Speaking of Logic: Could you guys do a Book Review on Bait of Satan by John Bevere? I’ve been having quite a few people recommending this book to me lately and upon reading the first 2 chapters it seems problematic and in some parts down right Dangerous.
Yeah, I am totally onboard with mystical union, from my very basic understanding of what you've said. John 17 is hardcore on how we will be perfectly one with Christ just as he and the Father are one, and that has blown my mind for a long time. I have not heard my fellow Baptists really dig into that idea, but it is absolutely profound. And then the idea of the marriage being the model of our relationship with Christ: flesh of his flesh, bone of his bone. One. And bearing the name of Christ. The 144,000 will bear the name, and so will the Church of Philadelphia. We will have his name on our foreheads and essentially be acting as Christ - his ambassadors - as sons of God. 2 P 1:4 says we will be partakers of the divine nature. Hebrews 6 says that, as sons of God, we will be metochos ginomai: sharing in the birth of the Holy Spirit.

Good discussion 👍
There's always a reasonable alternative to Faith - that's how Abraham and Sarah had a committee meeting and produced Ishmael

Yo, it's the D-O-double-G on the divine,
Talkin' prolegomena, theology's design.
Before the scripture, before the creed,
We lay the groundwork, sowin' the seed.
We start with God, the Almighty, Supreme,
His essence and nature, like a dream.
Eternal, infinite, beyond our sight,
Yet immanent in our lives, day and night.
The Word of God, inspiration pure,
Scripture's authority, that's for sure.
Revelation, how it came to be,
God's own breath, for you and me.
Then we discuss human plight and sin,
Original fall, where do we begin?
Adam and Eve, that fateful day,
But redemption's promise, lights the way.
Christ the Savior, the Second Adam's role,
Incarnation, atonement, to make us whole.
Crucified and risen, conquered the grave,
By His grace, we're eternally saved.
The Holy Spirit, breath of life,
Guiding us through joy and strife.
Sanctifying, empowering, making us new,
In the Trinity's love, forever true.
So before the doctrines, the deep debates,
Prolegomena sets the theological plates.
It's the intro, the groundwork we lay,
So theology shines bright in a Sn-p D-g way.

theologians trying hard to justify their existence. but then again, don't we all?
It depends on how you look at it 🤣
