depression is a futher mucker...
It's as if you feel like your not worth the oxygen your sucking down.
      1. You get used to it.
      2. Then you start to believe it.
      3. Then you love it.
      4. Ultimately, you can't stand to live without it.
It's like that bottle, you reach for over and over. It's your only companion left.
Heilung came at a time when I was at level 4, like so many of us.
With their rituals, They can help bottle all that up and throw it aside as you continue your journey/path.
Hope this helps whoever comes across this thread. You are not alone.

Yes, I am a grown man with kids and responsibilities. I am generally a very stable person, but it's the same for me. They are hitting the right spot deep down in my heart and soul, enlightening such deep, healing emotion, or call it energy, to release pain and struggle. For that, they really deserve their name. At least for me.

You can say that live always sounds better than studio. 99 percent of the time it's a lie, then suddenly the studio voice is different than live. In this case it is different. The studio version is impressive, but the live version is out of this world. I listen to and produce industrial, that's not my music. Your play with the stereo is impressive. The male voice on stereo, the two female voices on the left and right. Very nice effect. I come from the most complex music genre, but this is the most complex thing I've ever heard. I'm absolutely impressed.
